  1. Hey guys, been too sick to work on the ke lately, went back out to align the clutch, using my "special" clutch alignment tool, turns out i have NOOOOOOO idea how to use it......i've got a pic of the thing, and there's multiple little nobs that u can use. I can't seem to use any of the nobs to be able to hold the clutch disk in one secure location....on the box it just shows some dude sticking the tool in the clutch, not much help :bash:
  2. So its pretty wet, and very windy tonight, what scary stuff has happened to people and their cars in these sorts of conditions??
  3. Hey mate i think its a T-50 gearbox your looking at, comes in an AE71, from a 4A-C engine. GL
  4. Yeah i only took mine down to 6kg, I'm not after a powerhouse atm :P. Sucks being sick, can't find the energy to lift that gearbox back up into the car -_-, hopefully tomorrow night maybe :P
  5. Hey dude that worked like a charm, now trying to replace the seals, the one where the tail shaft meets the gearbox, how would i go about replacing that one?? Thanks
  6. hahaha cheers man, ill give it a whirl now
  7. ooook so ive cleaned up my gearbox, gotten my flywheel resurfaced, now time to change over bits. How do i go about getting the release bearing off so i can replace it?, it doesn't wanna budge off of its thing its on, is there something i'm missing or do i just need to try harder?? thanks
  8. ill eat my weetbix tomorrow morning, and then ill do my best to get those bolts off!, I CAN DO IT!!! :P , also cranking eye of the tiger will help!
  9. I kinda know the area he lives/lived in, but yeah, i called up the enquirers hot line, and the dude said to fill out the stat dec and fingers crossed, hopefully it all goes swimmingly....but hey wont be forgetting to fill out the form again that's for sure! Woooo found his number on my phone!, all is well now :P
  10. lol ok so its all going pretty well considering i can only get short periods to work on it, got gearbox out, and your right Taz, its light as. So this arvo got back from school, got the clutch out. So i've been told to get my flywheel resurfaced, atm it looks worn and i can see the need to get it resurfaced. I had a quick shot at loosening it, but alas now i have to get ready for work. Problem being how do i loosen the bolts holding it on, without the bloody thing moving, when removing the clutch plate i just hit the spanner with a hammer and that loosened em, can't seem to do it with the flywheel, might be something simple but ya kno.....first time for everything :P. Would a clutch change guide/gearbox removal guide be good for the ke70 faq section?, or would it be a bit of a useless thing. Cos if someone reckons its a good idea i coild get pictures and write up a guide on how to do so.....just my 2cents worth
  11. yeha i might try and look through the attendance books at school, might be able to prove i was in lesson?
  12. lol my bad, other way around, the months are too similar >.>
  13. na i totally forgot about it, first time selling my car, and that bit had been torn off of the rego slip already and been lost somewhere dunno where, my bad -_-
  14. Ok, so i sold my old car about 2 months ago, forgot to send in the slip saying that i sold it, who to etc etc(was so happy to be getting some cash -_-), but he filled out his half with his details and mine. So now a speeding fine has come in for 27th of july, but i sold it start of june...., i don't have a leg to stand on do i?, only slightest piece of evidence i sold it was a text message to my mum(lol) on the 13th of june..... :P what do i do!!! whaa
  15. ahahah sweet as, i like to think i have a bit of muscle!, i might get my slightly stronger mate to come round and help me out, i had a feeling that it was a pretty light gearbox, but didn't want to find out when it was on top of my arm or something!
  16. How has anyone lowered the gearbox outa their cars....ive done it previously with a hydralic jack, but i can't get the gearbox to sit nicely on this jack.... -_-, ah the joys of a shed with tools that barely do the job
  17. uh, how the hell do i go about disconnecting the clutch cable?, i can't really see anyway of getting it off of the bellhousing thanks
  18. lol its started raining!!!, id join if my gearbox and tailshaft were uhh....connected ^_^
  19. Ok taking the gearbox off, all going pretty smoothly, just a question. I think its the starter motor??, is connected to the gearbox, i've bailed for the night (bloody family dinners digging into my car time! lol) and wont get back to it untill tomorrow arvo. enough banter, my question is, will this just come off of the gearbox when i remove the bolt which is connecting it to the gearbox housing, or will i have to remove some other bolts? Thanks guyz!
  20. ahaha cheers, figured i couldn't really go wrong anywhere, thanks again
  21. Ok called the mechanics today, gonna cost 650 -_-, screw that, ill do it myself. Now what will i need -Hydraulic jack -Wheel ramps -Clutch Kit -Spigot Bearing What should be used to clean it all up?, also what about a clutch alignment tool, is this necessary. Is the job pretty straight forward, as far as i know it is, just from looking at gearboxes and replacing them, although i've never had to replace the clutch. Just wanna be prepared for any sort of mishaps i might have, or any odd bits. Thanks guys
  22. dude, me and my mate noticed that as well, we were standign there waiting for subway pointing out the corollas, the ke70 and 55 both look in too gooda nic!
  23. They're such a great example of a "tough" Japanese 4cyl, screw the American muscle when you have a Corolla
  24. be such a nice car, bloody japs keepin it to themselves
  25. shicko, i was considering taking it to the mechanics, buy all of the parts myself and get them to fit it if they agree, middle of year twelve isn't the best time to spend a day cleaning the car up....as nice as it would be to do it myself. I have a feeling that my seal might be leaking, nice moist patch around it.
