  1. I'm in for a cruise.
  2. Must be almost time for a southise cruise.
  3. Fixed the alternator mount and a few other things that were bothering me. 5 hours work actually. She goes like the powers of piss. It pulls up hill in 5th from 80kph. Torquey little ʞ©$ɟer and man does it like to rev.
  4. Looks lean to start and richens rapidly. You need find out what jets sizes you have. Then set a base tune, which is the basic starting setting. Being individual runners every cylinder can require an individual setting. So use your spark plugs to determine rich or lean. Black plug is rich, white pug is lean, powderish grey/brown is good. Start with getting your idle right because the idle circuit will affect the entire rev range. At least weber jets are easy enough to get.
  5. Another tune 140/155 mains, 160/185 airs. Heaps better, still a little lean as the secondaries come on so i've got a 165 air corrector coming. Also got some new Champion leads. New exaust today. 2 inch straight through using 15inch glass pack muffler. $170 because I supplied the muffler. Too much power. Broke the alternator mount on the way home. WOOT WOOT!
  6. Theres sets available for 300 on egay at the moment if you search for 'toyota corolla ke20'.
  7. I spent a year trying to get my head around my 5k. Had the Tight 104 grind. Finally admitted to myself it must be the cam timing and decided to pull it out. 1 tooth out. I then attempted to adjust the cam timing with the engine in the car. ʞ©$ɟing nightmare. I snapped the gear locating key out of the cam. ʞ©$ɟed it. ʞ©$ɟ me. ʞ©$ɟ the world. But that was 6 months ago now and with help from the right people and plenty of meds (beer) i'm back on track and working towards a better me.
  8. Tune, tune & tune some more. Waiting on more jets. Spent 80 coins so far. So I should be a weber jet wholesaler by christmas. :pirate: I think I've got it nutted down to 140/150 mains, 185/195 air correctors and 50 idles. What's your opinion on ignition leads? I haven't bought a new set yet for this thing yet. Just using old ones I've had around or pinched from the wreckers. I decided to clean up a set of Bosch Super Sport 8mm leads to swap with the Champion leads I had fitted. The Bosch leads are all the same length where the Champion leads all vary, so i'm wondering if it'll make any kind of difference. Bit of WD40 and some towel and they're like brand new.......minus the white printing that used to reside on the lead. The rear axle is out of alignment so I can't get a front alignment till thats rectumfied. I just used some of my super 20/20 vision power and adjusted the passenger side tie rod till it match the drivers side a bit better. While on my back I gave the old girl another couple of degree of forward caster. Finally i've fitted the home made front strut brace I bought off some random egay seller. Holy ʞ©$ɟ what a difference it has made to the handling. Super duper responsive. Cereal. I'm booked in at Right Price Exaust, Slacks Creek for a new exaust. The home job we done ain't cutting it. 2" system straight through from the extractors. I'm hoping they can use some of the stuff that's all ready there to keep the price down. I was told by a bloke at work who has a 351 Fairlane that it sounds like a lawnmower underwater. A very close analogy.
  9. Woot woot.
  10. Looks sweet as. I would have this car...
  11. Mmm 4dr. That is cool.
  12. I took the rear lowering blocks and took them to Custom Line Engineering where my brother milled them from 50 to 35mm. Sorted most of the scrubbing issues. Yay!
  13. Yeah man. That'd be awesome. Thanks for the love Stu. MMuch appreciated.
  14. Got registered today. Hooray! Had a fueling issue on the way home and died. Sorted that and then got flat battery at the chinese shop in town. The diff hits the exaust over medium bumps, the exaust rattles on the gearbox cross member and the rear wheels scrub. Alot. Man I love my corolla..
  15. Sounds like a vacuum leak. When the throttle butterfly closes after a rev, the vacuum beneath the carb increases, which in turn draws fuel through the idle circuit. If you have a vacuum leak, the manifold vacuum is too low at idle to draw on the idle circuit and she stalls.
  16. Just making a funny hero... where's your sense of humour? I must have missed it. I destroyed 1 new carpet and had to purchase another to get my carpet it. It's not great, but I am content with the fact I gave it my best. It looks good unless your a complete cynic....
  17. Its a ke70 how many sluts will get in during the day and be completely turned off by your carpet? They are more concerned about their carpet turning you off and missimg a free ride...
  18. good work man. get some colour on it!
  19. Had issues with the 32/36 loading up with fuel but have got it sorted. Just pulled the carb apart and put it backto gether again. WIERD! I picked up a ke70 throttle cable. I took out the cable itself and shortened it to fit into the ke20 black cable thingamadoo. Just so I could use the end that fits onto the carb linkage. Bit of chopping and crimping and wazzam! Now using 5/16 fuel lines and machined a new pvc stem for the manifold. The idle ciruit tuned up perfectly but it still misses when you give it a bit of pedal under load. I think Evan is right and it needs bigger air corrections being 165 pri and 185 sec. i'll go a pair of 210's instead (egay). Tax time is here so I think i'm more than ready to drive this car... I'll get it rego'd then get the exaust redone, wheel alignent and then have the rear springs rest so I can lose the lowering blocks.
  20. I gave it a once over when I first got it and have only just got around to putting it on. The needle and seat looked ok. I'll pull it back off tomorrow and see what I can see. I have the feeling the float is ʞ©$ɟed.
  21. the carb is filling to the brim and almost flowing out the top and all the fuel drains through the venturis and into the manifold. I've never seen this happen before.
  22. Running a 32/36 dgv on the 5k with stock fuel pump and with in 5 seconds of firing up the carby starts overflowing. Fuel pours in like Iron Man Food at breakfast time. Even after you turn that shit off, fuel continues to drain into the manifold beacause the carb is so full. I'm thinking needle and seat. Could I need a fuel reg?
  23. I've got this one for sale. I bought it off some guy in melbourne.
  24. Not insured. My sister is fine. She's been driving the rocket since she got her P's last year. Then she crashed it into the arse of a 4x4. A little bit devo. I loved that car.
