Has any one in vic done this and who did you use any help would be good cheers woz

Yes, 1JZ-GTE from a Soarer. And when this is done, I can only hope it will all be sweet. But, I'm gonna have to get around with the 5M-GE for another 4 years or so now.
-
Good point. I will most likely do that if circumstances go that way. If I'm doing all this, I may as well do a little bit of freshening up while I'm at it. :) And I hope so too Jimi. It will be all sorted out...... one day. Also, on another note, Today marks 1 year since it's been in my Ownership. And once again Adam, Thanks lots for your part in my purchase of this Cressida. :)
-
Yes Adam. It's only on Idle, and also when I hold the throttle at any RPM for a long period of time while the car isn't moving (ie: 2000rpm for 10 seconds in Park or Neutral). I've asked people that know old Toyota's at my workplace, and one said that when he used to work for the RACV, anytime a Cressida or Early Supra came in, it was either BHG or Air-Flow Meter. Others say "stop wasting your time, just throw a 1jz in there". The same Technician that suggested it was the Fuel Filter also said to do an "on-board" Injector Clean if it's not the Filter. The other Technician that it was something on the Electrical side of things Adjusted the Air-Flow Screws from the AFM and the Throttle-body to the Correct Settings while he was diagnosing (they were out by a little bit). I will definitely be changing the Fuel Filter next. If it's not that, then I'll do an On-Board Injector Clean, and if they are fine, then I'll do a Compression Test. But, gotta find time to do all this first. I have until I sell the car (which will be a long while) to fix it, but I'd like to have it sorted out by April/May, so then all I have to do with the car is just start it and go from point A to point B without hassles. :)
-
Both these things are what both Technicians said isn't wrong or has anything to do with the problem, but if fuelling isn't an issue, I'll proceed and do both these tasks. My dad's mechanic will be coming up soon to do both mum and dad's car. When he's doing those, I'll ask him if he could check the timing, and maybe do a compression test for me.

Wow. Very very clean Evan. :y:

So I've changed the Ignition Coil, the Ignitor, and the Distributor Cap, and the "misfire-on-idle" is still there! I had another well-experienced technician come out to have a look on NYE, and he suspects it's something to do with the fuelling. He specifically said the fuel filter could be very old, and it's not processing fuel into the engine and not returning fuel to the tank properly. So changing the filter is next on the agenda. If it's not that, and I can't find what's wrong with the flippin' 5M-GE, I'm just gonna take it out, throw it in the bin, and drop in a 1JZ-GTE from a Soarer. To re-cap: I have changed the Plugs and Leads, the Dizzy Cap, the Ignitor, and the Coil. It definitely is not a BHG as what I've been told from Both Technicians. If anyone else has caught the drift of what I'm saying, and could possibly know what is wrong, please share on here. I just want to get the 5M-GE running correctly. Josh

Wow. Everything you do to this is just pure awesomeness. Josh
-
How did you do this?
-
The white one is very very cool. And I like the 4K turbo setup you've got planned, but the trimatic part doesn't sound too good, but each to their own. :) All the best with your addiction. Josh
-
This is not hard to fix. Just drive the car up onto Wood Blocks, or something of the like, everytime you want to jack it up. Very very nice Crown by the way. Keep up the good work. Josh

Went to pinch-a-part campbellfield today. There's a Blue KE70 still in there, a Beige KE70 4K Auto with good panels and interior bits, and a Silver/Gold AE71 4A-C Manual, majority engine and interior bits there, and reasonably good panels. Also a Gold MX73 Cressida with good seats, tailights, 5M-GE, and most interior parts still there. Panels have dents and faded paint. Josh

Little update. Today was a productive, but disappointing day. We diagnosed the Diff problem, and found that the Centre was missing a few teeth in a few areas. So we removed the oil, the axles, and the centre, then changed over the Diff Centre from a Jap Diff we had spare, refitted the axles and put in some new diff oil, and it at least moves under it's own power now, but it's still stuffed. And to add to the problem, the tailshaft is also stuffed. So next on the to-do list is changing the Diff and Tailshaft to a Borgy Setup (again) that we have laying around and ready to go, which will happen during the Christmas Holidays we now have. We also changed the bonnet to a KE55 Square-Front Bonnet we grabbed from Jesse (the_ke55), because the original was pretty far gone as far as rust. But before fitting it, we got out some prepsol, wiped it down, and hit it with some Satin Black through a Supercheap Auto spray-can. Then bolted it on, but the hinge mount needs to be modified to make the bonnet sit flush with the front-guard chrome-trim lines. Joel.

Well just a little update. Not a lot has happened, except we pulled out the old Jellybeans from the shed, and polished them up. Having said that, we have been busy gettin' stuck in Joel's KE30 while we're on Christmas Holidays. Here's a couple of pics with Jellybeans. Enjoy. Cheers.

That is a very lumpy Ecotec-6 Glen. Can't wait to see track vids of this. :) -
Well summer is on its way and me and the old man are just hangin' for the summer holidays so I can get stuck into it. I've recently just received the paint for it. PPG Deltron 2-Pac Metallic Paint. Keeping the colour secret until its done and on the car, but all I can say is I got 8 Litres of it for a very good deal. :) So we'll get stuck into the bodywork very soon, but first the the axles in the Diff need to be fixed so I can drive it to and from the garage, not push it there. Joel.
