Go into paint and 'save-as' the picture as a .gif (bottom bar thingo), Rollaclub won't let you post up a bitmap image (standard paint unless you change it). Dan.

If you want a cheap carb alternative try the Gemini carb, they're almost a bolt on proposition, from memory they only need one small bit of filing, they bolt straight up apparently. They are a right pain in the ass to tune though, but thats coming from me and I've had bugger all tuning experience. A mate has one on his rolla... But yeah, I'm with everyone else. Just buy one, it would probably be easier just to buy the manifold and try doing your two standard carbs onto it than what you are proposing, but even then it will be overjetted etc.... moral of the story: buy a twin carb setup or run a single carb :) Dan.

In a carby car, not really, think about it; they get wet when you drive it in the rain anyway. However, when you get into injected cars, apparently its a good idea to stay away from the wires. WTF is all I could say, but apparently it happens. Just go and buy a $2 can of degreaser from SuperCrap, spray it on (keeping in mind to KEEP IT AWAY FROM PAINT, it eats through it) and hose it off five minutes later. Good as gold, you'll understand how it works as soon as you have the can in your greasy little hands.

Looks like your f@$ked then. :( j/k dude

Pics as promised Engine bay prior to painting rocker cover.. can't find the damned pictures of once it was painted, i'll take some more when it stops raining. Should have took some photos of the springs up front when we jacked it up, Mitch was spun out by what happens to cut springs :( weren't ya mate. Still, it looks good. Bumper turned out pretty well for one that was mangled to start with. So yeah. Thats the stage that the car is at now.. *passes mic. onto Mitch*

Yeah, yeah - we shouldn't have to, but we do. Its just the prick of a situation that we call 'life'. If hes got a serious problem with you, your car would have been smashed to shit by now. He hasn't. Think about it from his situation, he probably didn't have an idea on what was going on, maybe it was a way of him venting his embarassment. It was a one time problem - don't worry about it, get on with life, there is plenty more of those situations to come.

Should have been |--| close to grabbing the nearest solid manouverable object.... :( J/k, that is bloody stupid, solid manouvarable objects (or SMOs :jamie:) should only be used if theres absolutely nothing else to do. Look mate, fair enough, you've had a problem. If the guy gives further problems then perhaps reporting him might be a viable option, but face it, there is people out there like that in our society, and you just have to live with it.

That idea is possibly the best idea that I've heard in this thread. Perhaps if there have been... three (?) more negative comments than positive (or perhaps a percentage) there could be a thumbs down. The problem would still be there, but rather than the whole demographic of members suffering, the first few would. It could work... Keep up the good work fellas :(
-
You don't. Its a waste of time, all you are doing is not only wasting your valuable time, but theirs. Its impossible to prove it happened, and even if you can nothing will happen anyway... just calm down, take a breather and start carrying a solid manouvarable object in your car. Dan.

I'm slowly getting more suspicious of you tassie boys :(

Sub 50 posts is too much for the posting limitations, I've known plenty of members that do have sub-50 posts that make relavent, thoughtful and helpful comments to the threads they post in. Perhaps just withdrawal their topic starting rights for the 50? Then they can just ask questions, supply answers etc etc. ? Or we could just use a gas chamber..

Bloody nice little clean Corolla mate. I'm 15, doing up a coupe for speedway.. don't let the hard work put you off like it does for me hehe. Whats the plans anyway dude?
-
If it were a clean KE70, I would be tempted to say the auto-manual conversion would be totally worth it. However, by the sounds of things its not the best, which is a shame. Depending on how much you bought your KE70 for, and your mechanical knowledge, I'd say that it would be a better option to get a manual KE70 as a base for a project. Better still, you could concentrate on fixing this one up a little bit as practice for your next KE70... Anyway mate, good luck with the project, and since I've never said it before, welcome to Rollaclub. Dan.
