  1. Yep, temp sender was replaced. I checked the connecter with my volt meter to make sure the wires were good. Also checked the fan relay fuse to, making sure the brand new one wasnt shot. Someone mentioned using jumper wire to GROUND the fan switch wire, which lives on the thermostat housing on the lower rad hose. So I will try that next.
  2. Nice, I wouldnt mind taking a look. Let me know.
  3. 1990 Corolla GTS 4AGE FWD I have had this car for about 5 years now, my cousin had it before. As long as both of us could remember the electric cooling fan runs soon as the ignition is turned 'on' or when the car is running...then the fan runs constantly never shutting off. I have replaced the fan relay switch(fuse) and the temp switch (or ETC I think its called?). Hasnt fixed the problem. I have two different repair manuals both have really no info on the problem of running continually (Chilton and Haynes manuals). I have been pulling apart my wire harnesses trying to find any loose connections or what have you, no luck so far. If anyone has any suggestions it would be terrific. Also posted some questions about harmonic balancer w/ pics.
  4. 1990 Toyota Corolla GTS 4AGE FWD My harmonic balancer gave out and I searched high and low to find one, toyota has them for $450 new. Took a chance on one from a auto wrecker in New York (I live in canada near vancouver). I explained in detail that it was for a 4AGE engine to make sure I am actually getting what I am ordering. 3 weeks later it finally shows up and ofcourse its not the same as my old one. Same diameter but weighs about 2 pounds heavier. The half that drives my alternator belt is skinnier, one fewer grooves. Now I don't know if its just a matter of getting a belt to fit and this one will work fine. I don't want to take a chance on screwing up my crankshaft without alittle more information. From what people have told me the harmonic balancer for the 4AGE GTS is specific to that car, no other engines use the same one. Any advice would be great. Rusty one is the one I recived from autowreckers. Black is my old and busted...you can see all the missing metal around the edges. Pics as requested.
