  1. Hi all, I'm in the process of converting my ke55 from auto to manual and want to know if the rear cross-member is the same between both manuals and autos and if not will a manual one bolt in place of the auto. :)
  2. Yeah I saw this on ebay aswell. What's the plans for her, burnout car or drag car, etc :no2:
  3. G'day all, this used to be my old panelvan, I bought it with a 5k 5-speed in it from Newstead Auto Wreckers a few years ago. :bash: The motor and box now reside in my 1973 bamboo ke20 which I had at the photoshoot yesterday. Once I took the motor and box out of her I sold it as a rolling body for something like $100 to a guy named quinten that lives near Deloraine who had a heap of rolla's. It was a straight car, but the same can't be said now unfortunately. Yesterday was the first time I saw it in the flesh since I sold it. :y: :y: :( These faces say it all, Mark. :y:
  4. Seeyou at around 4:30- 5:00pm at Brady's lookout. Could bring both my Ke20's but I'll just bring the better one that goes a bit quicker. :D Cheers, Mark. :y:
  5. Cool, so if I get there about 4:30pm then that should be ok???? Cheers, Mark. If I'm not there when the rest of you are I won't be to far away, just listen for the sound of a sweet 5k with twin 40mm sidedraught webers. :y: :D
  6. Hi dan, if your coming from g'town then you go over the battie drive through exeter along the highway a couple of k's and it's on the left hand side heading towards launnie on a hill right next to the road, can't miss it. :)
  7. I would prefer to have the shoot somewhere near town rather than drive heaps of k's. :)
  8. Hello everyone, I have a early model ke20 that I am wrecking, and have got all the parts I need off it, therefore in the next fornight or so it's going to the crusher. :jamie: If your after any parts at bargain prices then get in quick. Cheers, Mark. :D :D
  9. Hi everyone, I would just like to know what is the difference between the early ke20 Borgwarner diff and the late ke20 Jap diff, :D apart from that the Borgwarner has a removable centre. The reason I ask is that I have an early ke20 that I'm wrecking with a Borgwarner diff in it and want to know if it's worth keeping it before I take the car to the crusher. What ratio does it have and are they a stronger diff then the jap ones????? Cheers, Mark. :jamie: :D
  10. Hi, does the timing go to 20 deg BTDC when idling with the vacuum connected or only when you rev it. Where abouts have you got the line going to. To check to see if the dizzy is in the right spot, take off the dizzy cap and line up the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley with TDC. The rotor should be facing either No 1 or 4 ignition lead turn the motor around until the timing mark lines up with TDC and the rotor is facing No 1 lead on the cap when the cap is installed. Remove dizzy cap and rotor and the points should be open and the rubbing block on the points should be touching the high part of the dizzy cam. :laff: Also the vacuum advance mechanism should usually face straight front to rear in line with the engine. If the rotor doesn't line up, then leave the timing marks lined up on TDC on No 1 and remove the dizzy and turn the rotor and place the dizzy back in until the rotor faces number 1 lead and the points are open and the rubbing block is on the high came off the lobe. Also with the mixture, turn the screw in until it just seats and the turn it out about 2 1/2 turns. mixture is best checked when the vehicle is up to temperature.
  11. Hi, could be that the vacuum advance diaphram has worn out. Or that the dizzzy is a tooth out, that is if you pulled it out and it didn't go back in the right spot. :laff:
  12. Hi dan, that is a ke26 in that pic. :laff:
  13. Thanks mate it's all good now. :( :sob: :P
  14. Hi all, my problem at the moment is that my message box says that I have -2 new messages even though my message inbox is empty. :P Does anybody know how to fix this?? :(
  15. Isn't this llyods old car????
  16. What did you polish the rocker cover and timing cover etc with, Autosol? :hmm:
  17. They would be 'Rambler classics' made by AMC, american motors coporation. My brother has a dark green one and dad has a white one.
  18. Yeah I have a couple of of bamboo ke20's, and yeah my brother owns a couple of 120y coupe's. :y: :hmm:
  19. Were abouts in Summerhill are you, as I live there too. :hmm:
  20. I can find heaps of pedders stickers at work "no bull" :hmm:
  21. Hi everyone, just thought I'd let you that I am wrecking a ke55 xx coupe. A bit has been sold off it, but there is still plenty left on the old girl. If you require anything just send me a pm. Cheers. :y: :y:
  22. Hi Palmy, you don't need that strange looking plate. Just use the rectangle shaped adapter plate with a gasket above and below it. :) cheers.
  23. I don't think they are designed to run constantly. Anyway I have a thermo fan on my weekend ke20 with the 5k motor and I have hooked the fan up to a toogle switch, and mainly turn it on when driving slowly, especially through town and stopping at traffic lights etc. :) When I'm on the open road I hardly ever use it.
  24. Hi Ben, just take into account that if you decide to paint it another colour, you'll have to paint the engine bay and along the inside of the doors etc. so that it matches. I reckon that white or blue would suit it down to a tee. Have you decided to do it in 2pack or acrylic paint????? anyway can't wait to see it, keep on rolling along Cheers, Mark. :) :no2:
  25. Looks very tidy. :no2: It's in a bit different condition to the  one that I'm wrecking Any interior pics???
