  1. lol do i want to go down this path?! haha
  2. I wouldnt mind free'er haha (interestingly enough no red underline on free'er) I know the basics but is it worth it? Think I might as well do it. Considering car is half apart again. :) might even put a reverse sensor on it :P Specs for the cam bellow..
  3. haha stil not sure if a he or she.. depends how hard I drive her :P haha yeah.. the cutting it up is what will hurt most.. :P so probably not.. Ill get the nose lower and maybe widen those mazda rims more :) Cam is all done.. rebuilding the carb.. now . opinions on the flywheel? lighten or not? I like the idea of a easy revving engine but wouldn't that just be in neutral? Considering the weight of the car, compared to the small spinning weight of the flywheel? yeah..
  4. What it looked like yesterday.. At the stage where I'm not sure if i want to go cutting it up and putting flares on.. Hrmmm.. Cheers, hope you like... Also .. getting cam done.. Got told by Clive Cams they will do a 161? haha no idea.. I'm an idiot and didnt get the specs.. heard they are quality place so.. hope its all good :)
  5. Off the road again.. well as off now.. haha cam and sidedraft plus little things .. not sure how to chuck photos but will do tonight on the computer. . (Phone atm)
  6. kimda regret cutting mine up now :S haha waste of cash.. :S well tell me how it works out.. seems to clear fine :) nice sight :P haha .. what brakes are those? cheers for the updates.
  7. had a feeling that was coming.. haha that's why i wrote didn't have a close look :P Thanks
  8. One of the boys has it on his ke70.. well didnt have a close look... looked like a sway bar :P the pic is below.. Now for my sway bar. I will go check one set up that a bloke said worked out n then update this.. haha don't want to even post a picture of 'what was planned' haha ..
  9. the ke70 hubs are easy to chuck on.. but I'm more interested in the rears.. has anyone actually done that ke30 changeover? haha if i just needa shorten them then i \would that way and then i have two options.. running 110 and 114.3 :) Semi off topic my bad..
  10. haha ferk, don't want to be pole vaulting anywhere! :P Gave it a crack yesterday, quit half way coz of the temperature haha but noticed that the bar will probably foul on the body now. Ill try n upload a photo soon.. its getting too 'Ugly' now.. not sure if ill be doing it.. :S ... If the bar is under such loading how can there be those adjustable one's? Like with that thread and bold set up in the middle of it.. Wouldnt that give way as well? Cheers. Ill take some photos today.
  11. Yes it chamfered, not too much but yeah after cutting it we cleaned it up and layered the welds. I think it should be strong enought to hold but will it loose its 'spring'?
  12. so i bought a whiteline swaybar for my ke17.. annd it fouls on my brake calipers so i had it shortened.. as in cut a chunk out of the middle n then re-welded it. now I'm getting mixed reactions..some say it needs to be heat treat it, lost its strength etc.. and some are saying it will be okay to chuck it on... opinions.. ? think ill chuck it tomorrow, see how we go? cheers amar
  13. I found this clip to be useful. snot35 seems like you spot on :P Cheers Taz, good research.
  14. Hi all.. Well nearly sorted the 5k back together but tonight had a look to see while i had everything apart to maybe port the intake , match bla bla etc.. Its a 5k, 5k head, extractors are 4-2-1 ( dnt know brand) gasket is a Toyota product.. that metal one. (can get code if helps) I put the gasket onto the extractors to see how they line up and was surprised to see that the gasket ports were much smaller then the size of the actual extractor ports.. As an estimate like 2mm on each side. So not like the intake where I will probably need to take 2mm at the bottom but all round. The gasket lines up resonably well with the head ports and the intake ports... sooo I'm thinking that this would interrupt flow substantially.. Is it like this always or? Cheers Amar
  15. Well i would be keen .. How many people would you need Stuart and how much monies each? :P
  16. I have a 1970 ke17, no seat belts at back :D .. looks cleaner.. people complain tho :P
  17. No point of taking it apart.. got told by Lovells that they havent had a single order for that in year n no stock.. " there like a GHOST" haha thats what i got told :S Cheers anyway
  18. ill get em tomoro .. :)
  19. the top of that bar gong across? I can see the weld .. then you re-weld it? Have to call Lovells before i do any cutting .. haha
  20. Hi .. been a while but quick question.. I'm having difficulties actually getting these things out.. :S any advice? Also the Lovells says "control arm inner" that would cover all the components? don't want to go ripping it apart if i can't replace. Cheers
  21. Lol the photos will come once I finish it .. getting some new lenses as well so :) Well information about the steering box is limited because I don't know it either :P .. I handed it over to Peter R. he said he would take care of it for me.. Said around the 300-400 mark.. I called around and got told 330.. but he said thats without looking at it.. Sooo once I find out what the go is ill inform.. Mine was quite screwed lol.. soo minght not be fixable.. yeah the diff ill have to research more on so that I can comment atm .. kinda clue less - regardless thanks for the info. and yeah if you could Phil that would be great. :) One important thing for me was the gearing... because my 1st gear is like .. SUPER short haha great to take of n change!!! :P .. just figure that i might as well if i will be forking out the cash for the gears :S.. :) Tie rods were sourced by Nathan at Advantage Suspension .. great bloke.. no bull n knows his stuff.. Always has great cars around the joint.. :D Cheers
  22. And like always the project goes back on the stands .. This time around looking at upgrading the front suspension components before summer starts! I know this is going to hurt many ke1X lover but I managed to get KE17 fine thread tie rod ends!!! hahaha When the guy said that he managed to source some i was like... :| .. :D It all started with a blown head gasket, got the head reco'd, the webber reco'd, the STEERING BOX reco'd haha that was interesting to see the play.. :S In short things that will be done or have been done: -Steering Box -Carburetor -Head work -Upgraded to KE70 front brakes -TIE ROD FINE :P - Some new rubbers ( less wind noise :P) -Sway bar cut shorter so does not foul the brakes.. n yeah.. thats about it.. -Had some bits sandblasted and powdercoated -Center console clock :) Things that want to be done: -Diff gears and LSD... Any ideas or places to go? -Front lip? yes or no? anyway two photos are the Tie rod ends and the handy clock work.. The clock actually worked but karked a bit later on.. need that fixed as well.. Cheers Amar
  23. yeah there are three screws under the rubber and two behing the door cards as Jono said.. Just wanted to add tho while you are doing this you will be taking most of the door apart might as well run n get the bailey chanel rubbers as well.. I didnt do it first time around so it will be smart to do it now.. The roof is glued on under the rubber soooo id say yes you will need to take the glass out..
  24. Annyyway.. Peter (cptn Corolla ) told me that the whole thing comes of with the column n all soo.. of I go ..
  25. Lol so i have hit that shit brick wall while under the car and trying to take one part off.. Attempting to get my steering box off as to have it reconditioned but I can not take it apart for the column/shaft inside the car.. What did i miss along the way? Cheers Amar
