  1. yep, as soon as she hits the road first destination is munchies!!
  2. mate i have found a few local guys with tilt tray trucks that i use, they have cost less than hireing a trailer every time so far!
  3. just bought hurst shifter for this, and naprec valve springs. undercoated roll cage and touched up the floor. also painted inside the boot today, it turns out the crown and rolla have the same colour interior, so i could paint the crown dash and rolla at the same time.
  4. cheers mate, so bright! Got dash painted today, it is supposed to have a pad over it but the pad is stuffed, so painted metal it is............. old pad. dash painted the colour of the seats,
  5. man that interior is insane! nice find.
  6. awesome! much, much better. nice work!
  7. You don't use the stock tailshaft, you get it shortened, getting the engine as close to the firewall as possible is very important for you handling. Any engine that is heavier than the stock one is going to affect your handling, but a compromise can be met. my sr ke30 has heavier steering, and generally feels less nimble with the 2 litre, but still handles fine, if i never drove it with the 1300 in it, the handling would not really even get a mention. Things like longer lower control arms, s13 struts, wrong steering arms will screw your handling soooo much more!
  8. Cool! the old man told me about that guy, will be calling him for the ke30 definately, send me them details! cheers! the existing bodywork on the crown was not flash, and if i bothered to fix it , i would have changed the colour, then things get out of hand.......not good. keeping it cheap and easy. dropped off the roof lining today to get a new one made up. also dropped the diff off to the old man so he could oxy off the mounts, it took ages last time with the grinder! Give us a call when you're up brad, come round for a beer!
  9. Update!! the big one. I am convinced i have no skills at painting, so will be buffing it soon. I did a way better job of spraying my ke25, but this one is not real flat i have to admit. The ke30 back where it belongs. so now i shall fit the r31 diff, and pull the engine to do the bottom end..................then rego. oh yeh, rustproofing! and dropping the roof lining off tomorrow to get one made.
  10. cool! what state are you in? gotta love your persistence.
  11. you need to use the search function at the top of the page. for diff look for r31 or hilux. front brakes look for corona, celica. endless information!
  12. The only option is to unpick it with a drill (WINDSCREEN OUT) , or cut holes to access the section that needs repairing
  13. update......ish. tomie cams arrived today, solid 272, 12.5 lift. head is at the shop getting oversized valves fitted, looking at cnc porting atm, will see what i happens. australia all out for 127, hmmm, could be a good game......i hope!!??
  14. needs an earth, dummy one up and trial the idea i would think?

  16. will have to get my crap together. last year i scored a full efi 5k for $120, yep, serious bargains to be had!!
  17. All inside the doors are painted, damn this colour is bright!! Working away atm so will have to wait till the weekend to do the doors shut spray. Also my brothers sleeper spec 2jz mazda 929 is featured in the in-the-build section of zoom this month, he's pretty proud of himself.
  18. The official qld transport weight of your car is 930kg, so yes very legal. The required upgrades to suit the engine is entirely in your engineers hands. the book that the engineers go by leaves it entirely in the hands of the engineer what is 'sufficient' upgrades. generally diff, front and rear brake upgrades are all thats required, but you have to build the car keeping the engineer that you use in the loop at all times, some are very fussy, so it helps to use a recommended one.
  19. yep, those sleeves are available in all tube sizes.
  20. I went over and checked my ke25 rubbers after this was discussed last time. they are all ebay rubbers, and fitted perfectly. It has been 2 years, the front screen and door rubbers have aged fine, still soft, the rear screen rubber has started to crack already! I remember when i got them some had different packaging. so, you win some, you lose some, will have to pop the rear screen again in a year or two as it will probably get a heap worse. I paid $150 delivered for the whole kit.
  21. Thanks scott! you must have done a fair bit of welding yourself, you know how hard it is to weld this thin stuff. I'm a sparky by trade, i bought this little 120 a year ago, before that i used to borrow my brothers mig, the most helpful thing i did on the crown was change to a .6 wire from the normal .8, i think it made a big difference for me. Cheers!
  22. datsun is the same as ke30 onwards mazda is the same as ke30 and earlier. if they came off an eg. rx3, they will not fit a ke30.
  23. Yeh, i have one stuck in the shed wall, kind of glad it missed!
  24. update number 2. My sr20 head has a mild port job, solid lifters, adj. cam gears, good springs, 10mm lift cams. Have pulled it down now to fit 1mm oversized valves, 12.5 lift solid cams, and possibly upgrade the porting too. Engine bay is getting there after some serious panel work, and smoothing work, still some detail to go though. Crown has taken over the time and shed for now though.
