Quoted For Truth and Hilarity :D

I think you will find if you take apart rims you need to seal them properly, then wait at least 48 hours or so before refitting tyres. A tyre shop would be able to give you some advice on this. I would not recommend using tubes.

If you have a look at the pic posted you can sort of see what is required. You would need AE86 front guards, bonnet, grill, lights and indicators and possibly bumper. You would cut the AE86 guards halfway through the wheel arch and weld them to the rear half of your KE70 guards. There would have to be some radiator support mods too to support the different lights and indicators. Have you noticed in that pic that the front of the car has a full bumper and the rear has a half bumper or normal KE70 one?? To me this makes the car look strange on the side angle. You would need to adapt a full bodykit to the car or at the least AE86 bumper on the rear also to balance it. It is a good idea, would cost more than you think and most people will probably not like it. The pop-up front off a Trueno would not look any good as it would not follow the normal lines of a KE70.

Ok so my comment about OrangeLJ was immature, so what part of my brain got the better of me. I guess that never happens to you though coz your so STRAIGHT EDGE. I am not going to edit it, I will leave it there as a reminder. Lexxi, you are right it is a public forum, you put your opinion out there, so don't complain when the 'public' don't agree with you. And it isn't necessarily a forum for everyone, from what I can gather it is run by a small group of people who only want to allow those who will follow simple rules and behave. So not everyone is allowed to post on here, because some can't show enough respect for the rules. Perhaps keep your straight edge stuff to yourself next time, will save a whole lot of bandwidth :bash:

If there weren't any slappa's the car scene would die, slappa's love it. OrangeLJ - we've heard just about enough out of you, zomg I'm going to go onto a Corolla site and brag about my fewly sick LJ Torana and spread my opinions far and wide. FFS go back to hobo.com or whatever LJ Torana sites are called.

The "omg Guess What Happened Today" Thread

My wife finally got her holidays approved so we can go to the Gold Coast, punch in Tiger Airways site, and due to the delay from her stupid Manager the flights have now doubled in cost. Thanks heaps Manager :bash: -
Being in High School means you are around 17 to 18 I'm guessing. You are hardly of an age to be preaching about life experience. Grow up a little, get some and then come back and tell us about it. I'm guessing you've only ever lived in the same area too most of your life..... Harden up princess :bash:

+ eleventy billion I can't believe you typed something that long on it, but very very well said. Lexxi - there is a big world out there, don't get caught up in your small world and cast your views out to the rest of it.

Running a red light on a bicycle now attracts a $231 fine in Adelaide. Shouldn't be too long before this cuts down the occurrence of this type of thing. On the bike argument, I'm all for people getting fit, but ffs pick your times better. Riding three a breast on Upper Sturt Road during peak hour when people are trying to get to work is just stupid. Same goes for caravans, we get it you are retired, so stay in bed and wait till everyone else has gotten to work before you clog up the road to go and get your brakes or whatever checked before your next "grey nomad" adventure....aghhhhhhh

Hey there, I think I met you at a Rolla Club Cruise in SA once. My AE71 died shortly after this cruise, and I am currently doing a 20 valve conversion myself. Seriously, do some research and do as much of it yourself as you can. I am doing the mechanical side myself, installation, etc and then sending it someone else for the wiring of ECU etc. I think if you do it yourself with shopping around, getting parts off forums etc you can do it for under 3 grand. I have spent heaps of time on here researching, there is quite a bit to the conversion but it is easy once you know most of it. On the plus side you already have a manual AE71, it is just a case of buying the motor, the necessary cooling parts and then some sort of computer setup if you are not going to run the standard ECU. PM me if you have any questions. Luke

I know it seems like I am picking on you since I can't understand why you are going to a 4K, etc however I am still going to give my opinion. There was a KE70 in Adelaide with drift teks on it and it looked like crap. And as the above person stated, anything more than a 15" on a KE is too much. I am not even sure that they are made in 15". My opinion if you are looking for a cheaper wheel option that is BRAND NEW, then you cannot go past Performance Superlights or Challengers. They are period correct, came out in the 80's, and they can make them in offsets that will fill your guards. If you do some shopping around and wheeling and dealing with Performance Wheels retailers you can get a full set for around the 800 mark and then add tyres. Superlights also come in good weights too for extra dollars so they are not as heavy as everyone seems to make them out to be. No I am not a Performance Retailer

I don't mean to be Captain Obvious however you can not dish out spelling lessons. Please look at the spelling of what I have quoted of yours. It is not spelt correctly :P
-
I spotted one in Tailem Bend on Saturday, full 80's ADM with sunvisor and jelly beans on it. Pity it was rusted to hell otherwise it would have been sweet :P
-
Spotted Nicks yellow leaf machine parked out the front of my wife's olds on the weekend. When you selling that?? I figure it won't be too long..... :P

I have to wonder why you would downgrade to a 4K from a 4A. T50s are not that hard to come by, and you would have saved yourself an epic amount of time rather than doing what you are doing currently Sorry but this emoticon has to be used here  :lolcry: :lolcry: :n: :(

Funny, but actually that is the quality of some of the spelling some members have been putting out lately. y dnt we all jst post lyk dis it wold save d leters and spce on da forom :)

The amount of poor spelling in posts on here drives me up the wall. And most (if not all) of it goes unmoderated. I know it would be a full time job to correct all of them but the amount of SMS type speak in some parts of this forum is terrible :)

I saw this on Onkaparinga Valley Road on the same day, probably heading to the show. I drove behind it for ages, awesome condition

I might tag along to the cruise in one of my dailys  -
Have you also worked out that 18" rims don't look good either, you could be making some progress
-
Hey Nick I spotted you the other day in your wags, nice.

KE70's are only trash coz kids keep trashing them. I'm sick of it too. Most of them hang out on AE86DC anyway so we should be ok here. Mine is actually quite clean, and will be repping a clean look with 20V and siggy turbo rims and whitewalls. My AE71 will raise the middle finger to all other KE70/AE71 in Adelaide as it cruises past  Sorry to hijack, just your post got me all riled up. :P

Me - finish my 20v conversion in my AE71, slowly getting there just collecting parts at the moment - finish some stuff around the house - make a baby with my wife - yes there are things in life more important than cars - sell my daily Mazda 3 which is jinxed (3 accidents in one year non at fault) - buy new daily - lose weight - be nicer to everyone - contribute to rolla club with tech stuff from my conversion, taking lots of pics along the way - attend cruises and stuff with my newly awesome AE71 Thats about it.

Saturdays Advertiser, page 47. Article on Aldinga Beach has a pic of the beach from 1987. Black and White but you can see a overrated T18 and KE70 in there. They look sick. I wonder if it would cost much to get the pic from the Advertiser. :yak:
