  1. Crowie, its not just the Gold Coast, they're everywhere! Anywho, WGMG is when people only just miss colliding with my car as I am coming out of a car park EXIT, as they drive in (yes into a clearly marked EXIT) and then procede to look at me as if I'm an ignorant young male who likes being a jerk and sitting in the middle of the exit, and I'm in the wrong.
  2. All of them cool... That quad light coversion is Sweet! Looks ace, though I didn't realise you get snow in FNQ :P
  3. No way, that shit'll buff out. Anyway, isn't that what bog is for?
  4. Don't worry, not all us younguns think along those lines :P Agreed that drifting around consistent radius corners is for the weak and rally is the sick and requires mucho kahunas.
  5. WOO another thread on flywheel machining! Don't worry, I just have a simple question: What is the height of the step supposed to be? The workshop manual doesn't specify..
  6. You can have my Stout for free. All you have to do is come get it and take it away, at which time it will fall apart. But its free.
  7. Top Gun isn't that great, no offence. But yeah, they really should be good enough. Dunno bout the spark plugs, pull them out, thouroughly check for cracks and look at the colour etc, clean and gap them chuck them back in. Maybe you should try swapping the coil for another one.
  8. Leads shorting out maybe? I've seen engines where the leads weren't only shorting out across each other, but they were also arcing across to the extractors beneath them. Lightnings in the engines bay! Was happening at higher rpm, maybe because the leads couldn't support that much current.
  9. My Corolla has a chain mounted beside the centre console so the gear lever can be locked in 4th or reverse. Probably only stops the little punks taking it cos they can't stop laughing at it..
  10. I would recommend getting a good gasket set. Sure, its $250 odd, but mmm quality. The main cost is the head gasket, which is fair enough, its pretty important. You get what you pay for and a crap head gasket will be a pain in the bum bum. My 4age had a crap one. Whoever put it in had to drill holes for the water jacket ports cos there weren't any.
  11. 11 sounds good to me. How far we go might depend on numbers who show up. Speaking of KE70 probs, mine has a head gasket leak :lolcry: Should be ok though. See you there, Bart.
  12. I have a 192. Yeah good and stuff. Problem is 300hp is about the limit with red motors, then the bottom end will fall out. 4age's can make 300hp, albeit with less torque.
  13. 202's are for peasants. Use as much fuel as a 253 but half the powahs. And it'd be less effort to put a v8 in than having a six sitting partially in the cabin. Don't get me wrong, I like mouldy Holden 6 bangers, but the design is flippin ancient, and not made for huge powahs. So a v8 would be easier.
  14. Sounds good, as long as there is 2 or 3 weeks notice beforehand, none of this last minute rush dribble where no-one turns up.
  15. Went back to Jap Parts today looking for a T50 gearbox, the guy running the joint didn't even know there was an AE71! So I looked around but coundn't find one, although I'm no T50 expert finderer. Had a look at the cars out the back too, and the most exciting thing there apart from the wagon with a "sik, drift spec" wheel was an early 300zx. Oh, and the gearbox would have costed around 275 dorrars.
  16. Sorry! Didn't really have a thourough look, and only had eyes for ke70's basically. If I go back soon I'll make sure to have a good look and let you know. So yeah, nothing there to catch my eye really.
  17. I paid $35 for the dash, pulled it out myself. I don't think they have anymore, there were a couple of clock dashes in the wagon, but it might be worth a look. Not sure if Jap Parts is selling up? I saw an ad in the Canberra times walk in walk out. I suppose it means cheap parts for us if we're quick. Also, thinking about getting struts from them, I was told $155 for struts with brakes from a RT142. These are similar to XT130's aren't they?
  18. Went to Japparts in Queanbehole today, found they have a couple of KE70's if anyone needs parts. Ones a slanty front 4K sedan, and the other is a flat front wagon. They might have more, didn't have a real good look. I think I was the first person to take stuff from the sedan too, so lots of parts there. Yay! I now have a tacho dash!
  19. Fit Start Ya Bastard injection. And by that I mean take the air cleaner off and spray it in with engine running /rev it a bit to clean the carby cos sometimes the rocker cover fills with oil at revs and doesn't drain quick enough. And then you end up with oil in the carby.
  20. I'll be up for a cruise to the Cotter. Never driven it myself but am told its the shiz and the hip happening place to be.
  21. Yep they sure are reversable! lefty loosey 1 way, flip spanner over and righty tighty. Cunning, hey? The spanners have floppy ratchet ends which is great for really tight spots. They don't have a ratchet open end though, which can come in handy where you can only access one side of a bolt.
  22. My most recent aquisition for the toolbox was a set of metric ratchet spanners made by Toolex (supposedly made in same factory as Sidchrome). Mmm, ratchety goodness, makes tearing things apart really quick.
  23. This is what you really want... http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/05_0...805_468x472.jpg Although I'm not sure if you'd be taking it for a walk..
  24. I reckon $530 is a bit much to pay, I got my kit for $200, although it wasn't for a k. Only difference would be maybe a water pump pulley spacer and the belt though? Bought mine at the 'Nats, they wanted $300 I think. Also, for those who already have a gilmer on their k series, do you know what size the belt is?
  25. Good, at least one person found something useful. :bash:
