  1. G`day mate, it could just be a lack of lubrication too. Check the steering box for oil and see if any of the tie rod ends have grease nipples. Cheers.
  2. G`day mate, I don`t know much about Te72`s but if it is a hydraulic clutch, try bleeding new fluid through the line. It might help. Cheers.
  3. G`day mate, you`re a hard one to convince aren`t you. The 3k needs at least rings. The same as you were told when I advertised it and the same as when you bought it from my son. The engine will never run correctly until the rings are replaced. It burns oil like there is no tomorrow. Get it,,,,got it,,,,good.
  4. I wouldn`t go any more than 50 mm using lowering blocks. Larger ones put a lot of strain on the u-bolts and can break them. Other than that its a pretty simple operation to put them in if you raise the rear end off the ground and do them while its up there. Don`t tighten the u-bolts until both blocks are installed or you may have trouble aligning the second spring. Good luck and cheers.
  5. And use resealable plastic bags for all the bits. Don`t forget to mark whats in there on a peice of paper and put that inside. Felt pen rubs off plastic when combined with oil. Cheers.
  6. G`day mate, go to your local bloke that sells steel. Ask them for two lengths of 50 x 50 x 6 RHS cut to the length you want. You will have to drill a centre bolt hole for the spring locaters. Then go to any suspension shop and buy a set of U-bolts to suit. (possibly a trailer shop)Problem solvered. Cheers.
  7. G`day all, here`s the website for Lake Moogerah. I`ve camped there a long time ago (last time it was full 10 years ago) and it is a really beautiful dam. I seem to remember catching a few fish there too. Prices are a bit steep tho. Cheers. http://www.moogerah.com/
  8. G`day mate, what Evan said. Its gotta have a vacuum leak somewhere. Get a can of wd40 or similar, start the engine and start squirting around the manifold to head area. Then the carby base etc. You will see the spray dissapear and also get smoke from the exhaust. Check your brake booster for audible leaks too and also check the pcv valve to see that the valve is still working. (take it out and blow/suck the tube. It should only work one way.) Good luck and cheers. P.S. if you did the timing recently check that you didn`t accidently damage the vaccuum advance tube.
  9. Or rebuild the 4K that you got with it..
  10. The paint colour for the engine etc is Super cheap International Orange. Just in case. Cheers.
  11. Looking good Steve, I`m glad to see the old girl getting the attention she deserves. Keep up the good work. Blame my son for the tight bumper bracket bolts. He`s a gorilla with a spanner in his hand. Cheers.
  12. G`day mate, I`ve got one here in Toowoomba. $25 plus postage will do.(probably $15 to $20 postage i`m guessing) Cheers.
  13. G`day Reed, these are what I found in an old Bosch 4K-C dizzy in the scrap heap. I`ve got some brand new ones somewhere but where is the problem. Cheers.
  14. In the early 1970`s I regularly towed a tinny with my KE10. Went everywhere with it. Never had a problem.
  15. G`day mate, what Evan said except, buy a workshop manual and install the clutch yourself. It a simple enough job if you can follow instructions and have a basic tool kit. It`s good to learn and never have to pay workshop prices again. Cheers.
  16. If you are anywhere near Toowoomba, I`ll give you a crossmember if you pick it up. Cheers.
  17. What about I sell you my enclosed canadian canoe????? Person in the front, person in the back and storage in the middle. I think 16 feet long with paddles seats and home made outrigger. Bout $600.00 should own it. And an extra $200 will get you the 50 lb thrust electric outboard too. Cheers.
  18. You were cruising along the Gatton bypass just before the Toowoomba end heading west.. I was in my white landcruiser 60 and you passed me with ease.. Your passenger had feet on the dash. (tut tut) Cheers.
  19. I`ve got a tinnie...and a 16 ft canadian canoe. When are you thinking of goig to Moogerah?
  20. Spotted a pretty good looking ae71 along the Warrego Highway yesterday. White with brown (bronze) front end. Nice stance, wide mags and possibly spacers. Didn`t make much of an exhaust note and didn`t have a huge tail pipe but seemed to accellerate well from 80 to 100 kph. No visible rust in the usual places. Cheers.
  21. Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy - Flooding and severe weather - November 2010 - January 2011 www.centrelink.gov.au G`day all, I don`t know if any of you are aware that centrelink can possibly help if you are losing your income because of the flooding. I hope the link works, otherwise just contact Centrelink by the normal means. Cheers, Trev.
  22. Jeez Trev, what can I say. If its any help I`ve got a couple of camping fridges up her that you can borrow until you get on your feet. For that matter I have a camper trailer and all of my camping gear too. It would easily accomodate you and your family if you can`t move back into your house for a while. Getting it all to you could prove a challenge but I`m sure we could work something out eventually. In the mean time, keep your chin up mate. You`ve got a great bunch of friends in Rollaclub and we won`t let you down. Cheers. Trev.
  23. Good luck Trev ad stay safe. See ya when its all over.
  24. Jeez I hope that you guys get thru it ok. There`s a shitload of water on its way down coz the dams just can`t hold any more. Just for info, Cresbrook Dam needed 36,000 mega litres to fill it to capacity and it got that in 24 hours. Good luck mate. Cheers. Trev.
  25. Mate, copy and paste the following into the search function on Farcebook. That`ll give some idea of the severity. We had 160mm of rain in 2 hours. Toowoomba & Darling Downs Flood Photos & Info Cheers.
