"dodgy" Mods Youve Done To Your Car
Reaper_Mobb replied to Evan G's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
not really a modd... but funny... my old man had a wreck in the back yard back in the day. a place in the same town would collect card for free if they where in 3 parts... a few mates and a few beers and they got out the angle grinder and a cut off disk... cut off the roof then started to cut the body in half... ... ... cut through the fuel line, fuel all over his hair and beard... sparks all over fuel... enter the human torch. so he screaming and running around one of his mates tackled him and starts to roll him on the ground... another one instead of poring the beer on him dumps a shovel load of dirt on his head... -
I have no idea, but if its not for the rode can you just get out the welder and "supplement" the current one? like i said i have no idea if its possible, just an idea
-
first the plugs screw up on my ke70 then the dizzy. now the timing... if this keeps up i might need to take you up on that
-
hey man, heaps of info out there, and I'm fairly sure its been asked before, try "this place" or just "mother of all engine conversion info" from what i can see most of the 4age type will fit might just need a bit if tweaking
-
haha the more i think about it the more i like the idea, but at the end of the day its a 4k ke70 in need of a lot of body work... but i like doing that sort of thing and i can get LEDs for cheap so i can't see why not :P

yeah its "ok" i got the right cap now and ngk plugs, old leads are ok but i got a new set for spare just in case. runs good not but looks like the timing is advanced... i don't have the gear to fix it :P yeah it a Bosch dizzy, the first cap was Bosch but to fit the other dizzy. now i have champion to fit Bosch... -

hey guys, was thinking of putting some coloured LEDs in the ke70 (more of a joke with some mates than any attempt to make it "cool") just wondering if anyone has hooked up interior led/neon to the head light switch? i been told its a good way to do it but i this is sounds like a bad idea... hard to see at night and... :P to me it would seem easier to just make a new circuit and hook it up to a toggle switch... anyway if anyone has any experience or any tips please do share with me :D

looks good man, i can't find any good ones in wa with the 4 stud pattern... i might see if i can change to 5 stud but from whit i read up on it its a little more hassle than its worth

Sluggish, Backfire And Misfire

picked up the gear this arvo... the cap is to small and the leads look all wrong... i got them from repco and the guy said they where for a 4k. can anyone tell me what brand/model/whatever i need to get? budget about $50-$80 for both (not each) -
hey guys, i drove about 250 km the other day and by the end of it the car was finding it hard to idle in 1, 2 or drive (its an auto), got REALLY bad about 10km from home, got ho,e and let her cool down. poped the bonnet and the dizzy cap was 1/2 off not sure for how long but i fixed it up and thought nothing more of it.... oops... ran rough the next day, so i took another look, points a little dirty, but centre point was FRIED and had black burnt looking plastic all over it and a "chipped" looking contact. i cleaned it all down. i check the plugs and gave them a scrub (will be getting new ones this weekend). is there anything else i should check? its stock as a rock
-
ok cool, thanks every one, looks like i got a bit of reading up on a few things...
-
not sure mate, but with a bit of time and patience its not that hard to do your own
-
yeah don't want anything as in-depth as a 4age change over, i might look at putting in another k engine if they can "bolt straight in" and then i can do the transmission a week or two after... more research time yeah i was thinking of doing all that but don't know that much about it all at the moment, I'm taking the old girl into a mechanic to give it a look over of what he thinks needs doing and then ill start working through it
-
on a related note, would this ae86 console fit my ke70? I'm redoing the interior and this this would go well (interior will be black so it will save some hassle)
-
haha yeah it will be a daily but I'm young and male so it will get a work out every so often. i wasn't sure about the breaks, the stock one (at least on mine) are as hard as a rock, but almost to an annoying point... i regularly lock it at a stop sign at 5:15am every morning when its been raining (well not any more, i learnt after the 4th time, but you get the idea).... having said that it needs new tyres too
-
hey guys, i got a ke70, all stock. i was going to do the whole 4sge/whatever convention but might keep this one as is and just make it a reliable and comfy daily and get a flat nose latter on... at the moment I'm finishing off the body work and about to do some interior work but reall should get some mechanical stuff done was going to keep the 4k in it so where should i start? its currently my daily so anything i do to it needs to be able to be finished in a weekend. after a bit of research i was thinking the suspension first then start on the engine (the 3 c's) any suggestions? what some good parts to get (please do NOT say chopped springs...)? as I'm doing bit by bit the budget is fairly healthy and would prefer new parts but good second hand stuff if fine
-
check the quakka online, a guy is wrecking one (i think in bassendeen)
-
yeah i was just thinking it would be cheaper (but as mentioned above i was VERY wrong) so yeah ill just wait till i got some more $ and get one here
-
thanks mate
-
yeah? you got any more details?
-
haha yeah thanks but not for sale, if you know of any please let me know. ill be happy with any engine :lolcry:
-
hey guys, any one know about importing a car from over seas if it comes from a private seller? i found a 3 door ke70 wagon with 4age (running) for about $500 but got a head ache reading all the crap on the net about it and got sick of company saying they can import "any car" if any one can help or point me in the right direction it will be MUCH appreciated!!!

yeah small electrical stuff like that i think its better to repair than replace with another 20 odd year old part :lolcry: I'm actually looking at changing the whole stick on my ke70, it just seems a bit flimsy haha :P
