Not yet. It only happened late this afternoon so haven't had a chance. Just hoping I could get a head start. Repco sounds like a good place... :y:

Unfortunately I broke the grommet that holds the PCV stem in tappet cover. I bought a mini air filter and fitted in on instead but without the manifold vacuuming the crankcase fumes out oil pressure went to shit and smoke started coming out of every orifice of the engine. She's not broken... yet. It only starts after about 1 minute of running so there'll be no more running until I can track down that grommet. Does anyone know if its possible to purchase the grommets or does anyone have a few to spare? Cheers.

I can't say i'm 100% positive on how to install them. Do I use glue or silicon or none at all? Do i fit the seal to the window frame then try and get the windscreen in or do I fit the seal to the windscreen first?
-
I tried to get the windscreens fitted today no chance. That's what I got from both the locals, Windscreens Beaudesert and Evolution Auto Glass. Windscreens Beaudesert are f@$ked. As soon as I said I've got the windscreens and the seals they say they can't help me. Evolution on the other hand are great. I've used them before and I'd believe he is flat out. Because everyone hates Beaudesert....

Put the red tap hat on today. Looks pretty kewl. I took the other hat and dressed it like cinderalla. The cans were $20 each and the TED's were $32 a carton. Problem started when the air valve rubber thingy snapped and I had to drill the plate out from underneath to get it out....SUPER RACE!!! Degreased it and washed the inner with petrol. Steel wool, then a water rinse. Let it dry. A coat of Dupli-colour Ground and 15 minutes to dry in the sun. One coat of blue. Two coats of blue. Three coats of blue. SUPER RACE! Looks like a photoshop.

A lot of people these days are going CA's, SR's and 4A's because they are readily available and parts are easy to come by. All involve a lot of work unfortunately... Just buy the ke70 and drive it. Tweek it here, tweek it there see how you feel. You might not like the car to begin with. There aren't a great deal of eye catching ke70's out there. I hope you've got funk...

Gary is doing it. I caught up with 21-BJF yesterday. He hooked me up with a overrated front bumper, sun visors, indicator stalk, scuff plates and a spare grill with the badge i've been chasing. Mean while I went to wreckers and found absolutely no corolla's older than 1990 so that was pointless. I stopped in a Supershit and picked up a mini air filter for the rocker cover, a CPC oil cap and some Dupli-colour Metal Cast in ground, red and blue. I figured I run with the red first and see how it fly's. I have to say the photos don't do it justice. There is actually a lot of metallic in there. What do you think? I'm thinking of running a catch can but am not entirely sure if its legal or not....

I payed $130 for a Powerdrive 4k timing kit. They didn't believe me when I ordered it and told them what it was going on. They had to look it up and confirm it for themselves. Beenleigh Bearings WILL NOT sell you the wrong stuff. That's why I go there.

Your not saying much for the police in general but good work. Still I reckon if they could of pinged you they would of... all in the name of saving lives. (and making money).

Compression test came in at between 125-130psi on all cylinders.I can't make the conversion but I'd geustimate that at around 9.7:1.
-
A 4k double row timing kit will fit on a 5k.
-
Yep. The wheel arches will be redone in black vinyl.

The hoodlining is done so I can get the windscreens in now. The rear seat is also finished. Decided to change from the loop pile to the cut pile carpet. Shithouse pics. I'll get some better ones when its done.

The RC sticker. On its way for upholstery and the scheme I have chosen. .....still waiting for my carbies

looks wicked man. but I must say that's more than 2 inches in the rear. it did look about an inch an half lower to begin with. I'd say he's gone the 50mm spring in the front, a 2inch block in the rear and an inch in the reset.

Well a formula 3 head wouldd a massive improvement in the beginning. Better annd bigger ports and valves. It also mentions Ivan Tighe of Tighe Engineering, who did the cam for the engine. I think the 115 octane fuel would help the go fast to. The article is well worth the read.

I was at dad's place today prepping the ke20 to go for upholstery and the old man whips out an August 1979 issue of Drag News incorporating a Robbie Butler centre spread on his 13 second N/A 4k Corolla. This is history. I took the time and scanned the arse off this relic and it is here for you in high resolution... ...and it goes to show what we do, ain't nothing new. also note that on the back of this issue is an advertisement for 'Hardiman Extractor Systems'. Tuned length suite Toyota Corolla was $54.50.

I was there I ought to know. You'd see if i'd lied. I've haven't seen a rolla go. Till O-K-E tried. A launch of lightening. The sound of thunder. Bumhole tightening You couldn't wonder. The strip so black. The grip is plenty. Like sniffing smack. Goes the Twenty. BAM!!! :hbang:

First and foremost. Drive it. If it speaks to you "i'm a sex machine" :y: , if it doesn't turn corners by itself and doesn't coff and splutter and doesn't look like the th 3801 chugging down the track, you may have a winner. If it says i'm an abused dog who is likey to chew your nutsack", you can a)negotiate price. b)walk away. c) accept the price and rectify the issues. From there you can judge the car cosmetically. Is it attractive to you. Does it have to be? Is it what your looking for? How is the paint? These are purely cosmetic judgements and just like picking a mate for life it could be an ugly winner, an ugly loser, a hot loser or a hot winner. Its up too you from there.

The heater hoses could be hooked up backwards. There could be gasket goo glueing the thermostat shut. The waterpump could be shizzled. The radiator could be blocked. The 4k you just got could have a headie go bye bye! Badness.
