Hi all Junior = Nick name Jamie = Real name Cars = VN Calais, Ke70 Corolla, 1JZ Soarer Cruise to Hinze dam sounds like a good thing... I went on one a few months ago with a datsun club, great day, heaps of places to pull of and stop on the way. Here is a link to the cruise and it might give you an idea of what it was like. Go here and go to the gallery, look at the 2003 QDPC Cruise link. (I can't get the link to go straight to it.. so this will have to do) BTW I am in Toowoomba, not Brisbane/Gold Coast Also Skidman, your WWW link doesn't work. You got any more pictures and info on this celica. I have seen the ones on boostcruising too.

This may become a fairly large thread i think, but just wondering if people want to post pics of past and present rides. Nick may also be able to add them to the gallery from there too. I start by posting a few pics in a minute...Btw in the last 7 years I have in total owned 15 cars.

Really it's only a small snail... It's off a 12a turbo. And the engine code is M-TEU. It's a cast iron block, 2 litre, straight 6, single cam, injected, turbo, water/air intercooler, etc. Car was originally an auto, so it gets a conversion to manual at the same time.
-
Oh yeah...that is a snail on there.

12 months worth of bog dust and overspray on it. Being sitting in a mates shed where he is a spray painter. I bought the car from him.

Grimwolge : Getting rid of the dredded M series engine was always the plan with this, but it wasn't the usual 7M motor. Here's a pic of it before it got yanked in favour of the 1JZ. :ninja:

demuire : not sure on what's happening with the rims yet.

Just thought i would share some details on my new project. I know it's not a Corolla, but it is Toyota none the less. It's an MZ10 Toyota Soarer, which is being given a new lease on life by adding a 1JZ Twin Turbo engine and 5 speed. Car at this stage will most likely be built primarily for drifting and curcuit work, as well as daily driven. That means roll cage, harnesses, etc. The car.. A little filthy here though The donor half Cut

I think you will find that it is a 3Y engine found in the petrol hilux's and also hiaces... It also has a 2l engine capacity, 75kw of power.

Umm... For the clutch we used a TA22 celica master cylinder, and modified the pedal box. You will find the that the firewall may have a centerpunch mark where the hole should be for the master cylinder.. this just needs to be drilled out the appropriate size. As for the pedal box, not sure how different this may be as the KE55 was originally an auto, but i cut the section of a ta22 pedal box and modified the ke55 one so the pedal sat in the right spot, then welded it all up. Seems to fit all up ok. As for drilling a hole in the pedal, i think i looked at that, but it was about an inch to the right and wouldn't line up... can't be sure though Here's a pic of the clutch master cylinder and the pedal box anyway.

Thought I might entice you lot with some more pics of the KE55 It's actually starting to look more and more like a car with windows, windscreens and stuff back in and the wheels fitted up. Hope you all like... and thanks for all the great comments. :D :)

Yes a small plate has been welded onto the floor that extends over the gap in the inner guard.. The surge tank was then screwed down to that. Pretty simple and tidy.. What sort of surge tank you got? What size??
-
Yes the CA certainly does look abit like a 4AGE when it doesn't have the plug cover on it. I would say the ca is abit longer than a 4age and also a bit taller... But there is no problems fitting them into a corolla, that for sure. It's coming along pretty quick now and should be running in a few weeks.... Can't wait :KY:

Lastest Pic of Engine Install. ;) :KY: Cheers Jamie

Turbo is a 400hp Garrett BB type. The fuel lines were pretty much copies of the originals, or run along were they where anyway.
-
demuire: We have 5/16" bundy steel tube for both feed and return the full length of the car. It is illegal to run rubber lines under the car for the full length...more chance of them splitting. Also the surge tank is from GCG turbos... Cheap for the quality of product. nitephyre : Turbo is still only a GT25 :blinks: Jamie

No the diff hasn't been shortened yet, still the standard diff for now.
-
Yeah, we just wanted to see how low we wanted it to be. This is what it looks like without the people in it...and iut has 2" lowering blocks in it already. Cheers Jamie
-
There the 8's too... and they fit like a glove with 215/40/16 tyres. :blinks: Jamie
