  1. engine exploded, broke the crank ect. but ran a 7!!!!!
  2. congrats scott!!
  3. Its a bad idea, and will likely screw up the whole geometry of the vehicle. how, or why, could putting the entire front end of a silvia into a corolla, be easier than fabbing up a pair of new mounts?
  4. Those rims look so good cusso, the rear dish makes them. change colour? You probably have my favorite colour for any old corolla. . I haven't seen it in the flesh, but it looks pretty much the same as the colour i did my ke25. The only reason i didn't paint the ke30 that colour is because i would then have two blue corollas.
  5. The place in bris sells the outer bands to the public for $55- $60 each , 5" to 10" available, i priced that a few years back though. A mate of mine got a set done for his lj, they look very factory.
  6. ^^^ not anymore actually, that method is no longer legal for road use. They buy blank outer rims in desired width, and remove your centres to fit to the new outer in the desired width and offset.
  7. yeh mate, thanks anyways for the help, has been flashed by dicks electronics. I finally found my multimeter, and it turns out i had the wrong wire from the pajero, it was only giving power in the start position. Runs sweet now as far as i can tell with no zorst. final list: bleed brakes (cause of diff change) charge lt don't work? Wire oil light up (can't find the damn wire) transfer case oil both diffs oil auto shifter (coming from usa) reverse lt hook up auto start p+n only wired Mount ecu + relay board Clamp battery down mount throttle cable properly probably stuff i missed, but getting there!
  8. none, there are no stronger diffs at all that just bolt in.
  9. Very cool idea, but there are so many reasons why it hasnt been done. there are now many engines that make use of similar technology, beams being one, rwd format, and looks to be a relatively easy conversion from what ive read. sr16vvl, sr20vvl, these are only available in fwd, but they do spin the correct way. (sr16 has 200hp na approx)
  10. pulsar motor is no good to you, you need a rwd engine. don't do it, it would be a shame to see another for sale thread for an unfinished project. Start small, learn a few things about general mechanics, and then reconsider in a few years time.
  11. ^^^^^ I have seen your car around, the missus parents live on tamborine, had to explain the tailight swap to the missus, and she was obliged to listen, what else could she do at 100kph? :lolcry:
  12. yeh, i don't think i will lift it at all now, so happy with how it looks. I'm getting so keen to drive it, so close now!
  13. awesome mate, looks like a whole lot of fun!
  14. Thanks mate, yep hoodlining definately, valance panel sounds great too, let us know, and i'll come down grab them  cheers!
  15. ah, i see the cable ties, very discreet, many years ago i decided i like these '78 ones better, but i am rethinking quite a few things on the car. would be cool to try the '76 grill as they remind me of the ke25 grill a bit too, which looks mad. :hmm:
  16. Yeh, my lips have been rolled under, being a double seam i definatelty wouldnt do it with your nice paint on there. I think they would still fit though, will get some tyres on the rears next week, so come and have a trial run, might even be a good idea to drive around on them for a bit and see if they touch ever.
  17. I think i would need 1000 times to convince myself, and then every time i get a run I'm back to the start again :lolcry: Ah, cool, good idea, better than having the cooler all in your face. my style grill has more room, but i still had to take 10mm of the back of it with a sander.
  18. I'm pretty sure the older style grill doesn't fit with the cooler and all that, but your cooler is in a similar place, so maybe it does. I wouldnt mind the style of grill slo30 is running. Fuel tank is custom alloy one, nearly used an lj torana one, but the custom one was real cheap in the end. brad, i have actually done ok so far on this with the spray gun, but I'm still pretty sure its a fluke, and things will go pear shaped soon. although the new spraygun i bought is so much better, maybe things are looking up.. :hmm:
  19. yeh been looking at rubber lately myself, just need to get some cash together, good tyres are so expensive! my street wheels are a set of work 17x7 and 17x8 on the rears, very surprised how easy the 8's go under there.
  20. Just read your first page again, what size simmons are you looking to run?
  21. I weighed an sr20 i have here, missing starter motor, turbo and aircon it weighed 120kg, it still had flywheel, turbo manifold, inlet, alternator ect on it. Aircon weighs an obscene amount, not just the pump, but massive cast brackets that line the side and front of the block,i would weigh this alone but its at the oldies place. I think a sr20t gearbox and engine complete for conversion would be 170-180 mark. anyways, this thread is funny, carry on.......
  22. its been awhile since an update on this, but it is getting a fair bit of attention. made some mounts for the radiator, the pins are on the side, so made these op using the factory rubbers. also made an adaptor for the pajero airbox to commo afm. ran out of mig wire so only got to half weld it, just goobered the rest. Changed the rear flange on the tailshaft to suit the new diff out with the old diff. in with the new... Also finally put the new seal in the diff, and finished that side off with cv and all that. alot of stuff is complete, have started it breiefly, but it stalls out after a few seconds, but still have to hook up throttle cable.
  23. thanks mate. more stuff, i got a chance to get back to this because of the rain today. trial fitted doors and front guards on shell, all panel gaps are sweet, everything fits well, even the back of the rear door is much better than i thought. fixed rust in guard, haven't welded anything this thin for awhile, so welds arent real special. got some etch primer on the two guards, grill, brake booster, front end brace thingees. Also got some 2 pack silver on some smaller bits, needed to do this so that i can put the front end back in and get it rolling again. that is all. Need to find an auto flex plate for an sr20 so i can order my converter and put some junk in the bay.
  24. nice thread, just read it through from the start, updates??
