  1. I thrash the absolute bajebus out of mine, still get 450km out of a tank easy. Last week it used a crapload more fuel, reason: fuel pump dying slowly. Fuel everywhere :( Might be worth a check PS mine sits on more than 3500rpm most of the time (highway)

    Hill Climb

    Fire extinguisher?
  3. I put a 4age one on the other day, a ryco z386 from memory
  4. See that one at CIT sometimes
  5. I GAVE UP READING HALF WAY. ah caps lock off, much better. Slanty front is slightly longer. Not bigger, why would it be slightly bigger
  6. Shouldn't be hard to find a good second hand one, and it will bolt straight in
  7. A Nardi will suit this well. Neat!
  8. Both. It is only 1.3 litres after all, 2 inch is big enough for engines much larger. As the exhaust gas gets further along the pipe it cools down, shrinking as it cools. This basically makes it harder to move, as the velocity drops. So a smaller exhaust keeps the gas speed up and gets it out the end of the pipe faster.
  9. Cool! The first drive must have been awesome even with issues. Sounds like a fuel issue to me, maybe blockages in the carby. The carby has had the float set properly, tuned etc hasnt it?
  10. And what, run it on methanol? I hope you were joking Going to a 4K head isnt the best option, unless you wanted to drop the compression. To make any use of a larger cam or worked head you will definately need a better carby. Or what seabiscuit said, 5K. Good place to start
  11. Cool should be heaps of fun in either car Much corolla stuff at goulburn Sam?
  12. Not at this stage. 4age would still be slow, still weighing up options. Unlikely I'll do any conversion, I think I'll just finish the 4K and suspension with this corolla. PS everything still here, want it gone. Also, I have 2 complete gasket kits for Holden red 6, unopened brand new with receipt! Unlikely that anyone wants it on rollaclub but yeah Will probably move my ad to the for sale section this week
  13. Yup, timing is usually the cause :) Its a stretch but you should be able to reach the ignition key with one hand and the dizzy with the other. Adjust the dizzy while cranking and hopefully voila, it runs (assuming dizzy is correctly installed).
  14. While I'm not familiar with these engines, I'm pretty sure the camshafts have to come out
  15. Hey yeah it is too. I'm going to that. Are you entering Steve?
  16. Same :) Sorry Sam! Damn thats no good seabiscuit. Electrical problems are the worst Keen to do something in early april
  17. Hahaha true, I've replaced it with a working one today to replace the overclocked old one. Cheers ;) phew, I was a bit worried philbey had lost it, but all good
  18. Bad idea to make it real tight. Sure it'll make more noise, but you'll stuff your water pump bearings real quick. Positive engagement, so making it tighter wont help it transmit more power.
  19. Hey Moses, sounds like a cool wagon, I'm sure we'll all want to see some photos :) Welcome, and it would be good to meet you on a cruise some time. I'm not sure if you can 'chip' a stock 4age ecu as such... but have a search around for sure. The TVIS control thing? Do you mean the cylinder sorta thing, cos I've got 2 of them.
  20. Yeah I went for a bit, walked straight past the fonzzy celica damn it! haha Some interesting stuff there
  21. Looking at selling my 4age and what rwd conversion parts I have. Sort of an EOI, not too worried if this stuff doesn’t sell, but really it’s just taking up space and I’ll probably never do anything with it. There may be parts and/or details I’ve missed, these bits have been sitting in my shed for the best part of a year. If you are interested in anything please feel free to send me a pm. Canberrans (and close-ish) get first dibs, thats why I have posted here first. Not too keen on sending large stuff like this. 4age 3 rib bigport 40mm big ends Comes with new gasket kit, head bolts and big end bearings (bearings are installed) all quality parts RWD water pump, this is virtually new, absolutely no corrosion on the impeller RWD water fittings, the one that bolts onto the head and the pipe from the pump to rear of engine 2 bigport heads, both seem pretty good, one I have dismantled. Both have 3 or 5 (can’t really remember) angle valve seats on the intake (not sure if this was a factory thing). One of the heads has had the combustion chambers cleaned up a little, to get rid of those nasty hot spot areas. The other is stock. Basically, the engine is 50% assembled (thoroughly cleaned). If you want a really tight engine you may want to bore it/new pistons. But the pistons and ring lands are fine, I was going to build this, get it running then go full house essentially. So put head on, fit manifolds and accessories and you’d be off and racing. AE71 Sunroof – genuine ae71 item. I lost 1 small rubber strip, should be an easy profile to match though Pedal box – yes a manual hydro, needs sandblast & paint Crossmember – 4a x member, needs sandblast & paint Tailshaft - T50 to borgy diff Steering Column – pos really, good for indicator stalk etc Steering Rack – needs rack boots, untested Front Suspension – just stock, complete struts with brakes lca swaybar etc. Shocks most likely fubared. S 13 5 spoke Alloy Wheels – these ones actually look nice, unlike most S13 wheels. Very good condition, just need a clean. All centrecaps, 2 directional tyres, 2 very bald tyres. VL Spoiler - has built in LEDs! Also, I may swap some of these for parts of interest. PM me. Thanks
  22. One of my lofty life ambitions is to drive in targa tas. Must be cool living down there  Will have to watch love the beast soon heh. Also, its bambino isnt it?
  23. Weld square tube to nut, use shifter to undo. Bewdy mate! But then your nuts are stuffed
  24. Ok the engine guy wasnt at his workshop today, so I'll have to go there some other day, hopefully this week.
