  1. Proper coilovers? If you do a sleeve kit they are proper coilovers. Put good springs and shocks in the made up sleeves and hey presto! Otherwise if you want off the shelf coilovers I wouldn't know where to look. AE92 stuff fits in (someone confirm?)
  2. Call a car upholsterer. They have the answer. I don't understand why you're going the hard way about it and leaving yourself hanging, waiting for an answer. If you want to know how much someone does something for, call THEM, rather than ask other people that may or may not know. eg. If you want to know how much suspension costs. Who ya gunna call? No, not Rollaclub - Dave's Suspension Shop. *sigh*
  3. RB20 will be a fair bit cheaper and easier to acquire parts. Hurry up and decide what engine you're putting in. You started off with 5K or 4AGE, then 3RZ, Mazda Familia, Jet Engine, 1JZ, 1GGTE. Which will it be champ?! :P ps. I'm sure there was a rotary in there somewhere.
  4. Red wins already. Game over :P
  5. Except the crank has 4k stamped on it :(
  6. Not without some awesome fabrication skills. :D
  7. But they're Grimus' seats :P
  8. Where in Canberra are you? I've only ever used Phillip Head Services and Kambah Automotive and Exhaust. They were good for what they did! Pharley's are good with Corolla's so I've heard (they are in Hume). That doesn't sound good! Where is fluid leaking from?
  9. To make stiffer ones add another leaf. KE36/KE38 are a TAD stiffer, but an extra leaf would be easier to acquire!
  10. I like either of them ideas! 5K will be funner because it sounds like it goes harder (a few thousand more RPM's). I'd know haha :S It's white? It's yellow :) Still has a long way to come, but that's a big milestone. Props fellas.
  11. Other wheel has arrived! Sorry no deals - they're too good haha... Would swap wheels for a red AE71 wagon? :hmm: I'm getting the 14x8's off a bloke from AE86, but it's coming from Nip land so I have to wait about the same as you. Ahh, shame about the blocks mate.
  12. Go panda style, like the AE86's! I think it would look really good, actually. I have a soft spot the the AE82 Twin-Cam's! Quite a classic hot hatch and sometimes look really good, like yours :blinks: But you need to get a new Twin-Cam front! :blinks:
  13. So you mean to say Corolling about? Hit the slanty gutters or traffic islands. Or if you're lucky enough to find one, a dirt mound on someone's front lawn :hmm:
  14. Great progress guys. I bet you're over the moon, Josh :hmm: Good choice for the engine conversion, guys. 5K didn't come with EFI, it was either the 4K-E in overseas starlets, or the 7K-E. The 7K setup is a lot better, so I've heard, and is probably easier to acquire being released in Townace Vans, which will probably start filling up the wrecking yards soon enough.
  15. To set up a KE55 for decent street/drift, you'd be spending ALL of that 6K and probably more on custom suspension and a 4A-GE conversion or similar. Unless you want to make or get made, at a cost, a few custom parts and completely rebuild a K-series motor (5k would be best for boost) and slap a dirty turbo on it, you won't see driftworthy performance. Even then, it'd take a beating as these engines aren't designed for boost. However, you will have a LOT of fun tearing around back roads and dirt roads with a tough naturally aspirated setup. There are just some Corolla's that AREN'T designed to drift. KE55 included. It has a leaf suspension rear end, short wheel base, and the on-track rigidity of a tin shed in a wind tunnel. If you want to get into drifting, buy a KE70/AE71 and bolt some AE86 gear and a 4A-GE in. You'll have a great learning car that will be a shitload of fun on the track. From experience, the best way to spend money on a Corolla is by making it stick to the road, comfortable, maintained and to have fun at the same time.
  16. Well was good to have a chat with someone else that takes pride in a Rolla! Only three of the f@$kers have arrived - the other is cruising around AusPost's hands :blinks:. Who knows what happened. Might be a little while to get it worst case. I'm getting some other wheels too. 14x8 -offset (not sure how much), but weren't cheap! How do you plan lowering the wagon in the back? Please don't say lowering blocks! :hmm: I've got a couple left too... I have (willing to sell): 1x White "RC" logo sticker (as you saw on my car) 1x Red "RC" logo sticker 1x Red "www.rollaclub.com" sticker 1x White "www.rollaclub.com" sticker 1x Orange "www.rollaclub.com" sticker "RC" Logo $7 ea. "www.rollaclub.com" stickers $5 ea.
  17. Some things don't need reasoning. In my opinion... A daily duties car; candy paint; oldschool rims. I can spot the odd one out! No doubt it will look hot as shit :)
  18. Bloody awesome, fellas! Gratz on the tailgate. Everyone: Watch this space
  19. I met you out at Gungahlin on the building site. I'm Vince, the bloke with the other red Corolla. Wanna test fit them coilovers in my car so you know what to do to put them in yours?
  20. A chemist?! A firework shop? A workshop?! Geez.. I can't think what it would be!
  21. That turbo manifold is off tap. Everything is of exceptional quality. This quite possibly could be the next Car Of The Year!
  22. Faaaaarrrrrk!!!! That's the boys weekend for my mates and I. That's a disappointing call. I should be there.
  23. And why!? :jamie: Bloody hell I wish I was up to this stage on my car, though. Marvelous job mate!
  24. Geez... You sure you don't need any more spotties? That's a nice AE86 mate! What cars do you have in the country that you're in? (Australia?)
  25. On a scale of 1 to 10, how "bad" is the noise emitting from the box. If it bothers you while driving, that's probably when it is getting close to failure. If you plan to keep the gearbox, it would be wise to give the gearbox a refurbish, rather then toeing the line for however long it lasts, as it could do damage when it finally gives. Otherwise source another gearbox and just be prepared for it to fail! It happened to me while doing a pizza delivery leading up to some traffic lights... I wasn't able to move after I stopped. What kind of noise? Grinding, clunking (fast, slow, intermittent?), whirring?
