  1. No restrictions on legalities....1UZ......2JZ......i think thats all that needs to be said!
  2. love your work man! Thats the same way i did my in dash gauges, a bit of glue, acrylic plastic, and some filler. Looks awesome! The mesh is subtle too, which is good!
  3. Man what a score!
  4. I got my front one from windsceens obrien, they were a bit cheaper than clark rubber.
  5. Absolutely love the work man! Most are scared to have a crack at something, you've done very well :y: :y: Yep, the qld rules are the same as the nsw ones mentioned above, also if you're vehicle is over 1100kg, and has a full chassis the rules change to x 5.46 for n/a, and x 4.68 for forced induction. my crown has a full chassis, and it makes me excited just thinking about it :(
  6. I chose not to use a surge tank, instead i made a gravity feed setup, where i replaced the drain plug in the tank with a hose fitting. This will give no issues in daily driving, but on a real empty tank, if you were to do a quick flick in a burnout, or similar, it would likely run out of fuel. I would not risk it on any sort of forced induction, or worked motor, but as a stock 5k, if it was to ever happen, no harm would come of it. On the ke30, i run a bosch 044, a 130gph lift pump, and am upgrading to 3 litre surge tank, sounds like you're on the right track with yours, i would definately run a surge tank on it, even a small one would be fine, as long as your fuel return line goes back into the surge tank.
  7. Will be there i recon, is that the go cart one, or the toyota day one? Or am i skipping past something? Thanks brad, will keep that in mind for next time!
  8. Thanks everyone! It can be pretty easy, aftermarket computers are very easy to wire, especially this one because it only controls fuel, The only wires are coil + and - , water temp, injectors, battery +, and tps. It is a microtech d4s, it is so old the tuning is done by screwdriver, so its even simpler! I picked it up for $150, which is the most you would ever pay for one. :y: this is the computer: my efi fuel pump all hooked up. And this is yesterday, the making of the gearbox crossmember to suit the trimatic, don't even ask why i didnt just go to a manual, i really don't know anymore! Tomorrow, I will make the gearbox linkages, and check out the tailshaft situation. Then, i just need a bit of exhaust made up front, because the efi exhaust manifold is slightly different. Then rwc!
  9. Thanks gents, i didnt know what the efi is off either, i bought it like this. Hey scott the big hammer worked a treat, shes in there and bolted up, a bit messy but I'm in a hurry. This weeks dilemmas: After hooking all wires up i checked for the first 'vital', spark. Had none, so tried a few different dizzys, checked all wires, remade some wires, ect ect. Come thursday, still no results. So out came the electronic dizzy, and back in with the points.........yay! at least i have spark now! Will persevere with the electronic one later. Now i have spark, it seems i have no fuel. so i went and bought some injector testers, and happily there is an injector pulse. So after trying all sorts of fuel setting i decide, the injectors must be seized. So i used the 550cc injectors out of the other rola. I put in 3x550cc, and one camry one, and she started, and ran! It was only running on 3 but after awhile the camry injector decided to work. So i slowly did this until all of the camry injetors were in and working. Anyways, now i did a quick tune with the screwdriver :S , and shes running a treat. Now i just have to hook up gearbox linkages, and tailshaft, and go for a spin!
  10. You are a cockhead, first you come on here claiming some stupid power out of a stocko 3k, Then, in this thread, you insult the people on here that actually have a clue. Noone gives a shit about your upright 3k, the reason it hasnt been done by everyone, is because there is no advantage in doing so, and if people wanted to do it they would, they don't need your stupid dumb ass help. :no2: :poke: :D
  11. You will without a doubt get more power out of a turbo, compared to an sc14. The sc14 would be easier to install IMO. Superchargers are never as efficient as turbo's, as they take power to make power. I wouldnt bother with either unless its efi. I personally will go the sc14, its easier, and we both know that even if you double your power, the car still wont be fast. So if you do either option, do it for fun, rather than expect to have a street racer.
  12. Thanks gents! Have been up late every night working on this, i have bolted the tri on and re-assembled most of the engine bay, attention to detail is lacking at present, as i need this car going asap. heres the motor going in.... I failed to measure weather the bodgy sump will clear everything, the swaybar is fighting the sump for room.... :hmm: So i thought it might slip past once the engine is in position, so i unbolted the stabilizer arms from the front, and slid the motor into position. This is sitting on the mounts all sweet. The swaybar has slipped past but is still touching the sump, so thats tomorrows job. cos I'm exhausted, and can't handle another late night...
  13. My KE30~ pros. Power to weight, 900ish kgs and 2lt turbo = fun Brakes, i can't believe how it stops, from any speed, 200kmph plus to zero in crazy time. cons. It handles pretty crap, gotta look at that one day, swaybars might help.... and its always pulled to bits, rarely going. My KE25~ pros. The most unbelievably rust-free shell i could ever imagine, i had the whole lot to bare metal too. The color of the paint, it took me 6 months to decide, but i think i made the right choice. potential to handle. cons. Damn slow, like, really slow. mostly cos of the busted toyoglide.
  14. yeh, definately the 25, should be going sweet by then..........i hope!
  15. The only thing i can think of would be injector size, and fuel pressure, that could vary and affect your starting. It is likely it would start and idle ok, and would get you to your local tuner. don't even consider not getting it tuned for the turbo though
  16. Awesome conversion mate, i still can't believe it fits!
  17. This sound like an excellent idea
  18. no worries! I got the engine bay painted today, Just got to put all the junk back in now, Also hooked a bit of power up to the 'super advanced microtech ds4' today too, from what i can tell it seems its might work, which is promising..... I got my fuel system finished too, i just mounted a hose fitting into the drain hole of the tank, and mounted the high pressure pump and filter under the car near the wheel well. Its just gravity fed to the high pressure pump, will add a surge tank if i need it, but i don't think i will. Here is my fittting in the drain hole.. No pics of the pump underneath, i should have took them before i let the car down again. These early rollas are cool too, cos they already have 8mm metal fuel lines! From memory the old ke30 had tiny little fuel lines, so thats a bonus. ;)
  19. I don't really love to paint :jamie: I like mechanical a whole lot more, its just the results that keep me going.... I spent 3 weeks on one rear quarter on the ke30 :rocknroll: i have no skills...... just persistence. anyways, yeh i am painting under the hood before the new donk goes in, so it should look nice in blue. I have a deadline to get all this together to drive for when my licence returns, so i have to get my crap together, or else i have to ride the zx10 to work in the freezing cold :y: Better get cracking......
  20. I get my licence back in 2 weeks, so i drove the old beast out of the shed to get her cleaned up for rego again. The problem is, i didnt realize exactly how stuffed the auto was :rocknroll: even after the oil top up, it got stuck attempting to get up the driveway, and started to roll backwards..... Sooo ive been tracking down some trimatic parts to do the conversion to 3spd, with my 5k. Much thanks to Corollaandy for the trimatic, and I'm underway. This is my assistant elf......hes getting old...... out she comes Too small even for a boat anchor.... Scrubbed the engine bay with some sugar soap, so now, after a quick sand shes ready for some paint. Have worked out a real easy way to do the efi pump setup too- but thats tomorrow. :jamie:
  21. This sounds awesome, do you normally have to enter your car before, or just rock up? never been before, but will definately have one rolla ready to go :lolcry:
  22. ^^^radrollaz ke55 swaybars are 22mm.
  23. Pretty sure i used monotorque, they had a full engine rebuild kit, and the price was good. This was some years ago so thats about all i remember.
  24. Its not legal to put an older motor into any vehicle, you can only go newer.
  25. Mine are +25, +15 0r +10 would also be fine. Do not get anything more than +25. :hmm:
