  1. I had one of these babies on my 5k when we first rebuilt it.....all i can say is, a 4k would drown pretty badly. The 5K chaffed out nice black smoke when hammering it.
  2. definately a negative on that one. Better do some more research eh?
  3. Hahahahaha......Happy birthday ya big mug. ;) have a good one and get wasted.....you know i would.
  4. I was about to lock this and tell you both to have a good long hard look at yourselves before posting again....but alas you have said you would rather be on topic, so it should end there.....if it doesn't i'll make sure the next person to carry on the slag fest will receive at least a suspension of some sort. Comprende?
  5. I'd be saying the same, Bit big for a stocker 4K engine....unless you want it to learn how to swim.
  6. If i read that right, you say the 5K head will have lower compression than the 3K head....which is not true. The 3K head would have lower compression as the combustion chamber is half in the head...unlike the 5K which has the combustion chamber in the top of the pistons (dished pistons). All depending on the type of 5K it is. I'd also recommend to do the compression test a few times and take the average....what kinda pressures are you getting atm?
  7. Most people don't know a good carby bloke either.....trust me, spend the money and get them tuned PROPERLY, with either a dyno or a in car AFM gauge. You will save yourself alot of time that could be spent elsewhere (like drinking down at the local)..... Atm my hot 5K has twin 1.75 HS6's on it, i had them tuned by a good carby bloke i know up here in queensland....it took us nearly 2 Saturdays to get it right (mainly cause he had to get different needles in). Mine run a needle called an OA7, the lightest dashpot spring he could get (red) and no oil at all in the dashpots. After many hours road testing the car with an AFM Gauge in the cabin it was just right :D Here's a little site i found helpful when looking up needles myself. http://www.mintylamb.co.uk/suneedle/
  8. Hehehehehehe......mine runs around 28degrees all day every day. Locked for the pure fact that the mechanical advance was working too well and advancing beyond 40degrees.....couldnt be rooted playing around with different springs so we welded it up! And 28 degrees is where it makes the most power.....so we tuned it to that. Been running a treat ever since.
  9. Its actually 102ron from what the sales guy was telling me....and i've put a tank through my car and it loved it....extra power and more torque. :P
  10. I was like the germans......proper f@$ked....Drinking at a mates place then went into the valley, i was in no state to drive. had an awesome night in the valley though :P
  11. That sounds like one. If it doesnt have a metal plate there it should be a bigport. From memory i think the welsh plug is about 40-50mm across.
  12. Alot of the newer toyota forklifts have the 4Y engine in them, depending on the size of the forklift. I used to drive a 2.5 ton lifting capacity forklift that was brand new in 2004/5, it had the old 4y engine in it with a gas conversion bonnet on the carby and a few other things that were different.
  13. ^^^^ i can provide those things....lol you might just get your wish :n: I shall most likely be attending this....
  14. Still broken on the work computer.....mine is fine at home though...
  15. might actually help if you tell us the model of you car.....?? i know the KE30/ke55 ignition all you have to do is take the key barrel out and then undo the small phillips head on the other side of the column to remove the actual switch....stick a flat blade or the end of a key in there and turn to start the car.
  16. Hehehehe......brings to mind a certain incident where a certain someone revved the crapper out of his newishly built 5k, getting to about 8000rpm and then having a slight brainfart and deciding to drop the clutch....much giggling and metal gears going "bang" insued.....it was only the diff but taught me a lesson....lol On topic, i had my 5k balanced and the flywheel is still original.....i also had the harmonic balancer (only on the 5K) rebuilt. It sees 6500rpm on a daily basis, at least once to 8000rpm each week just for shits and giggles.
  17. Hahahahaha.....yes they did get the job done eventually, queensland still did a great job with half a team....i really don't think the queensland side was bothered with their win anyway....lol Some of the takeouts, where a queensland player would have the ball and pass it....and even after he'd passed it, he'd still get pummeled.....that just seemed wrong to me...ESPECIALLY the one with Brent Tate......that was just downright wrong.
  18. First 18 seconds of the game.....one queenslander (ironically the one wearing the number 13) gets knocked out cold and assumes the position.....lol....he was back out on the field in the second half thankfully. All round great game....the try stopper tackle (in the second half i think) was truely amazing...lol
  19. There is already a topic on how to wire these dizzy's up.....however. DO NOT use a bosch gt40 coil....you will fry it like an egg on a hot manifold in about 6 months (i speak from experience). With most electronic dizzy's they need a positive and negative feed from the coil....without the resistor (little ceramic white thing). however you will need to find yourself a coil that does not need to run through a resistor.....grab one off another car similar. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...lectronic+dizzy <------the other thread
  20. Captain Kangaroo on duty.....lol love that last one before he finally sets it down....BOING!
  21. welcome mate..... qantas called, they want their wing back.... lol nah mate, you've put some effort into that.....just not my cup of tea.....props to you though.
  22. yup....was on the news and tv about a month ago....already registered. Keep in mind that people can still call you though.....they have to be one of these exemptions.... Exempt organisations include: * charities or charitable institutions * educational institutions * religious organisations * government bodies * registered political parties * independent members of parliament * political candidates.
