yeah i am geting it put on the dyno in a couple of weeks. And also about filters, what i am going to do is remove the trumpets and put two air cleaners on instead 1 3/4" k&n's.

Hi thanks for the info about the needle and seat. The guy that i bought these carbies from had them reconditioned so i don't know exactly what was done to them. Also have heard that the webers need a fuel pressure of about 2.5 to 3 lbs which is critical, looked in the corolla workshop manual and the standard fuel pump puts out 2.8 to 4.0 psi maybe i need a fuel pressure regulator, not sure?

Hi all, thanks for your ideas. Looking into getting a couple of 1 3/4" k&n air cleaners to suit the webers, might just be enough room but it will be touch and go. Also having problems with my front carby leaking petrol out of the trumpets, I have checked float levels and they seem ok and do they run a gasket between the trumpet and carby or is that only on air cleaner setups?

Hi, thanks for the comments. Had to adjust float levels as one of the carbies was pouring fuel out of the trumpets. Went to the local dyno guy to book my car in to get a good tune, have to wait till the 24th april. Still wondering what to do about air filter setup due to lack of room, help from others who have done this conversion would be great. |blink| :nervous:

Thanks for your reply, i am aware that the springs are there to stop the filter being sucked in and about the linkages they are a redline kit made specifically for the corolla K-series motor complete with diagrams of how to setup linkages and even what jets to run etc. I am using standard ke20 engine mounts and redline manifold, not sure of distance between carbs and strut tower, still yet to measure. Have started car and they run fairly well, just need to check mixtures and get a good tune. Also what do people do about their pcv valve and line. Do you just plumb it into a oil catch can? :y: All comments appreciated. :hmm: :)

Hi all just finished converting my 5k motor from twin down draught webers to twin 40dcoe webers on my ke20. Just want to know what most people do for air filter setup, due to lack of room. I have bought a pair of filter socks in the smallest size but they seem to be to long, i am thinking about cuttting them in half to fit without being squashed up. also what do people do to support the webers and manifold because of the weight of the carbies. All comments and pics would help. :hmm: Here are a couple of pics of my weber setup.

I have decided to get rid of the twin downdraught weber setup due to running to rich and causing the engine to surge at low speed and not being able to get the idle below 1200rpm. I have just purchased myself a redline twin sidedraught weber manifold in near new condition from a guy I know and got a pair of 40mm sidedraught webers from my brother which have just been fully rebuilt. Just ordered myself a set of softmounts and linkage kit to suit. Hope to start work on the conversion over the easter period. :hmm: Here are some pics.

Hi all I 'll be there scavenging around :y: :)

Yeah I went and had a look at it before it was polished up. Lets just say it hadn't been intrduced to mr cut and polish. They cleaned her up very well, must of added a couple of hundred dollars to the price. Would look excellent lowered and with dark tinted windows. :) :(

Yes these are fairly rare in today's era. Your wagon model is a ke26. If you are after front panels, ie guards, bonnet, grille etc then the ke20 which is a 2 door sedan use the same. :P But doors and tailgate would require a lot of searching as they rarer, so try not to bash these around when rallying. :jamie: cheers.

Hi mate just wondering if your from tassie, as I notice your rolla has tasmanian number plates on it??? I own a ke20 2 door ( the one in my avatar) :P Also is this the one I have seen in beaconsfield area? She must go alright with a T motor in it. :y: These wagons are quite rare aswell. Go the rolla. :jamie:

hi all, just bought myself a 5k dizzy from the wreckers and want to know where both of these lines from the vacuum advance mechanism are meant to go. Because the 3k one that I'm using at the moment in my 5k motor only has one line that goes to the bottom of the carby. I was wondering if i need to use both or if one was some sort of emission line. :P

got the harmonic balancer and water pump pulley for my 5k motor. It's 30mm bigger than the 3k one that I have on there now. Just getting myself a 5k water pump because I currently have a 3k one at the moment and the pulley offset and shaft sizes are different, going to cost $55 from burson autoparts trade price. :'(
-
Got the starter motor in today much smaller and lighter than the old one. It works just fine, spins the engine over much faster. Just have to rub the key and away she goes, no more clicking or winding over. :'(
-
looks like i will have to just try it and find out if it is more powerfull than the conventional 0.8kw one that i have on there now.

Hi, can anyone tell me if there is a difference between a 4k and 5k crankshaft pulley, size or weight :y:
-
did 5k motors come out with reduction starters or just planetary. Also what starter did the ke70 have. :y:
-
Damn :y: I thought it was a gear reduction starter as it came of a 5k motor, and it looks different to the one that I have on there at the moment. So are these starters any better then an original starter say found on a 4k motor???? :S
-
Hi, bought myself a 5k gear reduction starter today and was wondering what goes in this hole or what it is for.
-
some pics of the wagon with the 7k would be grrrrrrrrreat |blink|

Yeah The guy in the ke26 rolla pulled up beside me at the lights. Had a quick traffic light chat, found out he's from Devonport ;) I have seen this before once when I was up there. |blink|

Hi everyone just want to know what HI CAM means when it comes to the ke70 corolla. Must have something to do with the camshaft in the motor, surely :jamie: Please can anyone cure my curiosity? :hmm: Thanks.
