  1. A couple of other cars that got my attention
  2. Just a little update , got the supercharger issues sorted and all was great for about a month, then a small electrical gremlin surfaced. A random cutting out when turning hard right proved difficult to find until it burnt out a 100 amp fuse wire, leaving my wife stuck on the side of the road. So Peechs sat for almost three weeks while I checked for a short. Hopefully I have it sorted. It's been running for the last 3 days now without a drama just in time to make it to a local car show today, Chrome Bumper Sunday for all makes and models. Awesome day and the first time Peechs has been entered in a show, and got rewarded with this I didn't even wash the car cos I never thought it would get a trophy. My wife was super happy and my good mate got best Japanese for his bright orange Datsun 1600. What a great weekend.

    Billycart

So much fun to be had for bugger all money. I've built a couple of billy carts for local events in the past two years, I would recommend 20" bmx rims for a better top speed over the 12's. These were my efforts Hope you and your boys have a blast
  4. That's one of the best looking corollas I've seen in a long time, We'll done mate. Quite an achievement getting it that low too, looks killer.
  5. That rust is nasty, good luck with the repairs man. The story of buying the car is awesome, reminds me of when I bought my first KE10 some 20 years ago, but I didn't drive as far. They're such great cars and so much fun to play with, looking forward to hearing more About your progress
  6. Good to hear ya got it sorted.
  7. Also found this photo I took in about 2004 at WSID . Never saw I again, anyone know of it or where it ended up, It was a tough looking thing
  8. Just flipping through the latest street machine Raced in 1972 by Dennis Syrmis and first A/Gas car in Australia into the 10s.
  9. Had a billy cart race on the weekend so a mate and I knocked this up in 2 days
  10. Ok so a couple months ago, on the way home from the classic japan show at como park I had a little traffic light race with a dirty ol dodge v8 ute, that had been weaving in and out of traffic to catch up with us. With a good launch and smashing through gears we left the dodge for dead only to suddenly loose power just as I was looking for 4th gear. So got it home to assess the problem found I destroyed the blower drive shaft, Stripped the internal spline out of the shaft. This was originally made as a two piece and welded together and probably not ideal. Oh we'll, you get that. So I look for someone to get a new shaft made and my first quote was out of control, I'm told "I need a specific material that's rare and expensive, and then we have to make a 3d image of the spline and a tool to make the new internal spline" blah blah blah blah and that's going to set you back about $4800. My reaction, as you could imagine, " you've gotta be fu@&!n shittin me" , thanks anyway So I find a local tool maker that says leave it with me for a bit, and rings me today with good news. After two weeks he was able to help me out Bloody awesome, nice work and a nice bloke all for $700 , Now I just have to get it all back together.
  11. Did it run before the turbo was fitted? If it's got fuel and spark then I'd be looking at timing! Keep us updated
  12. The large L bracket bolts to the chassis rail, I used a custom control arm mount but the kit has a bracket That bolts to the arm in a similar position. Hope this helps. Removing the front leaf is a good idea if you use a stiffer coil springs on the struts, otherwise you will bottom out the original front shocks and the ride will be terrible
  13. Top effort mate, I know a lot of people that would have given up by now.! Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing the finished product.
  14. I love these old school set ups, and done right can work very well. The standard fuel pump will be fine and a reg is only needed if using an SU which is advisable. The turbo itself needs to have a carbon seal fitted so oil isn't sucked into the intake when you come off the throttle, and keeping the intake path from turbo to inlet manifold short helps drivability. The MSD for timing retard on boost is a very good idea also. I'm doing a similar set up on a 63 hillman superminx, should be fun. Good luck with it all and posting any of your findings would be good, There is also a really good thread from some Volkswagen guys on this too, try the samba forum.
  15. I was rapt to make it to classic japan on the weekend, haven't been out for a couple of months due to some front suspension damage from very below parr road works, some new camber plates modified to work and she drives great. I didn't take any photos from the show but the good weather meant a trip up mount dandenong was in order After some spirited driving it seems I may have broken the supercharger drive shaft, so some more time off the road, damn. Hopefully an easy fix. Anyway, happy summer motoring, cruise on
  16. Great show, awesome display of cars. I agree with Adam on the KE26, unreal, also liked the chrysler lancer gt coupe, can't say I've seen one before. And by the way was there a group buy on front chin spoilers?
  17. Check out aqua blasting, it's not a polished, but it gives a bright finish on aluminium and seals the surface so it's easy to look after and keep clean. Just a thought
  18. Nice work Fellas Reckon those bumpers look alright, kinda works with overall look and flared guards. Coming along pretty well . Keep up the good work
  19. What a great turn out for pretty crappy weather! Awesome display of toyotas, very cool and really good to meet a few people from on here, maybe a KE10 / 11 cruise in the future? And a big thanks for all the kind comments and remarks about PEECHS Cheers Justin
  20. No converting needed here, I've had 3 5ks and all have been left hydro. My current one still making power @ 6500 rpm
  21. Nice work guys, That's pretty good power for a n/a setup. Makes for a very quick little car. Hope the weather does hold out for winterfest really looking forward to checking this beast out
  22. I will have a set of hurricanes for sale at the all toyota winterfest Brand new looking for $200
  23. I'm pretty sure I will make it down with PEECHS. Not a lot of boot space to bring many items to sell/trade, see how we go.
  24. Well, it turns out that KE10 lower control arms aren't very strong, maybe because the leaf spring is removed, but I would advise against hitting gutters So just a warning kiddies, don't be silly on the wet roads. Catch yas later
