  1. Holy crap! It's Sammo's car... :) LOL Seen a lovely KE30 in Kambah today after work. Beautifully polished and straight. Yellow and I think it had the KE55 grille that I'm after! Looked like a man with a name somewhere along the lines of Vonshlagovic or Schlechnakov.
  2. Squat! :) Loving the diff and rear suspension. Convo Pro's are killer. Now I've read in a few threads and have been told by a couple of people that when you're welding a really long stretch of weld, it's best to do it in short strips and leave a gap before the next one. The reason being is that if the weld breaks, it might crack along the whole weld... I see that there's lots of LONG welds in your engine bay and since you're running lots of power (I assume so :fuzz: ) it is unlikely, but it could crack in the event of the chassis twisting... But, since you're a bloody handy panel fabricationer, you must have a reason for doing the job how you've done it.
  3. Hi Chester. I'm working in Belconnen at the moment on a site. If I could grab your number or you can give me a call on 0424 240 649. Should be able to come around after work or on lunch if you're at home sometime next week.
  4. Coooool! Not a fan of the purple cars :) Hope you keep yours matte black. Looks rad.
  5. I see :)
  6. I've got a 4k Steve! Supposedly runs pretty well. Have lots of spares if anything on it (apart from block) doesn't work. Comes with everything. $100 if she's a good runner. That's including everything on it. We'll put it in together if you're keen :) Interested in looking at parts off the KE70 Chester. Where in Canberra? Won't be for a couple weeks unfortunately. Are you getting rid of it soon?
  7. Best Toyota engine ever made. :)
  8. I've summed it up that Gav isn't that bright at panel work :) Only reason is because he's never had to do any! Looks perfect (of course the rear bar is NEVER perfect on a KE36 :fuzz: ). I especially love the colour of the interior. It's so pretty.
  9. As it says in the other (Canberra) thread/s we're planning for Sunday 7th of March for a BBQ and cruise. The last one was great fun :) Welcome aboard, Damo! :P
  10. Got a 5-speed with a slight bearing noise in 1, 2, 3 (will need to take it easy on it). Can do it (fairly) cheap for obvious reasons. Has shifter. Is exact same fit as a 4-speed but with a bonus. Had it in my KE70 for half a day to see before I swapped it with the other 5-speed I had. It should last quite a while if he only "drives" it.
  11. But... you... have... 250RWKW. :) 5.5kg is a bees dick of difference! When are you in Canberra next? Whenever you are, come and check out the seats I have. :bash: Canberra cruise on Sunday 7th of March. Pretty sure you should make the trip just for that :P ps. Just looked at that site again with the seats and I rekon you're just doin' it cos they're cheaper! :bash:
  12. Ok! My adding up of dates wasn't correct :) (it was meant to be Sunday anyway). I'm locked in. Who else?
  13. Quite nice little cars indeed. Would be awesome for a daily :P Make it nice lol
  14. Sounds like you've got it all worked out Matty! Shame to hear about the bog. When I'd called the guy before I bought it, I asked about the rust. He said the only rust he could see was in the driver pillar. Flaming liar he was. :P What's the benefit of fixed back seats over bendy seats? I'm sure they can't be THAT much better for what they're designed for. :bash: I've already got my seats sorted for the KE30 so I don't need to worry about it though :)
  15. Keep us updated! (Rides thread) :)
  16. Bloody hell! :) So....... clean :)
  17. Oh shiiit lol.. Well weekend after that. I want to go to powercruise so bad! must be an awesome show!!! 5th of March it is!
  18. Great thoroughness with your car champ. Especially to ALL running components outside of the car. Do you do a lot of work on the interior? Great workshop you get to work in BTW! :)
  19. Ok guys, we'll set the date for Sunday 28th of Feb. If you've already got something planned or aren't going to be here, let us know NOW and we can set another date before the last minute.
  20. I've always wanted to turn a KE35 into a mini Valiant Charger :) Really think I could make one look heaps similar. Anyway, as for the lights, I was thinking the 1972 RT charger lights would look amazing on the front of a KE3/5x :)
  21. Definitely calls for a meetup everyone! Get yeh gear, we're goin for a barbie down ye' Cotter road!!! :) ps. I just renewed registration and am over my concussion so I can drive again! Definitely 200% keen for a cruise again. :)
  22. f@$k yea, Chappo! Grats on getting it running champ. The last bit you have to do will be the funnest part! Makes me jealous too haha :)
  23. They're not the easiest to come across here either... I was pretty lucky to get mine for just $80! But I haven't seen a set for less than $250 now, which go up to prices of $500 for a set of four. I'm so glad I got them cheap, but I want wider for the back :) Pretty much impossible to get in 4 stud. 14x8-9 five stud go for go for $500+ a PAIR. Anyway, good to hear that you're getting all the gear to bolt up most of the underside of your car. Can't wait to show you my KE30 when I start getting work done to it. Might look half as good as yours :)
  24. What made you say that 13x7 hotwires are better than 14x7? I'll be running 14x7's on my KE30 when it's running atleast till I stop liking them
  25. If it's your first conversion go a 5k.. Simple as toast. A 7k requires slight modification to fit. Do a search for 7k and you'll find some project threads. Point your questions in that direction if you want to ask about it!
