  1. Changed my work commitments, now heading to Dubbo for the weekend. Haven't been for over 10 years. Most likely in my Lowlux, taking Gavclassic Jnr and push bikes so as to ride around the Zoo. See you all there!
  2. A friend had them is his 323 with Koni shocks, the brake rotors are a little bigger than the KE17 discs and it has the same stud pattern. We only used them because they were there. I'll get some pics up soon.
  3. Well where do i start ?, at the beginning i guess. I purchased this 69 KE10 some 12 years ago as a stock little car powered by a 3K and backed by a 2 speed auto. I gave it to my dad to use as a work hack back then. As the years passed i changed it to a manual, put a KE25 front end in it, added Mazda 323 front struts and brakes, had a full chrome molley cage fitted and had a JTS built 4k installed running twin 40ml Webers. Then i got married, got a mortgage and this project got shelved. About 6 years ago i took the motor out and put in into a KE70 to use as a Kahanacross car and the poor little 10 got left out and unfortunately started to weather away. Now the KE 70 has been scrapped due to rust i've decided to get the KE10 running again with its JTS 4K a 5 speed re installed. Now here's the challenge!, i'm going to rebuild this car into a presentable state with little or no paint and trim repairs, also i'm going to use parts i have in stock. First job is a good clean with the pressure cleaner and degreaser, then look for a replacement white bonnet and boot lid. I'm confident i can turn this poor neglected little KE10 into a respectable head turning Kahanacross car.
  4. Nice!...if your interested i have some NOS front interior door handles.
  5. Finally done, was stoked to take out second place at Al Palmer's show in "Best Interior".
  6. Some pics from the show, and what was parked outside!
  7. KE70 & KE36 are ready to go!, just waiting on another driver to help get them both to the show. See you all there !!!!!
  8. Penrith Pick N Payless is a late model wrecker. Try Northern Road Wreckers between Penrith & Richmond.
  9. Count me in...not sure what to bring though?, perhaps the KE70 or KE36.
  10. Started cleaning it up today, interior done but still have to work out what to do with the faded section of carpet around the gear shift. Removed the plastic from the front door cards because they were looking tatty. Still have to give the old girl a polish and give more time to the engine bay, might have to remove some bits and clean them up to get a decent result.
  11. Only 35,000kms, tyres are nearly new.
  12. Its always a bit of a risk buying a car sight unseen ( except for photos ) but i've always been lucky. I just study the pics, ask heaps of questions and you generally get a feel for the person your getting the car from if they'll genuine or not. Originally i thought the car was in Brisbane and when i found out it was in Cairns made the decision to buy even harder, freight cost was a killer. It seems now if its old and you want it going interstate is just the norm, i won't miss a good car because of the freight cost ( within reason ). Hopefully will get it all cleaned up in time for the Al Palmer show on the 6th March, will also post more pics then.
  13. Its not that i don't like painting cars, i did my KE17 back in 1997. I just don't like putting paint on an original car that's never been painted, i can live with some wear and age marks. Once a car has been painted its no longer original and its also very hard to have an old car painted to make it look like original paint. And anyway is costs to get cars painted and you'll rarely get your money back for your time and effort, if i lost money on every car i've sold i could'nt afford to do what i do.
  14. Just turned up yesterday arvo, gave it a quick wash and cleaned the windows and took some average pics this morning. This one owner 74 KE36 wagon has only done 35,000kms, came from a 96 year old lady in Cairns. Apart from a small paint touch up at the end of the left front guard all the paint is original, trim is great, dash perfect, carpet has faded a little around gear shift, rear bumper has small dent left side and still had the plastic on both front doors until my son thought he would un-rap the door trims for me. Usual plans of a major detail, but this one will remain 100% stock and original. Will post better pics later and will hopefully get it ready for the Al Palmer show next month.
  15. NICE!!, was that the one on Ebay a couple of weeks back?.
  16. Found this 85 Corona at the same auction room where i found that SA63 Celica. This one owner Corona has only done 93,000kms has cold air con and power steering and this is how i bought it, hasn't even been washed yet!. Paint and trim are excellent, no rust and drives great. Will most likely move it on but not after i take it to the Al Palmer show next month.
  17. Welcome! & Nice find |blink| . Just a hint, leave the trim alone !!!. Original trim like that will be hard to replace. Lowered a little, 14" steelies from a RA series Celica with factory center caps and a black rear window venetian. Keep it simple doesn't cost a lot to have a cool little head turning ride. Also if you haven't got heaps of $$$$ keep the engine stock, its muck cheaper to run and maintain.
  18. Have a factory set of CSX plush trim and CSX tacho dash to suit if your interested?
  19. Always thought these little Renault R10's were a bit unique, so when this one appeared on Ebay i thought what the heck lets give it a go. This car has had only 2 previous owners, the first 1970-1992, second 1992 till now. Its only done 59,000miles and apart from some minor paint touch ups early in the 90's by the second owner it all original. I've spent the last 2 days pulling it apart to clean, not as easy as a KE10, but i enjoyed the challenge. There was no rust to be found and most of the paint has held up well. These Renaults are rear engine 1100cc, 4 on the floor with 4 wheel disc brakes with an IRS rear end. The car is actually quite fun to drive with a great little exhaust note. Plans are to get another set of 15" steelies widened to 6" and fit some 175/55 x 15 tyres, the original cheese cutters are 135SR 15's on 4" wide rims, fit some CIBIE driving lights to the front bar and lower the front a little.
  20. Lowering it a little, extractors and a nice little 1'1/4 system are all fine!, Old Skool mods are ok by me ! :)
  21. Actually have a set of 14 x 6.5 CSA 5 spokes getting painted in a charcoal colour which may go on. I've just done a run to Nowra and back this morning and still can't get over how good these cars are as a daily driver. Happily cruzed at 110 -120kph, had to drop back to 4th on long hills, $30 got me half a tank of Premium 98 which returned me 320kms which works out to be about 6.5lts per 100kms. The car was comfortable and handled good as well. Oh What A Feeling !! :)
  22. Nearly done, so far replaced front struts, rear shocks, King springs front & rear, Pedders rear sway bay, custom made extended lower front arms with new bushes and 15x7 Rial alloys with new rubber.
  23. Good reason for a Rollaclub cruze to this event. if anyone want to come from interstate have a spare room available, i'm only about 35mins from eastern Creek.
  24. Nice :D , if its rust free you've done well! :D
  25. Brake ducts are just cable tied on and are there 24/7. I run supersprints in class 3B.
