  1. This my bible at the moment, but it can't help me with this flooding issue. Ive tuned this carb using this book.
  2. The problem still plagues me randomly. Needle and seat is brand spanking. Usually this isn't a problem but it randomly starts loading up with fuel at idle. Its been doing this afternoon. I pulled the top off the weber and everything is as it should be. Put it back on and seems all good. Then an hour later starts happening again. ʞ©$ɟing annoying.

The blue torolla lives around the corner from me. I tuned it up for them last weekend. 4k,3 speed auto and they want 650 coins for it.
  4. If you can get your hands on an electronic dizzy you only need to remove ballast resistor from your stock coil and shazzam!
  5. sorry man. I would have missed you by like 3 minutes. Didnt think anyone was coming so I cruised it. I'm on prepaid so no internet access and there would have been 40 dero fu<ks in maccas sucking bandwidth with there laptops so I couldnt get in there either.
  6. Still going ahead unless no one turns up at maccas this morning.
  7. There might be something wrong with your eye as you can't see youself going to work on sunday.
  8. We can find grub along the way and there is subway at the top of the mountain if not.
  9. To much indecision will get nowhere. I propose 2 meeting points. Beenleigh Maccas at 9:30 departing at 10 for Tamborine Village arriving at around 10:15 - 10:25. Then head up Mt. Tamborine to Eagle Heights and down the otherside on Tamborine-Oxenford Rd through Wongawallen to Maudsland Rd. Then onto Beaudesert Nerang Rd. to Canungra and back up to North Tamborine. And Break. There is a neat little park in Clagiraba where we can get some photos off the cars and stuff. Total distance is 93km and 1hr 40min plus stops. I'll be waiting at Beenleigh Maccas from 9:30. The ke20 stands out, you'll see it. Hope you can make it, or i'll be rolling solo. http://maps.google.c...=4,6,7&t=m&z=13
  10. CDI refers to capacitors that feed the coil. It acts like a surge tank in a fuel system. Making sure the coil always has a higher voltage input and resulting output than inductive ignitions. CDI is not ideal for modern cars with a lean burning fuel mixture as lean mixtures require a longer spark duration to complete combustion Richer mixtures ignite faster so the CDI's short powerful spark works well in older oily and fuel rich engines. Electronic dizzys produce a better spark than breaker points because they don't have a condensor and points still suffer the effects of physics at higher rpm with or without CDI. Electronic is the way to go.
  11. Electronic distributors use hall effect sensors (magnetic sensors) to trigger spark. They are an inductive ignition system which provide low voltage high current spark just as the break points ones do. No CDI in there. The Hot Spark replaces breaker points with a hall effect sensor when an electronic dizzy is not available.
  12. Doing this once only for filming purposes. Down right dangerous and I could have blown my car up.
  13. If you crank the engine with the lead off the coil it throws a spark the size of a match stick to the negative coil terminal. I've copped a shock a couple of times now and it makes your heart race.
  14. Sorry. I was on the phone before. A shitfone. Ere...
  15. http://www.Hot-Spark...istributors.htm no dice for bosch distributors. Ive been tossing up whether to get one for my dizzy but the points have held up so well. They are 60$ + 30$ postage US coins.
  16. CDI is a capacitor discharge ignition. The unit allows the coil to charge faster than an inductive ignition. The coil can deliver between 9 and 18 volts off a 7 volt charge for example. The sacrfice comes as a shorter spark so timing needs to be spot on. The streetfite delivers continuous spark for 20 degrees of crank rotation up to 3000rpm and the faster coil charging helps with high speed driving.
  17. I'm using a streetfire cdi with a GT40 coil and desno dizzy. Still using the points. Works well. What you want is a Hot Spark. http://www.hot-spark.com/
  18. Woot Woot. Where are we meeting up?
  19. Thanks man. Had a lot of good feedback since she's hit the street. She' fun to drive.

  21. Sunday the 9th. DO iT!
  22. 4k head is the same dude. Your running my old rods, lifters and rockers. Ive got a shallow 5k, solid lifters and a 4kc head. Running about 170-180psi on each cylinder. I worked it out to about 8.7:1
  23. The 9th of September Wonglepong cruise... do it!
  24. I'm keen to get the 20 out for a thunder run. Sooner the details the less chance the misses can ʞ©$ɟ it up for me.
