  1. Heres a walk through guide on converting 4age to 1sz solid buckets http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.p...ght=4age+lifter from Takai on toymods
  2. Look on toymods, theres heaps of info on there on how to do shim under bucket conversions. You can use buckets from other Toyota engines, I *think* the 1NZFE engine is what I'm thinking of. These are solid from memory, ie just a bucket, not bucket and shim, and you can get them direct from Toyota Edit: Toda sells a kit too.
  3. LOL. Yeah Evan gets a fair bit o shit thrown at him. Sig worthy, hope you don't mind Bamboo!
  4. True, this was part of the problem I had before. I really should replace the radiator cap, it can leak a little. Evan, my temp guage is consistent, even though it doesnt give an accurate temp indication. So I'll leave it for now at least.
  5. Ah, just read this.. Mine has a reconditioned radiator, ie full clean, and end tanks rebrazed early 2009. Didnt fix mine...
  6. Ok, so I have rebuilt and installed my new engine, its pretty much run in now too. Still gets hot on 30 + days, although the temp only increases from the 1st line (normally sits here) to halfway. Gets hot when sitting at over 3750 rpm. Having the heater tap open helps, didn't replace water pump or anything cooling related (has new thermostat though). Coolant doesn't get blown out the radiator cap like it used to, so thats a plus haha. So new rad cap may help, and pump. Seems to me like an inherent issue with K engines, I don't really like how the coolant is supposed to flow between head and block, the headgasket doesnt allow for efficient flow (just my opinion).
  7. But rain means sweet dori action?
  8. Don't wire it up, throw it in the bin where all monster tachos belong. Anyway, from memory, neg coil, powah, negative, and lights wires should come from the back of ze tacho
  9. FTO seats are pretty comfy in my opinion, although the recaros have better bolster/lumber support. So I'd probably go the FTO seats, as a better everyday and occasional thrash seat, and much more cost effective really. And they look good. Coming along nicely! |blink|
  10. Valve clearance?
  11. Some KE70's have sealed beams, some don't. Mine had sealed beams, so I got new housings and bulbs.
  12. I lowered my KE70 probably a little more than 2 inches, it was ok with the stock panhard rod, not ideal though. If you run tyres close to the guards it would become a problem
  13. I'll be at work, sorry Vince. Sounds like you'll have enough hands anyways! Sounds like this is coming along nicely!
  14. Thanks for that chappo, haha yeah I would feel so homo walking in there. If I do get some I'll have to get an injected sticker too lol. If you don't mind me asking, how much did they cost?
  15. hmm not sure really, about 1400, with exhaust and carbies inluded closer to 2000 Was thinking I might just get someone to bend up the pipes, then weld and fit it myself so its how I want it. Or bodge chappo's old one. Not sure where to go for extractors? Saw some new ones for 160, can't remember brand though.
  16. Wondering if anyone has some 14 or 15 inch wheels they want to sell. Not after anything fancy really, just need something bigger than 13s. Can be a pair or full set, I've got a good set of S13 alloys that would be fine except I don't really want to run spacers. But if anyone has like 25mm? bolt on spacers laying around I'm interested
  17. I rebuilt the 4K that was originally in the car 50 thou overbore, new pistons obviously, Mild cam, minor headwork 3 angle valve seats and general combustion chamber clean up deck faced, head faced
  18. Well the stock exhaust and carby are choking the new engine badly, and the stock carby is really a PITA! I'm fitting twin carbs, and to do so I need extractors (for clearance) and this means a new exhaust as well. (can modify yours, welder + me = mad fab skillz) So size doesnt bother me too much, just need to do something to fix it and then when its sorted I might get a proper exhaust made for it. Pretty flat out at the moment, I'll probly send you a pm to work out a time soon Chappo. Keen to help out if I can Tommo, turbo sounds good!
  19. These would look hot in my opinion Impul Hoshino G5 - Ebay
  20. I actually prefer the polished centres, contrasts nicely with the dark paint. Although painted centres look deeper if you get my meaning. Love three spokes
  21. Have a look on Twincam.org, there are lots of later model corollas on there
  22. 4age? Surely not already Probably working, but if I'm free I'll come around Hey Chappo, so I kinda need an exhaust, soonish anyway, mind if I have a looksee in a week or three? Cheers Bart
  23. Nup
  24. This seems as good a place as any to ask, Can I use a KE55 exhaust on a KE70 with minimal modification? Now, I don't mind chopping and welding here and there, I'm mainly curious as to if the 55 exhaust would have similar bends and length. I am unfamiliar with the KE55 floorplan, guessing that the exhaust would at least need a section welded in before the diff, and bends 'adjusted'? From the header flange back. Cheers
  25. Hahaha wheres the oil? Is that one of those exhaust bypass valves?
