  1. I don't think there is a difference between the two with the leaf packs, i have a few sets here that i mix and match, they are off both early and late and all are the same thickness. Maybe your car is a bit sacked out, needs some new shockies and rubbers?
  2. love that commo green! the real deep dish 17s with polished reverse rims are a pretty showy look, no chrome!
  3. love the build, lots of new ideas there. For the turbo, you need to decide how much rwhp you want, and what boost you would like to run, and how much lag you are willing to put up with. A bottom end like yours is capable of making plenty of reliable power, the ze bottom end is a good thing. t28s come in many different guises, in the second hand variety the s15 silvia has the largest suitable one, the gtir t28 is larger but also has a .86 rear so not so good for the 1600. In new, the GT28rs is an insane turbo, capable of making 300rwhp, and making a very attractive power curve, just make sure you use the small rear housing (.63).
  4. Thanks man! Progress today, had rdo before i head away for work again. Dropped r31 axels off to get restud. Bought new wheel bearings. Got flywheel machined and picked up new clutch. Picked up roof lining. Ordered 6.5 meters of generic rubber seal for my rear quarter windows, at a cost of $150! ouch! Then after all that driving in the overpowered hyundai (at least it goes) i assembled bottom end with newly machined crank and bearing, rolled her over, put fresh clutch and flywheel on, and sat the engine back in the car.
  5. Personally i eliminate this pointless rubber from all my vehicles, ever wondered why your car axle tramps?
  6. well i made the effort to go, the traffic turned into a parking lot about 20ks out from bris, so i turned around. Nearly a 2hr drive for sfa. But you get that......
  7. looks mad, a whole lot of fun on the track too i bet!
  8. cool, good to hear, should be fun little budget build.
  9. Blow through will usually need the carby completely boxed in, unless it is a forced intended carby? Or are webbers exempt?
  10. I plan to be there if all goes well, no crown though, bring the steering wheel if you can jip. cheers!!
  11. awesome, now I'm happy, thanks for the info, willowbank is now on my destination list just for kicks! going off seat of pant i say a 15.5, only one way to find out.
  12. agreed, love the progress!
  13. thanks man, so same as they use in the 4a conversions? should i be nice to it behind the 7mge? Thanks for the comments everyone, i am leaving the wheels at least until the tyres are done, the sheet i had on the wheel fell off, 2 pack is a prick to clean off too. The car got delivered with no oil in the sump, and as a result a faint tick which imo would quickly turn into a knock, so i decided to save the crank and fix it now before i get it on the road. 7mgte i wish, but don't need the extra work for now. I noticed now that i have rolled the engine over it has an mls head gasket, so that problem has been seen to...which makes me happy.
  14. cage painted the new interior colour. cams 272, 12.5 lift new studs, the arp ones for an sr20 are shite, so had to buy more dammit. 1mm oversized valves, still deciding who will do the ports.
  15. pics from sunday. anyone know what box this is?? and if it will handle some punishment?? Rolled it over to pull the crank. crank is now at the shop. gearbox crossmember, some people have no idea.............. not to mention the fuel pump and filter are hanging by the lines, no inspection plate on the gearbox, i wonder what else my engineer will find?? R31 diff is nearly there, pulled the axels to get them a restud, mounts are made, just have to set the pinion angle and weld them on.
  16. cool, the beast is back! nice work.
  17. shame about the s15 turbo would have been perfect, they still have the .63 rear too which is pretty ideal. Oh well, 25/60 will make it move!
  18. mmmmm crown love. what about my white walls, arent they soooo sexy, all you need is some house paint! vvvvvvvvv :) ;)
  19. Any car with a non factory kit at all is gay imo, but thats just me. corollas arent worth shit, never will be, a ke25 is an insanely attractive shape, better than the rx3 imo, but the fact is the rx3 came with a cool motor, the corolla has an unbearable pos 1300 at best, keep it original all you want, but don't pretend its enjoyable to drive. Whitewalls? whatever floats your boat, you will never get everyone to agree entirely on wheel choice, 70s cars still have the chrome and all that, still the right style of car imo.
  20. A true blooded cruiser bloke, i didnt know it took an entire diff conversion just to get coils? Going to a weaker diff 'just' for their coil suspension? Ive seen too many bent cruiser diffs to number, nuff said.
  21. Get a landcruiser, and then get a really big sticker on the front windscreen that says LANDCRUISER. Or, if you like 4wding, get a patrol, ever wondered why all the landcruiser comp trucks have patrol running gear??
  22. yep, interested, please send me details. Cheers~matt
  23. yeh clear over base is a great system, had much success with the 25, and the 30s paint is 607 as well. just keeping the crown easy, as a daily driver it bound to cop some, so easy repairs are the go.
  24. yeh man, i didnt know because they never got back to me. My bro just rang me and said i scored a third of a page in the "In the build" section. I'm pretty stoked with that! Will have to go and find it now, my bros car was in last months zoom, he got a full page, but deserved it i recon.
  25. cheers man, no clear on base for this one, just a flat colour so went the 606. Was going to clear it still, but got lazy on the day and didnt bother. your daily is coming along sweet, will be a great cruiser. Aiming for then jon, march is real busy though, so will see if i can get my crap together in time! built for cruising, bring it on!!
