Sup Rollaclub? Let's Have A Chat.
love ke70 replied to irokin's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
The issue with rollaclub cruises is a bit like this, the ones that do drive, are driven everyday, so need work on the weekends, the ones that don't drive, don't drive, so thus, no one makes it to the cruise. and a cruise you have to pay for, I think we struggle cruise numbers as it is eh? I do like the idea though, very much, of a yearly cruise with a meaning, making it stick may be an issue though? Always willing to donate again as and when is needed. -

photos sell cars like this mate. sweet ride, I bought a worked statesman as a fill in some time ago, i just can't shake the bug now :P -
yeah, I have them aligned properly, its just like the locking device does not move freely or something, doesnt have enough grab on the belt..
-
balljoints can do this too as they can give an oscillation
-
I put aftermarket ones in my import, as I had to to get it complied, and they are shit, so be warned. by shit I mean the safety stopper on them has to be yanked so hard before it grabs its stupid. ie, my mate could headbutt the dash easily at force...

I like this idea mate, having had a turbo LPG before its a great idea/setup for smaller motors. If your chasing a GRA carby or convertor for the boosted applications let me know.. Cheers, Andy
-
looked pretty violent, bet you both had a stiff neck the next day? Such a shame to see such a good car finish like this. I'm sure you will be back, its just going to be time to get the motivation to do it all again All the best to the both of you

not if it is really just a waste of resources ;)

Id still rather see you spend the money and put a thousand horsepower through it while retaining handling capabilities and track it. the cost would be similar me thinks...

Hey guys, long time since I posted on here, still plugging away with my import 2 door TE72 sedan, I have a set of 15" rays mesh wheels that fit over my new 299mm rotors and performance friction calipers, and I have measured everything up and sent it to Rays in jap land after getting no help from retailers in Australia relating to whether a new set of TE37V in anything from a 15 x 8 to a 15 x 10 will fit over these brakes. It took me forever to get to the point of them asking for the dimensions, and then they came back and said, no, they wont fit in any way. With no real explanation. Being a radial mount I can easily drop 10mm out of the disc radius if I have to, but they are not getting back to me. I really want the wheels, but no point having them if they don't fit the brakes. So, does anyone have one I can sit a brake setup in to see if they will work? Happy to leave a deposit etc etc and travel to get the wheel. Just have to get this sorted as its really hindering my progress! Cheers, Andy

Ill sell you my statesman for 4000, you can then keep the other 500 and buy yourself a great night on the town. And your life will probably be better than going through the trauma of why you spent 4500 on a crankshaft alone for an underpowered shit heap corolla engine ;) You have to put these costs into perspective, it makes no sense

So, axles wheels and discs have had new stud pattern drilled, new wheel bearings on the axles as destruction is required to remove the old ones, and new studs and nuts installed. All for $450. I highly recommend Geoff England Engineering if you have anything of this sort of stuff to do. he is a great guy and made everything quick and easy. axles are back in the car and Wades wheels went on. couldnt get a photo last night cause of the fluros, and now the sun is all wrong this morning. but anyway, front sits wide as, which I knew it would, I think the gaurd will just flare enough to cover. The rear with a standard diff would require that a front flare would have to be welded onto the rear to push it wide enough. In my instance it sits lovely and flush, just like the old wheels. Might have to take a mounting face measurement, but its obvious this diff is about 50mm a side narrower than a standard one. So I think I am going to have to find some bigger offset rear outers and swap them over to match the front, or I might go to a 15 x 10 rear. It bodes well for the Rays rims though which I wanted to run as a 10" rear, they should sit exactly how I want them :) My AW11 rack has been posted, I have my S13 test fit gear, and the quick rack is in transit, but the bloke sent a RHD one, So has ordered a LHD pinion and it will be on its way as soon as he gets it.

Check out toymods.org.au they have a massive thread in the tech section about everything to do with megasquirt. Altezzaclub, you need to see the weights of my project in my sig, can't remember the specifics, but the 1g wasnt bad for balance over the 3t

Page not found I think 1J is legal in queensland now. If it bolted into my shell it would be hard to walk past hey...

One build thread says it works, I would have thought if it worked it would be widespread knowledge... do you have a link to thread?

where are you located? and who says the engine mounts line up?

will contact engineer tomorrow. IF he was any more laid back he would be laying down, but he did want the cage finished. I'll fly him up from melbourne just to blue plate the car if I have to. My fabricator can't even look at the car until June, I havnt heard squat from the engineer, or the fabricator about NCOP, and I have asked a few times in the past, so hopefully they have it covered. met with Geoff England of Geoff England engineering today, good job hes not charging by the hour, I was there nearly two hours talking about everything and even a little bit of car related doo-wop, he is going to destroy the bearings and refit new ones. such a shame. but will get the job done. New studs and we shall be away. I am going to get the tyres off the wheels and he will redrill the wheels, and I guess I need to organise new discs too, might have to talk to Performance friction about that, Wonder if they make blanks to suit an alfa berlina GTV :P
-
mmm, the cage thing is interesting, NCOP has been officially in a couple of times. I will touch base with the engineer though, I have a feeling back dating paperwork, and I might make a payment before NCOP date for finalisation of cage etc etc, so we can say it was done just not engineered. Have a feeling will be a bit like P plate laws, if you already owned it, its do-able. But I will find out, if not I may be ʞ©$ɟed. Its already a 2 seater so no seating capacity mod needed. I did have a brief discussion with Dave about it and read some of his views, I often question why it doesnt work, I don't expect it to be a bolt in setup, its more a way of getting a better hub and stub axle setup in there, as the toyota ones are none so strong, I'm hoping by setting rack up to suit suspension, or atleast doing it simultaneously, and doing what we have to do to get the geometry right, it should work. IF not, I guess I'll be looking again... all my gear from thailand arrived today, yet to open box. Taking axles and wheels to Geoff England Engineering tomorrow, wheels shouldnt be an issue being steel POS, really only redrilling them to make them sellable, he said axles and discs should be sweet to do. I'm assuming I'm going to have to pull bearings off, which is a shame as they havnt been driven on, should have changed pattern before I rebuilt the diff :(

SO, I bought wades old rims for street duties, more photos here: http://s29.photobucket.com/user/arowland2/media/wades%20wheels%20now%20mine/IMG_2307_zps8c5abbf1.jpg.html?sort=3&o=6 2 rims are 15x8,-10 offset these are fitted with 195/50R15 Marshal with plenty of tread 2 rims are 15x8.5 -17 offset this are fitted with 195/50R15 Duruns with plenty of tread And I am still waiting to here back from Rays about details on the TE37's I am looking at which I will use for circuit. Under the rims I have bought I can fit a 299 rotor with a ZR34 caliper from Performance Friction. They make some cool shit. http://www.pfcbrakes.com.au/products.php?pageId=43 was going to reuse the old calipers off the alfa diff for the rear, but they seem to be 9 parts ʞ©$ɟed, So i might bite the bullet and go good shit all round first up. Suspension, looking into S13 hub with MCA suspension http://mcasuspension.com/red-series/ dealing with MCA to supply suspension, I like the look of the red although not sold on the single adjuster, 2 way would be nicer, but i question whether I will need it or not?? Ken at accurate suspensions is going to set the car up, I have the whole front end out of a S13 here, and we will throw that in and decide if its what we want, or what we are going to do. At the same time I will get him to mount the new rack I have bought, to do away with the wobbly old steering box, I have purchased an AW11 rack out of the states, which is the same as an AE86, Elvin, the guy who helped me out so much importing the car has sourced the rack and is going to post to me, and I have ordered a quiafe quick rack out of Palmside.co.nz as they were able to match prices with a British supplier. So that should get the front end out of bumpsteer territory and nasty kingpin angles etc, if it doesnt I will decide on something different. I have done away with the power steer thoughts at the moment, Just see how it goes first. Tonight I actually moved the car into the shed, pulled the axles out with the aim of getting the wheels and axles re drilled to suit the 4 x 114.3, as the rear at the moment is currently 4 x 108. Hopefully it can be done. I will be bummed if it can't. I'm sure someone will be able to do it though, then the wheels I have bought will actually fit front and rear. I have also ordered a bunch of seals etc from ebay, and got my glass back from PGI after it being lost for 2 years. as it turns out they can't remake it for me, but owell, at least I'm back where I started. I have a lead on a dude in philipines, malaysia, indo? somewhere in that region who recreates vehicle rubbers, so I am going to approach him about doing new seals for the pop out glass, as I can't find it anywhere, and I'm not the first person to not be able to find it. The car is also booked in to have cage finished, seat and pedal box mounted etc etc in june, so all the suspension, steering and braking needs to be sorted before then. Might actually make some progress soon hey! all input appreciated guys, on any of the things I am doing. Cheers, Andy :)

ive got one that runs just fine gasless, useless on gas though. free for you if you want to use it.

love it mate, very nearly did the same as you when I was 17 and looked into importing one, it became a one day when I'm old and have the patience to do a car to the standard they deserve type affair. looks like your nailing it. cheers, Andy
