  1. Kickn5k, you work at a parts joint? if so if the rings will fit do you know if they do .060 chrome rings? Precision are not being very helpful with letting me know sizes.. all I know is they only have 040 hypatecs or 020 endurotech and that they can't confirm if the rings will fit (didn't tell me ring size options, but if I find out they do fit I will bug them more) if I can't get rings for hypatec maybe I will have to look at other options?
  2. Thanks again.. Precision said that although the ring may fit they can't confirm the depth of the rings and said would need to install on piston to confirm it fits. Sounds like it could be a little wste buying if theyre different depth. I have contacted hastings and Jp pistons to see if they have a listing for chrome rings or if they can confirm what will fit.. Unfortunately I don't have a big budget, so money wasted on rings that don't work mean less money elsewhere... will get there eventually!
  3. Thanks so much... Anything listed or useable for .040 (1mm?). Yeah going hypatec precision contacted me and by sounds of it they may only have .040 in hypatec. But will have to confirm this... If I had catalogs or knew where to get them I'd look it up myself
  4. Got myself some acl bearings.. probably buy pistons next week... More than likely will end up with cast rings if I can't find chrome.. unfortunately.
  5. Cheers Guys, looking at hypatec .040 pistons (cheap as - only $115) if there are any known chrome rings to suit that would be great. Have been told precision only list cast rings... so if there are chrome options that would be good

  7. Any specific brand to buy or keep away from for bearings, I'm building 5k for boost and not sure if something like acl will do the job or if there are better options.

  9. Wow.. I thought it would have been steam pipe... Guess I'll have to custom.. wouldn't happen to have pictures of his manifold at all? Unsure how to fit it all on the same side in a 10s engine bay

  12. Nice... Sounds like that should be decent... Compared to super low compression... Pistons are quite cheap so it may just be trial and error... But would prefer to get it rite first.. to save where I can

  15. Hey all. Slowly collecting parts for a 5k turbo build. Will be running a 4k head with some work done to it which leads me to the question of which pistons to run? I'm assuming if I run d dish I'm going to have super low compression? Which could be good for boost but bad for lag... But would this be required if I was aiming on 15-20psi? Will be street driven so don't want an absolute pig to drive

  19. Need something that will take boost.. wonder if 15psi will be ok for a short squirt :). Goes well for a prehistoric turbo setup... Need a Damn tachometer though no idea how hard I'm revving it
  20. Nahh I got a straight through baffled looking thing.. timing now at 25° and seems to make a difference... Goes better too... For a $50 4k it got to 60mph pretty quick.. seems the fun starts at around 10psi
  21. i think it is straight through .. still makes the thing silent though maybe I'm expecting the old 4k to rev too much, but just doesnt seem right.. maybe its the exhause too big for down low...

  25. Anyone have experience with draw through turbo setups? Got mine running pretty well.. but seems restricted, when revving it seems sluggish and restricted.. any ideas why? When driving higher rev range seems ok.. but wondering what can cause it to seem like it struggles to rev? I'm thinking timing or flywheel too heavy.. happy for opinions. T2 turbo a inch and 3 quarter Stromberg su thing.
