  13. ****** i borrowed this off boostcruising. he borrowed it from somewhere else so its ok... ****** "Hi everyone. I've posted to the BB list, information on this problem, recently and have had no responding posts. The apathy of the SE Qld motorcycling community leaves me wondering if it's worth fighting for the rights of riders. Please prove me wrong Darlington Park will be closed by the Gold Coast City Council if the incumbent administration are returned in the council elections in 6 weeks time. The Olympic gold medalist runner, Ron Clarke is running in opposition to the sitting mayor. Ron supports the continuation of the development of Darlington Park into an international standard raceway. Darlington Park is a very important facility for the training of all levels of Queensland motorcycle riders in riding and safety techniques, and it's closure will seriously affect the level of training available to Queensland riders. We're not talking about a place going broke, were talking about a fully financed commercial operation, closed down by the actions of an unconscionable land speculator, and an apathetic council. Same thing happened to Amaroo, Hungry Creek, Surfers Paradise, Lakeside et al. On Sunday the 7th March I'm organising a Brisbane contingent of protesters to attend a support rally at the Darlington Park track. It will cost you nothing to attend, and there is a sausage sizzle to feed you, and repay you for your time in attending. We will assemble at BP Yatala Service Centre from 8:00am and leave at 8:40 or so to arrive at the track at 9:00am for the rally where Ron Clarke will address the assembled masses, and attending media representatives. The rally is scheduled to finish at 11:00 am There will then be a Border Ranges ride of 150Km or so for those interested, leaving straight after the end of the rally. This rally is open to anyone on a bike, whatever your affiliations, whatever list you subscribe to, whatever bike you ride. The media will be in attendance and the more support shown for the facility, the more chance we have of having it's continued existence. Bring your wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, kids, neighbors, brothers sisters, mums and dads. Tell everyone you know about the rally, and get them to commit. Post back to the list on which you read this, or contact me directly offlist, and commit to attending an event which may indirectly save your, your mate's or your child's life. Get off your bum and do something, or the facility will be lost forever. Please feel free to repost this on any list that may increase the attendance numbers. further info @ http://www.toprider.com.au/Darlington.htm Rod Campbell Ducati 996SPS ***** sounds like a good day, and its for a good cause... what do you guys reckon? *****
  14. well done man. hope it all goes well for you.

  16. camry means "little crown" hehe pagero translates to 'wanker' in south america.
  17. whats a bump stop? :D
  18. teddy. the list is... in no specific order. 1. the suspention is pretty shot. i put king lows on it about 2 years ago and never changed the shocks. still sits nice and flat, but bottems out over bumpy roads. 2. the catalitic converter has been rattling like a bastard for almost a year and i really hate how it sounds and couldnt be f'ed fixing it. 3. there is a fair bit of rust in the boot and a little on the floor. 4. i hit an open manhole on the gold coast highway doing 110 and almost ripped the right side rear wheel off... fortunatelly i didnt have the mags at that point because as you can imagine the stock rim was destroyed. 5. at the same time as the wheel being ripped off, the manhole put a huge dent on the underside of the car and it leakes water through it. 6. the drivers door seal is not sealing anymore. 7. the central locking is on the fritz. 8. the engine is old to the sum of 270000. 9. the drivers window doesnt wind up properly 10. its got a dent on the bottem near where the spare sits. i don't have a clue how it got there. 11. i flooded the engine with water a little bit ago, and its never been "quite right" after that. 12. um, what else... i crashed it the other day. alside from that, the engine is still going and not showing any signs of giving up yet. i fixed the rear wheel and indipendant (fortunatelly) suspension bits. cause otherwise i was drivin with about 20 degrees of toe out. i fixed the leak. and the alarm still works fine. i simply don't wnat to spend so much time and money on a car that frankly isnt worth it anymore. i got what i wanted out of it and i did kind of flog the shit out of it at the same time. ill still remember the good times. and its still the lowest gen 2 with 5 people in it youll ever see. :D btw. is a cresida 5x100 stud pattern?
  19. thanks guys. i might head over to nicks house so he can take some photos before i let her go. I'm pretty sad too... I'm probably going to get an old celica or corolla. don't know if it will cop racing stripes though. :D how hard is it to change the stud patern on a sprinter?
  20. yes its true... supercamry is no more. i ran into the back of a stupid old woman in a commodore and whilst the damage to my car was minor i have decided to end the life of supercamry, fix it and sell it. the accident was the last thing in a long line of problems over the last few months and its not worth keeping the old girl anymore. i took the stripes off yesterday and will have the front back together in about 2 weeks. I'm going to return it to as close to stock as possible and then trade it in on something else... i will be selling the wheels seperate so if anyone wants them pm me. i have no idea what to get yet but it will be RWD or 4WD and most likely toyota. so from now on no one will see that f*cking camry with the racing stripes anymore. rest in bits and pieces SuperCamry... sob sob sob
  21. my three bad things were... 1. flooding the engine (fixed quite easily) 2. brakes need replacing (not hard, just annoying) 3. ran into the back of a commodore (bad, bad, bad.) so there...
  22. turns out i needed a new thingy inside my distributeur and it started first time. hehe. $40 and about 20 minutes to fix. good thing lexus of kedron were open on sunday.
  23. hi all. earlier tonight while i was driving home i almost killed my engine. as you may or may not know, it decided to piss down rain for about an hour between 9 and 10 last night. the road i had picked for my journey had decided to flood and without warning i was driving in 2 foot of water. water came up over the bonnet and right over the car and while it looked really cool, my pod filter decided that water would be better than air for my engine and it kind of stopped running. i was like "oh shit" cause my car just died and i was stuck in the middle of the road while it was pouring rain. i tried to start her up again and although it tried to start, it wouldnt. it just kept not starting. so i was like "ill let it dry out a bit and then ill try again." still nothing. by this time the rain had ceased and i decided to stick my head under the bonnet. "ah good, the engine is still there." so using the complex method of checking and looking for bits that i remembered were under the bonnet i concluded that it was still not starting... once my dads car did the same thing when he ran it through some deep water and all we did was take the distributer cap off and dryed it out. started straight away. so i thought i would do the same thing. sure enough when i started undoing the bolts some water came out, but so did some oil. upon closer inspection i discovered that the coil is stuffed. so I'm like "ah good." :D close but no cigar. anyways, heed my warning. keep your eyes peeled for deep puddles and things like that cause water is bad for cars, particulalry under the bonnet. i wasnt speeding and i had my eyes open and yet i still did not notice all the water on the road untill it was to late. now i have to wait till tuesday to get the bitch to a mechanic cause they arent open on sunday and of course monday is a public holiday for some stupid australia day thingy... anyways, whish me and my bank account luck. - the Woody one.
  24. ill be in that as long as my car can be august and kylie can wear a bikini... :D
