  1. Would be a good learning experience for you to come and have a chat! Even just us guys could tell you a lot about your car. Come along if you have an experienced and fully licensed passenger!
  2. Granny is cheaper, somehow gets the ladies. JDM is expensive, impresses your boyfriend.
  3. N/A would mean that you'd have great throttle response for drifting. N/A is cooler anyway. Every man and his dog run turbo's these days. Probably the best bang for your buck diff upgrade would be a T-series Corolla diff. They came in Jap AE86's and also TE7x series corolla's. The TE72 definitely has them, however, due to the other TE7x models not being released in Australia I'm not sure if the other TE7x models do. The reason is you can purchase an LSD geared to suit drifting.
  4. I assume the pulley bolt "holds it in place", but I guess that means you need a puller. Get a gregory's!
  5. Ooh.. That was good planning then wasn't it! I assume a others are going to the hill climb also? I may change the date if it conflicts enough.
  6. It will bump up the compression and if it has been worked, that's a bonus! A cam would be a great upgrade too. Quite cheap to do if you install it yourself. But then you'll need an exhaust too  How long do you anticipate before the 4A conversion is under way?
  7. Why not go 7M-GTE? It's newer and there are probably more aftermarket parts for them than a 5M. But... Might as well go 1J or 2J if you'd go as far as 7M. If it were me I'd put a carbied 5M N/A screamer in. Just because N/A is so much cooler!
  8. Oh please, daddy please!
  9. Check the events thread, Muzza! Cruising the cotter in a few weeks if you've got the balls :laff:
  10. Must be hell fun as a daily? Even my 5K KE70 was a blast and I was running 1/3rd the power :)
  11. After all of the rains, it might not be the best John. That's not to say don't bring one! Just leave it at the BBQ car park if you're worried and come for a ride with someone else. Great response guys! Should be an eventful day :laff:
  12. Clean the poor thing. It looks like it belongs...... where you found it!
  13. Glad I live in the ACT! Those laws are ridiculous. It really ruins the fun for genuine enthusiasts that are into classic cars, who also like to keep up with traffic. Rant over.
  14. Just check the stud pattern on the Corona top. If it doesn't fit, swap them over by undoing the nut under the grease cap. Easiest way to check if things fit is by physically putting it in or comparing.
  15. Nice ride J Riftin! Now that I've seen it, it had to be your car that I saw on Sulwood drive :) Do you compete in any other events or take it on track days?
  16. Hi Everyone, On Sunday the 20th of March, from 11am - 3:30pm we will be having the RollaClub Canberra Region Cotter Run. (Cruise) The plan is as follows! * 11:00am - 11:15am - Meet and greet  at Weston Creek Carlovers for last-minute spit and polish (Trenerry Street, Weston). We will then depart for "The Hairpin" on Brindabella Road. * 11:45am - 12:15pm - Relax for a short drink for a photo shoot at "The Hairpin". * 12:45pm - 3:30pm - After the photoshoot we'll start heading to the Cotter Road Camping and BBQ area, near the Mineshaft, which is NOT the regular camping spots that are under development. Once arrived, we'll stop for a couple of bevy's, snags and go for a scenic drive on the dirt. :guiness: If you can, please be generous and bring a plate of food. If not, there should be plenty to go around. Sausages, bread, sauce, etc. and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. It's an open forum, so if you've got any questions post them up! See you on the day, Vince.
  17. YES! You'd be one of, if not, the first to do it if you did :)
  18. Fs: 5K, 5Spd, 3K, Other K Stuff 55 Rear Bar, K50, 4K, 5K Heeps More! 4Kc, K50 And Other Parts From Ke70 Sedan Took 5 minutes to find you some gearboxes for sale. If you buy a KE70 5-speed, you will need to change the extension housing (also known as shifter housing) from your KE55 box to the KE70 one.
  19. Until you have everything (including the information) for your 4A-GE conversion, get a replacement box, which will cost you no more than $250 and stick with your 5K. If you didn't catch on before, we're not going to spoon feed you information, because we all know from experience, it is definitely out there... SHITLOADS of it. That's the best advice you're gonna get mate. Otherwise be prepared to pay a LOT of money for someone else to do it URGENTTLY!!
  20. Is the ignition setup on the 4K? What is the ignition setup?
  21. Great job getting it in mate. You should be able to get some fairly decent parts for the 2TG as it was quite a popular TRD item in the day. Initially you probably won't come across parts too often, but I'm sure if you looked in the right places there'd be a mile of TRD and other performance parts waiting to be snatched up. ps. You only need to tune the carby's once if done right the first time.
  22. I think Paul sold this car a fair while ago, ROSSI! This was a pretty old thread.
  23. Have had my eye on this thing for a while now. Finally some light at the end of the tunnel, and gee williker it's bright :) All the best gents, Vince.
  24. What the f@$k is a hand brake power out? Do it somewhere legal buddy. No one will support what you're trying to achieve if this is what you're going to report back to us.... ""Thanks for the advice, the new springs/engine are awesome.. lol I almost hit a kid drifting today.""
  25. Probably not.....
