  3. Not for mistreating a Corolla, that's pretty hard to do, aye Toy-yoda!!! But filling a Corolla with rice is unforgivable. I've a PO-PO story! Once when I got pinged doing 84 in a 60 in my white ae71 Spirit. It was a beast lowered on jellies overrated interior. L-WICKED-O! or so the cops thought. They fudged my fine. No details of speed. On my O's when I was on my P's and the fine expired 3 years after the date of issue. Never paid it, never heard anything about it.
  4. Every now and then i'll be talking to someone about the ke20 every so oftensomeone will be like, "why waste you time on that?" or "what a waste of money!" and i'll be all like "go back to bongridge you dommey f@$k!" or "your a f@$kin G-Unit!"
  5. I can't 100% agree with this as its the higher inertia of your vehicle the better. I was travelling in the drivers side rear of a N15 pulsar when it hit the front quarter of a Jeep Cherokee that pulled out in front of us. If our vehicle had of been heavier, more energy would have been transfered into the 4WD instead of the crumple zones of the pulsar. My friends in the front had airbags and escaped with bruises. The inertia was transfered to my corner of the vehicle where I sustained the most injury. If we had been in a ke55 or ke70 we would not have been anywhere near so lucky. My grandparents were killed in Ballina in March this year when their blue VP commodore was struck head on by an identical vehicle travelling well over the speed limit. The P platers in the offending vehicle escaped with their lives. In multi-vehicle accidents speed and weight will work in your favour and against the others. In single vehicle accidents it doesn't help at all.
  6. He didn't specifically say when its in gear so it may not necessarily be the tailshaft... You need to open the bonnet and slightly turn the throttle and see if the engines harmonic balance is out of whack. If the engine revs cleanly without the vibration then its definately in your rear driveline.
  7. Something else to think about.... 5k hydraulic lifters, 156mm datsun pushrods and 4k adjustable rocker gear. You will be able to kill 3-4mm out of the 6mm difference by the adjustable rockers. Assuming preload isn't excessive the hydraulic lifters may be able to take up the other 2mm extra length. Assuming there is no difference in the rocker tower height. BAM!!!
  8. You may want to get onto CraneCams. They may have something you need. 150mm or 5.9inches ball ends. It doesnt have to be a toyota pushrod. You just need the length and ends. I'd also question the lifters and rockers if the pushrods are the wrong length. You say there are variables of all components and it's hard to say if its all the same. I did say in a thread I started, 'K motor pushrod collaboration', that there was at least 4 different pushrods lengths for the 5k engines but changed it after wide criticism from some senior members. I'll buy back what ever you don't end up using out of what I sold you.
  9. That car is sweet as. Keep the front bar. Rare a rocking horse shit..... Keep the corrola look dude. Please don't rice that beast up.
  10. Fortunately we can ALL be the best at controlling our vehicle. Unfortunately we cannot control the other vehicles on the road. That's where the safety is relied on. I've been in a 100kph to 0kph impact crash before and I wasn't driving. But... ...if i'd have had an air bag in front of me, my sternum wouldn't have shattered when it touched my spine, tearing the right ventricle in my heart and compressing 3 vertibrae.... This is the reason I bought a modern Camry for my family to get around in, also the reason I could afford that Camry and the reason I can now build the car of my dreams. I completely agree with you though, 7shades. That's why i'm going classic, not plastic.
  11. Bought a new SD card...
  12. Sounds like the gear he needs. I supplied the pushrods(156mm), lifters and rockers he's using and they came out of my shallow dished 5k. I do believe there is a 6mm difference in head height due to the different size compression chambers between the D dish head and the O dish head. This would be the resulting 6mm difference in pushrod length.
  13. Hopefully finish most of it off for next year and get it on the road. I want to be rollin by early February at the latest...
  14. Got shitloads of pics to upload but can't find the SD card for my phone. Poo Donkeys.... But the story continues. Sorted the diff out. Had to cut the ke20 diff mounts off and replace them 15mm inwards on the 55 diff, allowing me to fit the ke55 boge shockies and now the rear leaf springs are no longer on the piss. That was a mission. Front brakes are finally sorted. Had to machine the 70 rotors 3mm and the hubs 1mm then aris the edge off the inside of the hub flange so it cleared the caliper. I've heard the 30 backing plated were the answer but they weren't readily available. Anyway we made it work. So it's now fluid in it and the brakes seem good all round. Ke55 tail shaft was shortened 25mm and rewelded by dad. Looks the goods and fits even better. The engine is nearly there. Lume is all hooked up, starter, alternator, coil, dizzy, alternator regulator... all except front lights, horns and a few other bits. The head is on, pushrods and rockers in. That Tighe 104 cam has massive lift. Manifold and extractors are on. Got the fan and belt sorted. NGK sparkies and A1 leads. The radiator and support I prepped today so are ready to fit. Getting the solex's rejetted will be the hold up now. Finished the boot. Redone in black carpet and fitted by me. Boot seal, lock assembly all sweet. Started on the new door trims. I'll get the pics up soon as I can, not that anyone really gives a damn..... :cmonkey:
  15. just a small increase from the standard/original system will see an increase in flow, resulting in better economy and better response. doing just the muffler won't have much affect other than noise.
  16. The right angle in the boot would have been fitted for anchor points. For child harnesses.
  17. ...and what induction setup are you running?
  18. Burn.... blown 5k is on the cards for my 20. gonna run the twin siders till I get bored.
  19. If your just gonna throw a couple of bucks at a donk. Cheap and sleazy. Pick up a 4k. Bigger than a 3k and far easier to find than a 5k. Result will be better than a 3k. Or put in the time and the money and do a 5k... 3k are sweet if your car weighs f@$k all and you'v e got the coin to make it sing a merry tune to 9000rpm.... you'd still be better off puting that coin into a 5k~!
  20. ... I say yes!
  21. I'd say they are if the ke30's used girlock calipers.... i know the 55 and 70 girlock calipers are identical.
  22. I know the ke70 rotor as a 20mm larger disc than the 20 rotor. The girlock calipers are also a far superior design than the 20 calipers. I'm not familiar with the ke30 front brake assembly.
  23. I would say the clutch wasn't located properly and is slipping constantly or the flywheel wasn't machined at all specifically the clutch face on the flywheel....
  24. Will do ASAP.
  25. Family and beer around a ke70 hub and rotor. Solution found... ...separate the rotor from the hub. Machine the out face of the rotor 3mm, where the hub bolts on, bringing the rotor outward 3mm to enable clearance between the dust cover and centering in the caliper.
