i'm wanting to get a full set of inner and outer bushings, front and rear, for ae82 twincam swaybars, front and rear. can someone give me a link to a site that sells them? I don't feel like blowing $649 plus the cost of labor on an experiment. So has anyone here installed a Paradise Racing 'Power Pack' on their 4ac or 4a-lc engine? I am thinking about buying the Power Pack for my 4a-lc sohc. I was told by the rep for Paradis that I will just need a custom carb linkage, but that's it's not hard to fabricate. The kit comes with Weber carb, adapter plate, air cleaner assembly (not sure if air filter is included, probably is), and camshaft and valve springs. I would think that I would need the emissions version of the carb also, since my 4a-lc is an emissions version of the 4ac, from what I understand. Would any weber 32/36 carb work, or would it have to be 32/36 dgev? The rep also told me that the Weber 32/36 carb kit with spacer normally sells for $349 alone, and that camshaft is $225 alone, and valve springs are $200. Savings with the Power Pack is $125. They would not give me the specs on the cam. Their site states "Sorry, but we do not list our cam specs as a lot of competeing shops are now viewing our web site and "borrowing" our numbers as if they were theirs. You will recieve the specs on your cam at the time of purchase."

It's come to my attention that ae82 and ae92 front brakes aere interchangeable. And I already have ae92 rear discs for my ae82 sohc ready to be installed. My question is, assuming that i install the rear discs, will ae92 coilovers now work on ae82 sohc, with only drilling of new holes on the strut boot towers (the three bolts that come out of the tower on top)? If not, how involved will the fitment of coilovers meant for an ae92 be, for an ae82 sohc?

the boss came with the ae86 steering wheel. i got in on ebay as a package. i will look into the twincam steering wheel. it's kinda hard to find one in my color (light brown), but I suppose i can paint it black using vinyl paint

if i were to do that, could i then also use the stainless steel brake lines for ae92 on the ae82 sohc?

I have rolled my front fenders by using a baseball bat wrapped in duct tape, and also a rubber mallet. I was able to get a centimeter's extra clearance on it. if you're running 16's, i hope you have low profile tires and good struts, and that the width is not greater than 6", and hte offset is just right. otherwise, you run the risk of rubbing, rolling fenders or not. fyi, i have run everything from stock 13x5 (aluminum and stock steelies also) to 17x7 aluminums on an sohc ae82, with rolled front and rear fender wells

i have fit 17x7 wheels on my ae82 sohc, with a 3mm spacer which i glued to the drum. of course the fenders were 'rolled' using a baseball bat wrapped in duct tape first. they cleared with 205/40/17 tyres. the offset has to be JUST RIGHT to pull this off, though. otherwise: rubbing. after fiddling with everything from a 13x5 to a 17x7 on this car, I have determined that my enkei 13x5 wheels are the BEST choice. why? simply because our sohc cars have only 72hp. the 13x5 wheels are 12 pounds 12 ounces. go with the smallest aluminum wheels you can get your hands on. i go my set of four Enkei at the junkyard for $120 total. there are a few 14 and 15" rota wheels that are the same weight or slightly lighter, but are very costly. anything beats the ugly look of the stock steelies. remember that 4x100 bolt pattern is shared by honda, acura, mini cooper, and other cars as well. plenty of wheels out there in that bolt pattern. stay small and light weight and you'll be good.

not so sure about the steering wheel though. the sohc has a deeper dish, to clear the signal switches. dohc has a relatively flatter steering wheel. when i put an aftermarket wheel with boss meant for an ae86 onto my ae82 sohc, the wheel was less than an inch clearance from the switches, and therefore didn't work.

i put ae86 front and rear strut braces on my ae82 sohc. rears just bolted right on, but i had to cut out part of the sheet metal that blocked the strut brace from reaching the bolts on top. the ae86 fronts were a different story. had to cut the brackets off, and re-weld them in a new position: but on the bright side I bought both front and rear braces on eBay for $48, including local pickup. if i had it to do again, i'd have just bought the rear, and swapped my front struts with ae92 struts, which require ae92 hubs, and therefore i'd have just done an ae92 front brake upgrade at the same time.
