Same here. haha. New wheels: everyone wants one, "rather get a vl they have a TURBO, SO MUCH BETTER"
-
charged 5k will be cheapest option obviously, probably the most reliable and easiest to source parts. 5ks sound way cooler than a 4age, even with carbs. you'll get almost the same power as a 7k, obviously not as much as a 4age. 4age's are really expensive and you can't drive with it legally, even if its got a mod plate cos you're on your Ps. (problem I'm facing) 5k seems to be the smartest option, tell the jacks that the charger is an air con, they'll believe it.

thats correct :D no massive loom either. haha!
-
tell us how it goes :D

Update: Currently gathering the rest of the parts for the 4ag conversion. Getting a manual diff soonish. Sourced by Hendo: DHLA40 Dell'ortos with bigport manifold. Needs a service. Gonna need some socks for the trumpets, stupid dirt roads... Unless someone wants swaps for some air filters? I'm rather excited. If anyone has any info on setting these up it would be much appreciated. I have a vague idea, but I'd rather do it right the first time.

holy shit. I'm gonna go for a road trip when I get my engine in. haha. Sorry mate gonna hijack your thread real quick. Almost same thing. I've got you're average bigport. I'm getting twin 40 dell'ortos to bolt on aswell. Now I have my ke70, I'm quite certain you all know where I'm going with this. I'm expecting to get defected, then I'll try get it engineered or "replace" the motor witha 5k and the 40s My question is: Will this be able to get engineered? Will I get epa'd for this? Will I have to go back to stock? Cheers.

Great run guys, couldn't be more fun if we tried!

The weather forecast says it's going to be be raining, the same as today. It's going to be pretty shit if it is... Might be worth holding it off for another week to let the rain pass? http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/forecasts/map7day.shtml

Yea true lol. Theres still a few minor annoying things that i want to fix... Washer/Indicator stalk rattles. Bonnet has a small gap. All the little dents that aren't really worth fixing. Bumpers don't sit properly, not to mention how wrecked they are, Hopefully I can get some t18 bars lol. THE 3 SPEED AUTO........ Looking forward to Sunday!! EDIT: I need to align the front wheels too... Going down road today, slightly windy, mysteriously lurching to the left, new wheels glue it to the road also.

UPDATE: Steve, another friend Aaron and I drove an hour north west to the only reasonably distanced Vicroads that had a booking before the weekend. Rocked up at Kyneton, the town that makes you sad from just being there, especially on a rainy day. It's one of those town you just don't really feel comfortable buying lunch, or any food for that matter, from any of the fish 'n' chip shops around. So we ended up getting pizza, was pretty average. Managed to find the Vicroads office down a few back roads with our average pizza. Could not have gone more smoothly! The woman glanced at the car and copied the engine number, went inside and handed me the number plates. Too Easy! Registered! Wheels on straight away. First registered fill. Decent Photos at Steve's house. Not going to have enough time to change her to manual, might get the springs done though. She's Ready for the cruise!

UPDATE!!!: SHES ROAD WORTHY! I was goign to get decent seatbelts from another KE70 later down the track, when I had time... So I made some make-shi(f)t fittings just for the roadworthy. I ended up just buying a new one New windscreen: Not bad.
-
its because you can't see all the little dings.

Looks immaculate in the rain haha, this is at the Ford place ready for the first roady inspection. Update: Did a few things today... Good day for it. New bad/old tail lights in. (I'm going to be selling these when I get my 'new' good tail light. Had a look at the wheel bearings, they seemed to be fine to my Dad and I, but the road worthy says tighten them, so they're too tight now, I'll put them back after it's done. Took the door hinges off to replace the bushes, just got some hinges from a spare passenger door, had to saw off a bit to make it fit. Slightly harder to fit being the wrong side, didn't manage to fit them properly yet. Next to the other rollas and some shit blue thing. :y: The ke30 still runs, just doesn't have brakes at the moment, brothers car! Got some seatbelts out of a random car we have lying around, its stalk isn't long enough for the catch, so I'm going to take one out of an old Mazda 323 I hit a tree with. Also got the new windscreen put in. I rang the bloke at 8 this morning, he managed to source a brand new one, bring it to my car, and fit it by 3:30pm after lunch... for $175, not bad I reckon. Getting the Stalk tomorrow, and fitting the door properly, then she's ready to go back tomorrow arvo or Wednesday.

Looks nice mate, When did you get the donor car? If you do little things every night you'll find that it gets done a lot quicker. Just need the motivation. Do you have a check list of thing to do?
-
I'll get it done  Seat belts are the only thing that's really sort of worrying me, I'll have a look around. I'll ask the guy when he comes round to do it. I was told that ma61 seats bolt straight in, and I know a bloke who has some he's willing to sell me. Is this true? Otherwise I might look into that, which skyline?
-
Wow, as soon as you'd pull out here in Aus you'd get pulled over and destroyed by fines and defects haha. Looks awesome!
-
I just need some new old seatbelts, I singed them with a lighter to get rid of the frayed threads and they noticed only the drivers belt, should be easy enough to find another belt. Pretty annoying how Aus always ends up keeping the bad stuff haha, same situation with my 1800 Ute I'm getting another shipped from singapore for just the postage, apparently they have a warrantee or something, so I'll be right  Thanks though.

Update: Got back from the Roady yesterday... Picked up on things I didn't think he would. Need to fix: TAILLIGHT... I ordered some standard lights from the local Autopro :sob: Windscreen, apparently it's pitted, but I reckon it's fine... Drivers door hinge bushes. Wheel bearing need to be adjusted, rofl. Drivers seat need to be replaced! It wasn't bolted down properly. Drivers seat belt. Missed: Manifold leak Rust in rear quarter Front Indicators weren't plugged in, I realised on the drive back home... No Jack or spare tyre in the car. Picking up some ma61 seats for it on friday night, I have to work sat and sunday nights too, but I'm not doing anything else as far as I know. So yea come round :D Thanks mate, I should be ok for it. If you have a seat belt lying around I'll grab that, haha.
-
Thanks guys! Desperately need the bottom of the vinyl back seat... Ready for the roadworthy today at 2pm! Things I think they'll pick on me for: Exhaust manifold leak (It goes away when the engine is warm so hoping they won't notice...) Tail light. Windscreen wipers. Small rust patch I forgot to fix in the back drivers side quarter.

I'm looking forward to seeing one up close best way to start knowing people :y:
