Thanks Nick :rocknroll: i just don't understand why toyota would not have made a 5ke. I would assume then from what i have been told that 4ke efi system should bolt on to the 5k as a direct bolt on or with little modification. Having said that i now have to locate one and see. Has any one done this before. :P
-
wow those k engines are, well should i say f@#$in awesome. Just keep posting me pics you are giving me idea's. :rocknroll:
-
Quick question, Were any 5ke made? or were the just the 4ke and 7ke made. Because if 4ke were made and if 5ke were not made then if i was to make a 5ke i would have to use a 4ke efi system is this correct or am i just dumb and making this sound harder than it is. Also were abouts do i go finding these parts, because if i have to import them, it would be almost as cheap to buy the whole engine ready to go.

Well just so you know i think you could be wrong about the dates i was at the wreckers the other day and on the vin of the ke70. It said 83 the month was December. So i think the later stages might have come in around November December however it could of been an older one converted, all though if it was converted it wasent dodgey. I don't want to debate this as i was shore ke70's between 81-83 were the older style but untill i saw this car i was wrong. As i said this could have been converted and i don't doubt youre knoweledge of corolla's, I'm going back sometime this week and i will check the car out again, if I'm am wrong though i will stand corrected. :rocknroll:
-
Well thats cool, i like the description of the hurricane. Sounds like you need a new exhaust system have you got anything planned.
-
Because my car is an 84 then i would have to convert it back to the older style 81-82. That will probally take some time to do properly. Then i would have to find the twin headlight setup and in Australia that would be like finding a needle in a hay stack, Besides i like the 83-84 shape better. Thanks Teddy :rocknroll:

I wouldnt bet on it, with all that gear it is more than likely to be out. -
Whoops just correct that.:rocknroll: Well Nick in the back of my mind i was thinking that to, i have always had doubts about Monroe as i have always been told they were shit or you get what you pay for, and if lovells wernt good then why are the in hot4's mags and fast fours. I will do a bit more research and what i get is what i get. :P
-

Not sure but i don't think you will keep the same speedo cailbration if you put 255's on. (One way to find out chuck them on and drive past a speed camera joke :S ). Or just take it to a tyre place and they should tell you :) -
Thats what i would do, call autometer or take it back if its not the dial its an earth or some dodegy wiring that your sound system or something may be interfering with.
-
Hey geoff Just a quick question that setup did you build it yourself or did you pay someone cuz i think you have inspired me to do something like that on my ke30. No matter i wish i had. (To add to dream cars list supercharged ke30) :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is not a common install. Why because to fit it you have to hack your dash and all the surrounds. The electrics are different to. Trueno were japanese cars and only a few were imported at the same time during the 80's. Ae71 were made in Australia. At that stage Japanese Technology was more advanced than us. Thus i would most say the wiring would be all different and to fit this is going to be one hell of a task. Before you get to involved and start hacking i would compare wiring diagrams of the engine, dash, and any thing else you think might help you between ae71-Trueno. I think Teddy fitted a T18 gauge to one of his 70's if his got pics he should show you the amount of work that will be needed to fit this, as just an example. The trueno gauge will probally require more fuses also. If you can't or don't wont to fit this your self than pay someone. This is probally not going to be worth it as to pay some won you are going to need an auto electriction and the and interior specialists then there is an there hourly rate on top of that. If you do get it fitted it will be very unique and i hope you like it. :)

Right Fella's did some research yesterday (was my day off). Well to my suprise i found out that Lovells and Pedders are shit. This may be a biased opionion as to where i went. But i was showed stats of repairs and customers who were not happy with lovells or pedders. To my estonishment people who had fitted pedders to there car were not happy and either they were replacing shocks within the first month. This applied to lovell to. However i found out that kings have a good reputation and that hardly no one complains funny because they are much cheaper. This also applied to Monroe to. I'm going to look in to Bilsteins as the place i went to recommend them if you are going to do a custom Job. If i get Blienstien this will set me back a bit because they are the dearest but you get what you pay for. After that i needed a break to much information so i bought a kebab.

Well i can tell you for a fact that my take offs are faster and that i do have better traction. As for daily driving i used to feel every bloody bump in the road but not know it just glides over i couldnt of asked for any thing better. I will take some better pics when i wash my car on the weekend, bit dirty, and i don't like it. BUt I'm so stoked with my car and the way it handles. No 1 major upgrade for any car is better rims and tyres i should think. -

So now its Kings and Monroe combination. can't wait Cuz i got mates rates to. Ah yeh that picture was the only link i could find but it is the same rim different finish thats all. :) Oh and just so you people know the tyres are Goodyear Eagle Ventura. I tried for F1's but they didnt have any these were the next best so i got these. I'm happy the handling and traction is way improved, i can only think whats going to happen when my suspension gets done. I can't wait "modyfying cars is so much fun". -
