You can use early or late model ke20 bonnets with either guards, it doesn't matter. The only difference is the early ke20 bonnet is straight along the front edge with a raised section of about 20cm across running through the centre. The later ke20 bonnet has a slight v shaped edge along the front and about a 1cm across raised section that runs throught the centre. But you would really want to use the correct bonnet for that model as as they also used different grilles between early and late models, and may look a little odd. :yes:

Make sure your timing is correct first, then I'd be checking if it's getting enough fuel to the carby and also some of them have a fuel cut off solenoid which plugs into a connector just next to the carby on the inner guard. If this wire is not connected it wont idle. :happy:

I put a standard ke30 booster with dual circuit brake master cylinder in mine, and looks factory. I believe the ke20's never came out with boosted brakes here in Australia, never seen any lets put it that way. :wink:

Have you adjusted the mixture screw? Maybe it's running to lean and needs to be wound out half a turn or so that it gets a bit more juice when idling.

I went for a cruise today with my bro and we spotted a 1978 update model ke30 sedan for sale just out of Graveley Beach heading towards Deviot. It's white with a 3k auto, all complete but has some severe spots of rust. There was a VW beetle and a boat lined up for sale aswell. $350 o.n.o

Those seats are out of a Ke20 corolla, they should have a lever on the sides to work the back part.

Ke30 door mirrors are a little longer in the stalk compared to the ke55 one's. The ke55 shorter stalk ones were also used on datsun 200b's. :yes: But do you need interior or exterior?????

Hi, there should be 3 red lines on that screw. Set it so that the middle one is flush with the dizzy body.

I say keep it stock standard. There isn't enough stock originals as there is, and it would be worth more in standard condition. :y:

Yeah this is a common problem on KE55 rolla's. It's the resistor on the back of the dash which controls both the fuel and temp gauges. I have had this happen a couple of times on different KE55's. :)

Hi all. A guy came into work today asking for camber adjustable top mounts for his ke55, strut brace and swaybars. When I asked what he was doing with it he replied and said that it's going to be a targa car. It's got a 2tg engine and a T series box with TRD gear sets and a sprinter diff with a LSD center and 4 wheel discs apparently. It will be good to see it when it's done. :D :P
