  1. I meant that the air horns may need to be on a seperate switch.......the normal horn button and original horns would still work fine.
  2. ^^^^ also what i was lead to believe as well. I'm not sure if you have to have it on a separate switch though as well......don't think you do though.
  3. ^^^^^^^ thank you....finally someone with some common sense.
  4. They are pretty restrictive......7KE has bigger ports again if you had any head work done....they also flow alot more air for a forced induction setup.
  5. Personally for a 5k, i would ditch the 4KE setup cause they are just too small......get a 7Ke manifold if you can find one, they are a much better design for flow (shorter runners too).....and if you get the 7ke manifold you don't have to worry about it clearing the tappet cover like the 4ke one. :jamie:
  6. There ya go, i knew the engine i had out the back was around 1800cc.....lol... I have a 13T out the back in the shed.....i've had thoughts about putting it in the ke55 but they are a bloody heavy engine, and i'd only be picking up an extra 250cc and crossflow head.......meh too much effort involved. :jamie:
  7. heres mine for today..... Saw this in a computer shop i walked into the other day.....just had to take a picture of it one big arse prawn. me being bored one day at work..... One of our family traditions at christmas time is me, my brother and my dad have to build a gingerbread house.....this was my touch to it. i may have some more tomorrow
  8. The only thing i've heard about solex's is that they should be used for paper weights and/or ashtrays. Sorry to give you some bad news.
  9. ^^^^^^ i'd be reading the thread a bit more before you replied. He's talking about the acceleration of the car, not the pick up in the fuel tank.......
  10. thank you and f@$k off....;) queenslands first win at telstra stadium since they started playing there in 1997......wont be the last either. Bloody good game to watch again.....right down to the wire. you never know.....lets not stop now, lets make it 3 from 3... :bash: QUEENSLANDER!!!!!
  11. Coils normally either work, or don't work....they don't normally have intermittent problems. Personally i'd be checking the condensor again.....replace it with another one, and at the same time if you have a points dizzy.....just check the gap with some feeler gauges.
  12. no more rain.....but the next rain event wont have to drop as much to achieve higher dam levels, as this system that has passed over us this week has done most of the ground work. IE: the ground has now soaked up enough water to create some runoff.....so the next bit of rain will be hopefully dam filling rain :P

  14. That is bloody shocking.....where do they get off selling a hose for $920.....i knew toyota were bad for overpricing genuine parts, but i didnt realise they were trying to commit daylight robbery.
  15. looks like that 4 door starlet has aftermarket aircon :bash:.......mmmmmm air con
  16. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ We have a disgruntled NSW supporter in out midst..... IN YOUR DREAMS BUDDY!!!!! :D
  17. In traditional queensland style.....let them think they are winning then crush them like a bug... ;) this msg was brought to you by mckenna bourbon and cola!...
  18. is that your unbaised opinion..... ;) For me, i say KE30/55 or KE70 for ease of engine swapping......bigger engine bay = bigger engine :bash:
  19. bwahahahahaha.....stupid me, i meant that but typed it the other way around....idiot! *slaps forehead*
  20. I knew you could still get off the shelf items for the 7KE from toyota themselves......but i thought they stopped production on them around 2000....?
  21. I also use the A12/chev setup.....works a treat. Cameron, you'll probably find that the 3K or 4K ones may be alright to use. From memory i think the 4k pushrods are longer than the 3K items. I may be able to find out tonight for ya
  22. Welcome mate, bit of common sense around the forums goes a long way. Good to see you've read the FAQ before posting a thread like "how do i get more power out of *insert engine here*".....lol Anyway, again.....welcome aboard. ;)
  23. Mine isnt shimmed, and i get about 60psi cold, 40 - 50 psi at operating temp.
  24. Definatly K-W...... K - T looks like this....
  25. No gasket or silicone needed.....the bottom of the sleeve is where the answer lies, It should be a tight fit around the spark plug thread. If it is, take the spark plug out and gently rest the sleeve upside down on a bench, now tap down the lip around where the spark plug hole is. don't tap it too far, go around the lip tapping as you go. Now turn the sleeve over and have it resting on the bench the right way up. Tap down on the lip around the edge of the sleeve......only a little bit again, as you still want it to be a lip, just one that seals around the o-ring. hope that helps. i've done it many times before and each time its worked. As i said, no goo or silicone needed.
