My Ke30 Front Sspension Change Is Becoming A Hassle...
ca18rolla replied to evil00smurk's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
See a decent shop and they should be able to offer you different options either a original style strut with a good oil and re valved or a good complete insert -
we used l300 diff in my mates ke70, i used a rn10 hilux at standard length and a standard ba falcon rim on my ke35 coupe
-
Use a pintara speedo drive they are mechanical rather then elec all i used
-
Standard diff in mine with 205rwhp lasted a while 1000 odd km/s and even seen 8 or so launches at the drags. Though with 301rwhp it snapped a axle the first time i popped the clutch
-
Nah i used datto ones which broke so now use round v8 range rover ones. Just cut the standard mounting brackets of the cross memeber and bolt them to the motor with the above rubbers and lower the motor in to the engine bay and scribe the brackets where they need to be cut and re weld them to the cross memeber once you made them work. Its really easy

Gear box is a piece of piss. All you need to do is bolt it to the motor hold it in place with a jack and get some 30x30 box and make a new cross member from that and some flat plat and use the standard Ca18 rubber gearbox mount. Is very straight forward once you get it up under rhe car you ll see excatly what is need also need to cut the shifter location further back Above it refers how tight the ca18 is in the enigine bay. My '35 and my mates ke70 aren t that tight at all so don t be put off by that. I would be trying to get the motor to sit but as far as possable in the engine bay to help with handling etc. Also make sure the sump is level when fabricate you engine brackets. Cheers Rob

Wont be making the 26th unless i can afford some new tyres this week been out skidding on the weekend
-
hey bud keep us updated you ll love the rolla with a Ca18 mine has run a 12.41 with the det motor so plenty of poteniall
-
nice coulor keep us updated dude
-
in my Ke35 i just used the standard corolla one but with a three row core installed and a thermo switch never got hot once. In my mates ke70 ca18 we used a standard flushed corona radiator with the outlet moved
-
Honda make some pretty mean 4 cyl and there are alot of good parts ex Usa and Japan
-
My corolla has run a best of 12.41@115mph with na slippin clutch and some shitty old street tyres. Was running 14psi and making 301rwhp New clutch and box has been installed hoping to make it out on the 26th for test and tune and make that a flat 12! Car is ke35 hardtop with ca18det with gt25/40 turbo (gt2876r) (Car can be seen in the link below)

FEw questions mate 1. what did you end up doing for ur handbrake cables i have the same setup as you and mine just looks like corrolla cable needs the skyline end put onto it. 2. What bump stops did you use with the hilux diff
-
Is it possable to get willwoods engineered on your car in Nsw in Qld you can't because of lack of dust seals and no Adr approval, This is what two engineers told me when i was going to put some on our sprinter
-
thanks mate you can buy it, if u want lol
-
26th is looking good actually keep you all updated
-
Yeah sounds good pencil me in just have to make sure i m not going wakeboarding on the 26th, can't wait to rip the little beast again
-
Update: car has done aboutr 40km since april last year when i blew the box up. Been to lazy to install a new tank as the old one started leaking. New tank sourced off red dwarf on friday (life saver cheers Bud!!!) and just need two starter motor bolts and i ll be drivin again. Anyone keen for test and tune one night soon say 3 weeks???? Hoping flat 12 this time with the new puck clutch
-
rememeber how crap the lsd centres are in these diffs thou
-
my hilux diff owes me 2k but the lsd alone was 990. (Detroit tru-trac) Will never kill it!
-
I wouldn t go all that trouble either buy or get the pressure plate modified so it has more clamping pressure or just get a custom clutch built. They really aren t that expensive. Think my last fll face organic built by NPC cost me under 400 and my custom 5 puck with modified pressure plate was 420 making 300 at the wheels and no sign of sliping
-
thats cause we did ever thing ourselves mounting, wiring, cooler piping, exhaust and dump pipe. brake conversion etc. The motor only cost $500 complete with everything. Fuk what turbo you get? I brought a gt2876r and thats a pretty massive turbo and it was only $1800
-
Pintara or ca20 boxes are the same as ca18 just the internals arent as strong. BUt yes it will sit further back depending on where you mount the motar in the engine bay. mine is about 3-4 inches further back then a normal ke35 it is fine though i like where it ended up and i shortend the standard hand brake lever as well.
-
Yeah I m still around, still got the rolla. All thats changed is rebuilt the turbo as it was a few years old. Put a new box in as the pintara one snapped the selector fork at the drags (tryed to slam it into gear lol) new custom 5 puck and modified pressure plate. Just need to wire up a new starter relay and she is right to go havent really driven it since last july. Proabably done around 100km since then. Will be running in the next week or two and getting another tune with 15psi.
-
dude we have done one that cost about 2k start to finsh or mine owes around 35k it depends on what u expect from it and what corners you cut. 1. Mounts will cost nothing apart from the rubber engine mounts 2 factor in the following.. dump pipe and exhaust, engine mangement, bigger fuel lines, fuel pump/s, diff, brakes, FMIC and piping, Bigger radiator, wiring, hydrolic clutch conversion, custom tailshaft,
