  1. Roight, small update. Spent this morning prepping the car for tomorrows hillclimb! Should be bags of fun, my first time out there. Put in a fire extinguisher, blue triangle, got myself a helmet, and checked the car over. Also put on a black windscreen banner, courtesy of Devine Digital (http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/forumdisplay.php/104-Devine-Digital-Custom-Stickers). I did this to stop early morning and late afternoon glare. Works a treat so far!
  2. Dude I'd be pretty tempted to buy it (providing its in decent nick) 4age's are quite simple and even if you havent done much wiring/ecu work before you should be able to sort it. Especially considering the wealth of knowledge on the net. Could be a few things, faulty wiring, dead dizzy rpm sensor, dead coil
  3. Or do you mean the gear on the dizzy Alec? If so you need to pull the dizzy out, use a long screw driver to turn the oil pump just a little bit, then put the dizzy back in. Boom. The dizzy can go in anyway, as long as the oil pump thingo is right and vac advance unit don't get in the way. Pull the dizzy out, rotate the rotor 180 degrees, slot back in. Will definately loudly backfire if dizzy is 180 degrees out.
  4. What the other guys have said^^. Without a proper muffler on the end you'll go deaf. hot dogs take out some of the droney note, make it a bit deeper. My worked 4K had a hot dog and a decent sports muffler (no idea brand/model), it was tested at more than 70dB at 20+ metres!! When I had passengers they complained about not being able to hear anything :lolcry:
  5. Sounds to me like dizzy is 180 degrees out

    '67 Ke10

I know of a KE10 with an r31 diff. Wouldnt you have to get an AE86 or T series shortened anyway? So r31 might end up similar in cost
  7. Thanks sloth I'll pm you pics! I started cleaning this today, engine bay came up ok so I'll show you lads the powerhouse. That and everyone loves photos! Still need to cut/polish/wax everything. I have OCD tendencies when it comes to a clean engine bay lol And then I got bored... Tried my hand at light painting For some reason when I resized it, it chucked a skitz so the exposure looks wrong.. its not tho
  8. So whos good with photoshop? :P I'm kinda tempted to buy some buddy club p1's, not sure how charcoal would look with red... They weigh like 6kg which is pretty good. Should weigh the current wheels
  9. Thats so crap man! Finding a tailgate might be a challenge. Theres an ae71 at queanbeyan auto dismantlers, can't remember the condition of the bumpers.. Rear would fit yours yeah? And theres those KE70's at the jap wrecker Actually they also had a wagon
  10. ^ Lol that would be great, and definately leave the GSi decal haha So the other day I repaired a couple of rust sections, the main one being the rear passenger guard. There was a lovely rust hole covered with electrical tape! So I cut that out, repaired the inner wheel well (rusted thru both) then made up a new bit and welded it in. Rezult: No before or progress shots sorry! Need to fix that bumper and repaint the fuel lid  Theres another 5 or 6 rust bits to repair, hopefully I'll get them done soon
  11. Ta, have some more to use haha! Thanks! I've been watching your thread pretty closely, mines got rust too! Indeed, although I'm trying to restrain myself from going overboard :rolls: Definately handles better than my last fwd, which had a tendency to understeer then snap oversteer :lolcry:
  12. First on making this a fun car was to ad a loud and obnoxious exhaust; Check! Exhaust is 2 inch (or maybe 2 1/4) from the cat to a hot dog then to this cannon (which was in the boot when I bought it). Pretty homo but eh its an ae82.
  13. So this is my new car, will be using it for daily duties and maybe a bit of fun on the side Not too exciting atm... Specs: stocko bigport Monroe gas shocks Pedders low springs (dunno what specs are?) cat back exhaust Its replacing my KE70; This had a worked 4k on twin dellortoes, coilovers, loud exhaust, the usual stuff. Made for a fun everyday car! So my plan for the AE82 is to make it a fun daily, because at the moment its crushing my soul :) Its approx 10-15km slower than the KE thru an 80km roundabout, and has a lot more body roll! So thats where I'll start. I'm thinking Good tyres, maybe re001 castor bushes front camber bolts a decent wheel alignment rear swaybar Thanks for looking! Feel free to comment/ lol/ feed me some ideas etc
  14. 4K out of a forklift have thicker bores. Or just sonic test blocks till you find a usable one :P
  15. Hi, have a 4age ecu and loom to suit KE70! Bigport, with coil and ignitor pm me if keen, ta
  16. Yeah put a spacer under the engine mount! 10mm seems typical from memory? If it still doesnt fit maybe get a hammer out? Hahaha
  17. I definatley agree with this bit, you arent going to learn good control by sliding one corner at a time on the street (plus its just dodgy). Track time then good tyres all round then suspension then diff and clutch then more power Thats the way I see it anyway.
  18. Replace visor with window banner. Maybe just a plain black one to not attract to much attention lol
  19. Basically (any dia) x 8 0 offset will fit with minor lip rolling, maybe a little guard stretching depending on tyre and height
  20. Sweeet!!! I've bought an AE82 twincam...
  21. Hey does anyone have a 4age headgasket they don't need? Figured I'd ask here first
  22. AE71 sedan for T50 to borgy And going by what Trev and Sam say AE71 wagon for T50 to S?? But presumably you can mix and match with both the 86 and 70 tailshafts depending which way you want to go. You wont be able to use the KE70 front half.
  23. Both. Definately both.
