Tally's Jdm Ke25 Build Up Round 2
oh what a nissan feeling! replied to Tally's topic in Rollaclub Rides
yeh, exactly the same, the dry paper will clog easier though, so using $3 paint cans is a very bad idea for guide coat as the crappy quality paint clogs the paper almost immediately. Sorry for hijack Tally, feel free to pm me tas, or anyone with q's. cheers~matt -
ok, i will allow it, don't forget the 400 shot of nos to get it spinning! Ive got 300mm rotors on some ke30 struts, have had them for a few years no dramas, remember theyre designed to take the weight of the car, brakes are a pretty small add-on. nice setup though, keep the pics coming!

damn tidy now, beams is the perfect engine of choice. I imagine this will progress extremely quick considering your previous work, looking forward to it!

Tally's Jdm Ke25 Build Up Round 2

Just use dry sandpaper, it is usually a white color instead of the black. In dry sandpaper, 320 grit is the equal to a 600 grit in wet and dry. So you would use a 320 on the undercoat before painting your final color. The dry sandpaper does not clean as well as using a wet and dry with water, so you will use more sandpaper, but if you flick it out to clean the paper in between, it isnt too bad. -
sorry to have not attended, the crown did not meet the schedule i had set, and the excel is far from a pleasure to drive. it drives me insane, will be great to get back in the old toyota!

Tally's Jdm Ke25 Build Up Round 2

Yep, youre right, it will very likely be fine, acrylic top coat breaths a bit as well, as long as it gets a bit of time before the paint goes on i think it will be fine. keep the updates coming! -

Yep, youre right, everyone used to do it, some people still do. The problem is, the undercoat is not waterproof, and absorbs the water, as does the bog and anything else underneath. There are now some 2 pack products on the market that are marine grade, and are pretty much waterproof, but even for these its not worth the risk. The only thing that wet and dry paper should be used for is buffing these days. I'm not saying that this will cause problems with your car, as circumstance will also be a factor, just trying to help out. cheers~matt -

recessed firewall would have to be the hardest, no real drama though if you have a welder. Also sump, might or might not fit, possibly a drama.....

cheers man. Yeh gonna try and buff it off i guess. The 7mge is staying for a while, maybe for good, its just a daily, so hopefully i can resist going over the top with it. Just fitted the front screen with new rubber, went in nice and easy. -

been working away again so progress is slow, but is still moving along. Got axels and disks back, looking good. Got the old man to make me up some leaf spring mounts for the new diff, he has a bigger welder! roof lining in, not an easy task, the guy who made it told me i picked some very difficult material. Rear side glass in, very difficult again, had to get the missus to help me, give me a windscreen anyday after these annoying things! Pulled the old diff out today to make way for the skyline one, problem is i reefed on it too hard and sent the whole lot off the stands, luckily the jack was still under one side so it didnt hit the deck too hard. was just balancing though. so low, lol. -
The radiator support is stitched onto the vehicle from the front with spot welds. To remove drill all of the spot welds out, and it will pretty much fall off. To replace weld the new one back on in the same manner.

I'm not sure how the whole gemini thing got regoed and i doubt it is till possible, but it is far from legal in your corolla.

Leaf springs are perfect for straight line traction, drag racing. If you had to chose between a factory coil or leaf spring, leaf is far easier to create a seriously simple and effective setup for traction. Also, much better for load carrying- the only reason leafs are still on all the utes. Tramp is a factory problem, easy fixed.

Calling All Sr20 Rollas, what Radiator Fits?
oh what a nissan feeling! replied to JDM55's topic in General Mechanical
I tried the s13 one in mine just then, it would fit if there is room to sit it behind the lower brace. Notch out those little triangles at both ends a bit. mine has the engine out atm so not sure if there is enough room to do this. If this is a no go, i recommend looking at those cheap alloy imported radiators on ebay, disregard where the pipes are as that is easy changed, but the ads usually have dimensions in them, try skyline, rx7, ect ect, one of them is bound to have a suitable radiator. They look sweet, and changing the pipes will be quite cheap. If anyone is doing an ke2x ca or sr, the s13 radiator does fit in those quite well. -

I had a vt with 330,000 on the clock, paid $1000 for it, it still went hard on its original motor and box, and i flogged it for a year with no dramas. Commo crap aint all bad, does the job, well mine did............................... -
Rims look good! nothing wrong with lowering blocks either, unless they are 4" thick!

Sr20 4age In Ke30
oh what a nissan feeling! replied to shauns ke30's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
sr20 is not any harder to do than 4a, they do come with a much worse computer though, toyota computers are always better to work with than nissan ones. sr20 is Probably easier conversion actually, at least a rwd format one is common as can be. Ca18 is a waste of time, there is no sustitute for cubic inches. The only reason you would stick with the smaller 4ag is if you are a toyota purist, which is fair enough. -
will be there if the crown allows it, getting close to finished, but depends how much time i get to finish it!

motor in the car and running sweet. Picked up newly 5 studed axels, still $80 per side, same as last time i got it done. Fitting new roof lining atm, its going to take some time with the wags by the looks of it. Also got some extra vinyl to do the pillars as well.
