  1. Philbey means all the electrics that go along with the 7K efi system. Carby could be easier to set up initially, depending on carburettor choice, but efi, as previously said, will most likely be a better long term choice.
  2. Saw Urthboy last night, they put on an excellent show. Mantra and DJ Wasabi did a good set beforehand, it was good to see all of them doing some diverse stuff as well
  3. As in floor mounted for reach adjustment?
  4. Why FE2? From memory 343113 is the fe2 part number... And I think they may be shorter? Could be wrong. Did this ages ago And a little firmer Evan - fair play, but excel g's arent too bad. can't say Ive had experience with gas ryders
  5. I got impatient and bought 'tuned length' extractors for over 300. Was pretty pissed off when they didn't fit properly! Havent got it done yet, but ~about 450 for extractor back 2inch system. Evan how is a ported head a supporting mod for extractors. Other way round bud yeah?
  6. Yeah I concur Why?
  7. What, like yours?
  8. I have used 343113 as well. Quite like them, good middle ground. They are for commo FE2 sports sus from memory (not normal type) These were in my KE70, AU springs were a little stiff to get decent rebound while still being captive if you get my drift..
  9. Tasty lookin. Time attack 21-22 may at eastern creek

    Hill Climb

The event Chappo was entered in was at the sdma track, as shown in that vid. :jamie:
  11. Is that a KE70 5 speed? Cos if it shifts well and Tom doesnt want it, I might take it off your hands :bash:
  12. 15 x 8 -4 offset fit well. Can I suggest you undertake some learnings of offset? That way you get the info straight from the horses mouth :bash:
  13. Maybe wack up a topic in general auto, I can't really help there sorry! Electricals arent my area
  14. Rough guess, Coil? And don't they have one of those ignitor things? Thats where I would start
  15. Yeah they reground my 4K cam to their 621 spec. Good customer service.
  16. Wait, I'm curious, why do you need a much larger throttle body? Your intake manifold will likely still restrict flow if you're going for big numbers, which I'm guessing you arent.
  17. Lolz. Unnessecary, its only a K engine, its not going to be making 200hp or more. For stuff you can do yourself, shim oil pump, install bigger cam, bolt shaved (and maybe ported) head on. I wouldn't be attempting porting yourself without extensive knowledge, start on a cracked head if you want to give it a go.
  18. Ye gods... Looks excellent for a free car hack hack, insane motor transplant, skids followed by large amounts of being awesome So who is coming to hillclimb on sunday?
  19. Sound excellent. I'm in I vote 30mins. Do we get a break between the sessions or all in one lump?
  20. How interesting. Good idea too about using the throttle plates etc. would save a fair bit of time faffing around.
  21. Most carbys do not have bushes/bearings on the throttle shaft right? But yes tolerances would need to be very precise. I've drawn up how I was thinking about the bushes as its easy to explain with a picture. Advantage of this is its easy to replace the bushes, they wear out before the housing or the shaft, and you can get the tolerances within spec easily. If you get them wrong just make a new bush (rather than a new housing). Disadvantage it ads complexity to design. Could be made out of brass or maybe even acrylic etc. So what exactly are you making them for? Are you going to make the itbs suit an exiting manifold? What are the design constraints, and what is the engine going to be used for? Do you need injector bosses welded in? This is a simple design with about as minimal machining work as possible (in my opinion). Not really liking the idea of welding components together. Obviously the design would be modified to suit whatever mounting solution is required. I like the slide throttle idea, they are awesome! But a bit of a nightmare to fabricate I imagine I drew a dodgy trumpet as well :laff: Voila enjoy
  22. Is it neccessary to have bearings? And why not use plain bearings? I think a thicker wall section would be easier to work with, and then just press fit plain bearings in. Especially if your welding it, then warpage will be a pain with thin wall. Also it'll be subject to alot of vibration, roller bearings are not always suitable as the race will become brinelled
  23. Yeah 20V quads can be had for about that over here too. Jason: I just did it like that because I could. Can do whatever shape is easiest. That took like 20 mins tops What program are you using?
  24. I got bored. Enjoy! Any criticsm welcome
