  1. Hey all Another thread regarding conversion to 13b or 13bt into a ke70. Can also include ae71. A bit of custom work is needed i know, but what custom work? custom engine/gearbox mounts and crossmembers. custom tailshaft probably. anything else? what is the parts list required for the conversion? if there is a website out there that has all this info you can post link, otherwise discuss and sticky for the next lot of people who come on here and want to know same answer!
  2. thanks mate! how pricey are these parts as well? they seem like fairly common parts i.e. st141 stuff and celica stuff! but yeh intend to drive a ke70 around for a while as a daily and then do a conversion down the track. u doing this urself or getting a workshop to do it? and i'd go W58 gearbox as a guy on ae86dc had a w55 and it shat on him! how do u do these custom crossmembers and tailshafts etc? urself or go to a shop and ask them to make for you? i know ca and sr conversions use custom crossmembers and tailshafts but i plan to try keep it all toyota! doesnt seem too bad! most of the work would be done by workshop i think. as I'm not heaps cluey with motor conversions!
  3. hey all looking at buying a ke70 or ae71 and daily driving it stock for a while but then looking at 3SGE conversion. or is it better to just go with 4AGE? what is involved in the conversion from 4K to 3SGE? mounts/crossmembers etc thanks
  4. well a guy is selling a ke70 with 5k engine and gearbox for a grand? worth it? has rust but comes with rust repair sections and spare doors and some panels etc! Tally is the guy selling it here in adelaide! i would be looking for 4AGE conversion down the track anyways so maybe i should just get an ae71 5spd! coz gotta change a lot of stuff from ke70 to get a 4AGE in it! but how fast is the 5k compared to the 4AGE? People happy with the engine? Coz i just want a ke70 for a daily that i can lower and put wide-ass wheels on! 14x8 +-0 with guard work. T18 bumpers etc! and then drive it around for a while until i can afford to do a 3SGE or 4AGE conversion! speaking of which what is involved in 3SGE conversion? better to get custom mounts/crossmembers made up or just buy an ae71?

  6. i just went for ke70. yeh so what you need a new xmember, gearbox xmember and couple other things! if people want the flat front but want ae71, it's just better to get the flat front and hunt for the xmembers and everything else to bolt in
  7. hey dude yeh good to hear bout cop shop defect! coulda been reamed more! lol! i'm getting a rolling shell next weekend (90% sure about it) will be doing bodywork first obviously as it has no motor or gearbox! the ca18 bluebird one is good for $400 but the defect worries me as it's a regency job apparently? dunno how much that costs!?
