  1. ^^^good call, its all about the nos!
  2. yesterday I decided to put the new output shaft in the auto, probably the scariest bit of the conversion, but anyways.... bellhousing and rear housing removed, also valvebody and servo removed all underneath clear, time to start on the guts. oil pump out front clutch drum out planetary gears out all apart, happily i didnt have to remove the final bit to get the output shaft out. finally the prize, the old output shaft beside the new. Anyways, i got most of the guts back together, but need a new gasket for the oil pump, so had the stop there for now. I'm also waiting on a stage 2 shift kit thats not here yet, then i can put the valve body back in. :lolcry:
  3. love it, such a nice car!
  4. nice bench mate, and welder. I need to upgrade too. interior is looking real good too!
  5. Is that the rotary powered one? There were a few 20s there, oke20 broke some main caps on the dyno, a skyline pulled over 1000 rwhp as well, thats a whole lot of dynowatts!! Was a good day, the burnout comp was much improved too, i only counted 3 moo moo commodores, the rest were mostly decent cars! Every time i go there i start working hard on the rola again, maybe next year............
  6. Ok, here is yesterdays effort. I went over to the oldies and removed the engine and gearbox from the hsv, once again forgot to take the camera. :hmm: Took it home on the ute. removed gearbox from engine. drained oil, mostly onto the concrete  I tried the commodore radiator into the jero, definatelty not a fit due to the steering box being right up front, need at least 100mm off one side. that sux pretty bad, as the commo setup is a good looking bit of gear. These are the hsv extractors, they look good from the outside, but once i pulled them off i found that where they are welded onto the flanges there is massive lumpy weld half-covering the holes! nice effort hsv! And last of all here is a comparison between the ford c4 that i am using in my corolla, and the modern 4 speed 4l60e out of the commo, i think these photos clearly explain why i went with the 3 speed c4.
  7. Engine ecu wiring for pajero has been removed, and what i need to stay and use for new ecu has been labelled. I bought a service manual for the pajero, it has endless very detailed wiring diagrams, so this was all very easy.
  8. Have done a fair bit more to the engine bay, is in undercoat now, will be ready for topcoat soon i hope, not much to look at though. Painted some interior bits. got some runs on this roll cage bar last time, so repainted it too. got some flat paint of the same colour mixed up, so will hopefully paint the dash soon. Ordered the adaptor for the c4 from usa... should have more frequent updates now that the crown is finished.
  9. ^^^GT45 with a 200 shot of nos to get it on boost should do it i recon. :jamie:
  10. So you have e85 on the pumps in sydney, not fair.... Diff - hilux. different lengths can be obtained from different models, if you are going to mini tub make sure you clear the diff/tunnel while you are at it. OKE20 runs on a cut down hilux diff................ Brakes- do some research on here, I'm not aware of a strut that bolts in, there are plenty for the ke30 model, but for a ke20 a bit more creativity is required. edit. ratios, use a higher ratio, as in 3.7 or at least 3.9, overpowered cars do not require the real low ratios.
  11. I have some "backyard jobs" for sale, they come with an engine though. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...256#entry461563
  12. saw this there, plenty of time spent on the engine bay, nice and tidy.
  13. don't forget to let your tyres down, about 20 psi should do it. 14.8 with traction.
  14. looks like i will be going on saturday with a few mates to look, the rola aint quite ready yet..........
  15. cheers mate. This should get some rego this week if all goes well at rwc this time. 6. hand brake not holding ........ fixed 14. tailgate cracked and rust in both corners --- need to refit to vehicle. 21. gearbox crossmember dodgy, and loading mount --- fixed 22. fuel line not secure along lh rail --- fixed 24. clutch pipe rubbing on firewall --- fixed Tailgate is finish painted, but needs to be fitted to the vehicle, all the rear interior needs to be fitted again now too. Have not bled brakes up yet, but only took 20min last time, so will do it tomorrow night i think. Got nothing done this weekend though, haven't been home, i think i will book it for wednesday for the re-rwc inspection.
  16. yep, vx hsv l67. Was seriously tempted to go the pajero/triton commonrail turbo desiel engine, a mate has a 2009 trition and it hammers, probably would have gone deisel, but I had already purchased the super6. Have not done a whole lot yet, been finishing the crown, will start getting serious soon. adaptors have been here for a few weeks, marks 4wd adaptors $1200 worth, ouch. not worth me making just one though. I have seperated manual gearbox from transfer, I'm going to keep the commodore auto, it is more likely to handle the power. Made some blanking off plates for the manual gearstick, and the clutch master cylinder out of 2mm plate.
  17. this is my shorty pajero, i paid $1500 for it a year ago with blown head gaskets. This is the second shorty pajero i have owned, the previous one i jumped regularly, thrashed, took down trees, tried my best to destroy, and it never broke! which is why i bought another one. My last one was red. I spent $1000 on it fully recoed the heads, did timing belt, water pump, basically a brand new whole top end. also did cv boots for rwc. Anyways, drove it for about 6 months, until one day i took it mud bashing, it ate mud due to a non - sealing airbox. A month later it ground to a halt, with a major bottom end knock! sooo..... motor and box come out, motor sold on ebay for $400 due to all the new bits.
  18. real tidy mate! powercruise??
  19. cheers! I am real lucky to have access to the equipment needed, the old man has a small business, I needed a fair bit of help from him to create the curved edge on one of the folders. I would have taken some pics of the process, but the camera went flat. did this one today 24. clutch pipe rubbing on firewall --- bought clips. also the tail gate has been etched, filled, and is now in undercoat.
  20. lots more items fixed in the last few days, heres whats left to go : 6. hand brake not holding ......... 14. tailgate cracked and rust in both corners --- need to paint and refit to vehicle. 21. gearbox crossmember dodgy, and loading mount --- have cut and designed, welder is on lend atm, so still needs welding. 22. fuel line not secure along lh rail --- bought clips. 24. clutch pipe rubbing on firewall --- bought clips. also need to bleed brakes again after fitting new bits, just need to find a time when someone is here.
  21. awesome, nearly there with the beast! hopefully will be at jambo to see it...
  22. the list, and what is left to do....... 1. no number plate light fixed 2. parklights wired into headlights fixed 3. interior fan inoperative, cannot test demister fixed 4. ignition key pulls out in run position fixed 5. devider plates missing in front parker/ indicator fixed 6. hand brake not holding ......... 7. heavy brake pedal, no vacuume to booster fixed 8. rear seat wont lock upright fixed 9. no rear seat belts fixed (they were under the seat) 10. no handbrake light .............. 11. no ignition warning lights .................... 12. windscreen washer inoperative .................... 13. wipers lazy, no variation in speed fixed 14. tailgate cracked and rust in both corners nearly there 15. rust in pillar of tailgate opening fixed 16. rhr wheel binding ................... 17. lhf flexible brake hose split ..................... 18. upper control arm bushes loose .................... 19. rear gearbox seal leaks fixed 20. bolt missing on transmission mount fixed 21. gearbox crossmember dodgy, and loading mount nearly there 22. fuel line not secure along lh rail ................ 23. lh lower ball joint worn .................... 24. clutch pipe rubbing on firewall ..................... 25. different motor installed all good. 26. rear diff fitted all good. 27. kink in fuel hose ................... 28. shock rubbers loose ................... 29. fuel gauge don't work ..................... what a overrated machine!!!!! anyways...........the rear tailgate........... I didnt fix this initially, in a hope that i may find a better one, but i havent. so i began to weld up the holes, but the more paint i took off the more holes and large dints i revealed, so in the end i decided to do a complete cap of the lower section. i cut the bottom inner off first, then the outer. yep, it ugly looking went to the old mans shed, bent up some new bits, and welded them in... new, straight lower panel on the old tailgate, beats trying to straighten the old junk :(
  23. my crown has factory guard mounted ones, they are useless for vision.
  24. Not sure if nsw is the same, we don't have weights on our normal vehicle rego papers in qld.
