ignition coil? I once had a coil that would intermittently cut out and behave similar to that.

As discussed with him today auto and manual floor pans are different in these. I have read of the two crossmembers being welded together... do some googling and searching on here.

I have been a customer of Shannons for years now. They can be a little picky and its not always to do with type of car or age, more attitude. Their claims experience is awesome, which really is the most important part as that is why you pay insurance. I had an issue with my choice of repairer, basically they did a crap job. Shannons sent my car to another repairer then sent the original one the bill for the extra repairs. All at no extra cost or real hassle to me.

Sounds like a jap diff to me. I have a tail shaft here if you are in sa that will suit. Jap have no plate on rear and the other type is Borg warner that does have plate.

Does the diff have an inspection plate on the back of it? sounds like you have the wrong tail shaft but you need to answer the question first to know which one you need.

Can't agree more with number 3. You see so many people pour thousands into a rusty body when an extra $500 and a bit of patience at the start would have yielded a better end car.

Hit starter motor with a hammer while turning key. I had a car with similar issue.Before the hammer if you jump started it the starter would swing into action. The hammer worked for months :)

Corolla owners!!! Yes I realise where I am but...... Especially owners of old ones like KE20's and the like. I am wrecking a couple and you get enquiries for overrated parts for interior etc. When are they going to realise that these cars are 40 years old and if you want overrated interiors etc you may actually have to part with some hard earned in order to get things retrimmed. Have you investigated engineering in SA? Not worth it. Unless of course you are building a $20k plus car that you don't mind blowing chunks for engineering on.

I did this once in my ae92 Sx. Fried lots of fuses. I would be checking them all there aren't many in the early girls.

and if it isn't either of those two... your pressure plate has failed and you would need a new one.

Clutch fluid looks on the low side to me. Id be bleeding the clutch and seeing if the pressure in the pedal returns. If it doesn't either your master cylinder or slave is leaky. The master will leak into the footwell more likely. Id check under the carpet up near the firewall.

I had an ignition coil that did this once. Run fine for a while... bang run like car has tourettes, run fine, bang etc. Never hurts to go over the ignition system and replace a few parts. :)

I don't mind the roof rack thing. I sold a set for $65 which would normally be worthless ;) I saw a S14 today with some on... farks sake :(
