  1. failing that knight auto elecs They have a shop in mulgrave but I know they also run 3 or 4 mobile vans as well http://www.yellowpages.com.au/bi/knight-au...ic-3373347.html I used them for a recent alternator high capacity rebuild and they were great to deal with P
  2. didn't know that thanks P
  3. Hi Which color temperature puts out the highest quantity/most and whitest light out of 4300K and 5000K bulbs/light?? cars a daily driver and I don't want the blue lights Want to convert the seperate inner high beam light of the standard headlights into a HID light and want to know which color beam globe to get. Is there much extra light output in getting 55W HID lamps over 35 W ones in either the 4300K or 5000K range? Has anyone tried the Phillips +80% halogen globes in their head lights yet? I'm currently running the +30% globes but they are a few years old and could do with a freshen up and was wondering about the +80% that have come out. if any member on here can supply or has links to good quality kits ( or the phillips +% halogens) please PM me and we can discuss thanks later P reason I'm doing this is that the whole front of my car is plastic and there is nowhere to mount lightforce 240's
  4. If you put T18 lower control arms on it brings things back to almost what it was factory later p
  5. Still looking at power upgrades for the 4AFE-- this is becasue of the 4WD gearbox cut out in the block issue with the AE95R- my car I have been trying to find pictures of the 4AGZE block to see if it has the cut out in it-- no joy as yet the wreckers I went to today didn't have a ZE engine there for me to compare. If a 4AGZE has the cut out it might just be easier to get a front cut and do the whole changeover thing, ECU, etc-- any help on the ZE block having the cut out would be nice failing that I was thinking how hard would it be to graft a ZE topend to my 4AFE so in reading up here there seems to be 2 types of ZE- TPS and MAP which type is more simple - the grunt will be great from either type compared to normal 4AFE performance so I'm looking for the simplest to fit I have a series 1 4AFE from a 1988 AE95R The increase in torque will be most helpfull in getting the 4wd to move better so any help will be great -- or would a 7AFE conversion be easier? thanks heaps in advance P
  6. when Iwas doing my 55 was told to use RA 60 celica front struts complete and T-18 lower control arms to get things back into line never got round to doing it but the guy who told/showed me had his done like that for his 2TG engine add later P
  7. if you had a car with a 4AFE in it and a half cut with a 7afe in it is the 7 a drop in replacement for a 4 version?? I'm looking for gerneral terms like engine mounts, radiators etc I realise there will have to be some parts swap over and fine fit but in general terms is a 7AFE and a 4AFE foorprint he same or is it only the series 2 4AFE and the 7AFE that have the same/similar footprint? thanks later p
  8. have a 2tgeu stitting in the back shed- not many $$- has inlet complete and ex to flange gasket and clutch on it if in time your are interested make a nice sleeper P
  9. when I was looking at this in the early 90's for my ke55 I found that the trumpets for the same era nissan micra had the injectors in them and were an easy adaptor fit to a multi carby inlet manifold forget if it was a DCOE or the other one or the one for del'ortos or waht maybe you can re-drill the manifold to suit the micra trumpets or the trumpets are a close fit nad just need the holes hog'd out a bit it's a heap of years ago and the brain is fuzzy if you want it for a 2TG motor I have a complete TRG 2TGEU sitting in the shed if thats of any help most of the rngine wiring loom is still there- espcially the injector loom got a clutch connected to it an all I think the trumpets are a bolt on fit to the 7K manifold- but thats really straining the memory surge tank equiped fuel tank was coming out of a celica or something later P
  10. sorry my bad- standard 4 age wont fit need to use an AFE motor for the engine block cut out so the 4WD drive system as the car is an AE95R 115 KW will be great compared to the SFA I have from a 350Klm tired 4AFE later P
  11. would but no $$ for the conversion of that nature P
  12. older of new model motor if you know?? mines a 1988 model motor P
  13. Can anyone tell me if the turbo setup from a AU delivered Sportivo 7AFE will fit a 4AFE engine without to many hassles?? thanks heasp later P
  14. to fit the 4wd diff lock control mechanism- there is a section of the lock cut out in the 4AFE motors that is not done in the 4ag series motors untill you get upto the 20V models AFIK 20V models were fitted to 4wd models in Japan but never imported here hence the 20V models also have the block cut out without the block cut out the 4wd part of the gearbox / gearbox lock up will not be able to be fitted to the engine I don't know if the &AFE motors have this cut out or not and have NFI if the &AFE's have the block cut or not I haven't been able to find that out anywhere Does anyone here know if the &afe has the required block cutout for fitment of the 4wd box/assembly?? thanks later P
  15. Can a toyota factory ECU for a 4AFE be re--mapped? if yes what approx cost will it be and where could I get it done thanks later P
  16. Hi Have a 1988 AE95R with 350K on the clock don't have the coin for a 20V conversion and from reading here cannot do a drop in of an AG becasue of the block cutout issue. I can pick up a complete 4AFE and ecu etc for not much coin at all- sub $100 or close to it what can be done to the 4afe to give me a bit more torque mainly and HP if it happens the car is used for a daily driver/ fun bush bus- but with some camping gear and kids in the back it just doesn't go anywhwere fast I know sticking with the AFE engine it still wont be anywhere fast-- maybe just not SO embarrissingly slowly. so I throw my horribly inadequate knowlede on your mercy in the hope that you guys can give me some simple ideas I have used the search funtion and came up with 18 pages of stuff- all of the posts seemed to recommend an AG or AZE or 20V upgrade- but my need 4 an engine cutout to fit the $wd box exclides those so guys what can you offer me-- what have you got at home that you want to off load to me. thanks later
  17. I have lifted my ae95r I ordered all this through a mate at bursons auto parts I got kind springs to make me a set of standard OEM replacement springs but reset them 35mm higher. Used a set of monroe GT gas inserts- gt gas inserts have a +- 25mm working range from standard height- it covers both small increases and decreases in ride height. forget what the rears are- think they are KYB +25mm- but not sure - can look if anyone really wants to know- pm me if so. By having the springs done at 35mm and having the shocks doing 25mm the 10mm diff was taken up by static sag ( and another 5mm) giving me a +20mm static height increase to my suspension a standard type wheel alignment was done but nothing was out of line - no changes to geometary was found or required to have propper wheel alignment. Speaking to kings R7D department I founf out that kings OEM springs are about 25% harder than standard anyway- so I pickeup some stiffer springs and some ride height for almost no extra $$ To do this I just had to agree for kings to fit my srpingss in with a normal spring run of this type- rather than pay for a rush job- like most customs are considered. It has been an amazing difference on the many country roads I travel on a by-weekly basis. The extra stiffnes hasn't hashened up the road drive feel at all- the springs were done at 290K on the odometer so there might have been some sag in the originals by then- especially sine I brought it off a mechanics shop where it was used as the parts truck. After reading here I'm keen to do a power upgrade on the 4AFE as it's getting tired at 350K now I'm not all that mechanical and would love to hear the easiers bolt in way I can give it a fresh engine preferabley all bolt up- engine, ecu, the lot. thanks later P
