  1. Car is owned by an Ian Gyles, he's had the car for about 10 years i think. It had about 17,000 when he bought it. There would be non better its quite amazing!!!!!!!!! :P
  2. I priced genuine red wall tyres, about $1300 a set. A bit $$$$$$$$$$ i thought!
  3. Its a staight six 215/3.5.
  4. I've been working on this one for the last 3 months, its certainly different from most of the Jap Classics i usually play with. Its been fun to have a so called " Aussie Muscle Car ", still not as nice to drive as an old Toyota.
  5. Bought this one on Ebay last week. Was sold new at Canberra Toyota back in 1977 and traded last month on a new 2007 Corolla. Its a one owner 5 speed with air con that works great and its only done 110,000kms. The bonus was when the car turned up last night i checked the engine to see if it was the original 3K and discovered it was a 5K. I'll post more pics after it get the new wheels and suspension job. Have a set of 14x7 Rebel Wheels, lowered King front springs and new struts as well as re set rear leaf springs, a down draft webber, extractors and sports exhaust all waiting to go on.
  6. Its a Publica ute, Al Palmer here in Sydney has one for his workshop runaround. he imported it from Japan a few years back. Most people think its a 1200 ute. There is a Publica wagon on Ebay for sale at the moment in Victoria. :)
  7. I buy and sell new cars for my everday job, i buy and sell these older cars to fund my hobby. I really just love keeping all the old cars going, hate to see them go to waste. I've never been afraid of knocking on a door or leaving notes on cars, eventually you do get a call. Lately, because i've been playing with these old cars for many years, people now come to me with their old cars. They just want them to go to a good home to someone that will look after them. I usually buy a car wave my magic wand over it and then find it a new loving home. I still get calls from people who have bought cars of me years before who are still wrapped in their purchase. I always tell them if they need help or part ring me, i'll always try to help them out. Not all the cars are overrated, most are just good original examples. Most of the time i'm the second or third owner of a car.
  8. The novelty has worn of a bit, but as long as they don't clutter up the front yard she's ok. She's had a few cars herself including an 4AGE AE 86 Sprinter, KE 55 Coupe, KE 17 SL Sprinter ( pictured) and she's still got a Harry Potter 105E Ford Anglia.
  9. The mini was originally a 66 model Deluxe, it now runs full Cooper S running gear including a turbo charged 1330 motor. The bonnet vents are VH Commodore, helps to get rid of the ubder bonnet heat. I finnished building this one about 15 years ago.
  10. The RX 4 is a 12/73 sold new in 74, it was the first of the 13b models. I was the second owner, the car had travelled just 32,000 miles.
  11. Most of you have seen pics of the Toyotas i have so i thought i'd post some of the non Toyotas. Some i still have some have been sold.
  12. The guys buying these car arn't enthusiasts like you and i, they're investors. The money they make is tax free, at some stage they'll decide to sell and move they're money into shares or property. You never see them at car shows or chatting onling about there latest ride. When they decide to bale the market will fall back to an affordable level for the genuine car enthusiast.
  13. Picked up this 1970 model RT81 Corona on Ebay last weekend in Queanbeyan. Its a bit odd because its got the factory SL tacho dash & 120mph speedo as well as the factory sports SL steering wheel. Runs the original 1500 & 4 speed. Looking for a good dash top if anyone knows of one.
  14. Here's a pic of the front page of Saturdays Cars Guide in the NSW Telegraph Newspaper. The car on the cover is my old 67 KE 10 which was recently sold. Car has my personalised plates on it, Toyota took some pics of it a few years ago for the launch of the new Corolla back in 2001.
  15. Great Job, Never been a fan of clearly visable intercoolers but it still looks good. :hmm:
  16. Thats Funny!!!!!!!!!, I Luv It !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hmm:
  17. Last one for today!
  18. And another!
  19. Thanks Guys!, New Camera, still havent worked out how to down size pics so here'e another!
  20. I bought this 1970 KE 11 about 7 years ago from the original owner. Only had about 49,000 miles its now done 53,000, it came with original purchase papers, owners manuals and sales brochure. The car had spent its whole life at the same address always garaged. Except for cleaning the engine bay, repainting the wheels and adding the Castrol Green stripes the car is pretty much as i bought it. Except for a small repair to the left rear quarter all the paint is original so to is all the interior. In all my time playing with KE1# series Corollas i have never seen a cleaner more original one!!
  21. Here are some pics, so far about 8 hours to strip and clean. From here on its cleaning all the small stuff and putting the car back together.
  22. Keep it the original white with a black bonnet and the white RX4 rims, some black bullet style guard mirrors and paint the boot panel behind the number plate black as well. Go for that Retro Race car look. Nearly forgot the Castrol Green windscreen band. Here's a pic of my Crown with the Castrol Green windscreen band.
  23. I'm not baging the Corolla, but compared to the big dollar Phase III GT's, Mustangs, XU1's and RX 2's its still just a Corolla. I would'nt want to race anythin else, even if the budget was unlimited.
  24. I'f you've seen the quality of cars racing in the Historic Nc class its like a classic racing car show. Only last year the Pete Geoghan Mustang sold for around the $300,000 mark. The resto on this car cost the previous owner around $250,000. I know i'm only going to be racing a Corolla but the presentation and quality has to be first class.
