The wheels are directional, they fit left side only?!?!?!?! :nervous: Will cause vehicle to oversteer uncontrolably if fitted incorectly!

I ran this car in the NSW Supersprint Series back in 1996, thats what i'll do again. These KE17 's are getting a bit hard to get bits for now so open door to door racing events won't be on the agenda!

Dropped of my KE 17 to have the 7K installed. The shop doing the work is usually busy working on other more exotic and expensive racers. They've already done all the sump clearance measurements so as to get the engine as low down as they can, its also being uprighted a little to give the twin webers more room. They're also building some extractors for it, all of the shelf items are made for smaller capacity engines and are a little small in pipe diameter.

Well said, this would be the best definition of the word " overrated ". All those who are about to use the word overrated in a post should refer back to this one before they do. Well Done! :jamie:

Descibe it as being in good original condition except for the modifications, eg. 5K, extractors, bigger wheels etc. When it comes to describing car i consider myself to be an expert. My everyday job is buying and selling late model cars, most of which is done mostly on description and never veiwing the car first. My descriptions have to be spot on, imagine how upset an intertate buyer would be when his $40,000 " overrated " condition BMW turns up and it a piece of shit, he'll be buying no more cars from me. Most of my buyers know if i tell them a cars good, when they get it its usually better than good.

I to agree that the word " overrated " is used to lightly on many descriptions of peoples cars. overrated is AS IT LEFT THE FACTORY. overrated doesn't have rust, tears in the trim, cracks in the dash, or a dent in the beaver panel. Like i said in another post, i've had nearly 300 cars in the last 20 years and only one would i consider to be overrated, my 73 RX 4.Those who actually saw this car were amazed, the new owner who handed over $2#,000.00 for it couldn't believe the car was that good. I don't recon i've used the word overrated to describe any car i've posted on this forum, appart from this RX 4, and i've posted up a few good ones!. My other pet hate is the use of the word " Original ", but we'll discuss that on another day!

Needs bigger tyres, are they 13" or 14" rims?. Needs a set of 15" to fill those guards.

Just arived and hour ago, this was the one on Ebay. Its pretty original and rust free.I just put in a battery and of she went. Needs accelerator cable, so if you've got one i need it! Don't know what i'll do with it, most likely re shell my KE 70 Kahanacross car into it so i can legally use it on the street! :P

Go the yellow stripes over the top of the car,a set of Mazda 626 13" painted white and the car will look loke a 60's retro racer! :jamie:

Extractors, full exhaust and a down drought holley. Also an electric fuel pump cause its just gone through its second pump in about 2 months. A 5K fuel pump to suit a car with air con is very hard to find thats why i'm going an electric option! Here's a pic of my KE11 and KE17 at NRMA Motorfest on Australia Day.

Car actually came from Canberra, i bought it of Canberra Toyota, she had bought it new there back in 1977. Its most likely the same car!

Some updated pics, new wheels & tyres, lowered front coils, re set rear leafs, new rear shocks, a buff n polish and interior clean.

Twin 40ml Webers. Motors already built and sitting on a stand.

Some Mazda 626 or 929/rx4 13" steelies and 185/60 x 13 makes for a much better ride for a daily. Tyre choice is much better as well. You can actually fit the KE 55 centre cap on the Mazda wheel to keep it all factory looking. :hmm:

Most of you have seen my SL Sprinter before, but just picked it up from the sign writer after adding racing stripes and windscreen band. You'll be able to check this car out and my KE 11 this Saturday in the City for NRMA Motorfest. The 7k transplant starts next month. :hmm:
