  1. it'd want to be off a mkII for that price personally i think a earlier version w57 would be more than ample behind a 4agze. I'm usuing a w57 from a ra60 celica on my 4agte and havent broken it yet. It's a bit cheaper too coming in at $250 i would've thought so myself but his name is rhett
  2. Toymods Link Performance Forums Link both posts are exactly the same...if you email him with an expression of interest he'll get back to you with a price and eta initally i was going to use a dellows housing but changed my mind after getting some feedback from people on toymods about the quality of the casings...from memory bill's bellhousing ended up being cheaper than dellows anyway there's also fellow here in Brisbane by the name of Anthony Kellam...he's sourced bellhousings in the past from a contact he has in Japan but I'm not sure of the cost...he can be located on toymods & twincam.org cheers Nick
  3. speak to bill sherwood www.billzilla.org he brings in bellhousings from malaysia to suit the 4a/w* conversion. The quailty of the bellhousing is rather good. Depending on the conversion rate he can normally bring them over for around $350 he's got a thread on performance forums & toymods in regards to group buys (it's about 2-3 weeks old) I'm rather pleased with my setup :D
  4. mostly a loop of a certain part of Crystal Method's - Keep Hop Alive (trip hope mix)...from what i can tell anyway
  5. mmm shiny
  6. 2L 4cyl if you've got money to burn a 1jz conversion would be ultimate
  7. interesting. If it were clutch issues wouldn't the problem be constant? it's only an issue after a stint on the freeway I might pull it apart tomorrow...the box is reasonably fresh but the clutch was a used item from the previous owner. thanks guys :S
  8. hi guys & gals I've been searching the various forums to see if i can gain a little insight into an issue thats recently popped up in my t50. I have to travel to helensvale and back each day for work (100km round trip approx) and i've noticed that when i get off the highway I have problems selecting gears. Downshifts are an issue & even when I'm stationary any gear slection is hard. It doesn't crunch...it just does not want to go in gear. I have to pump the clutch a few times, blip the throttle and try selecting between 1st & 2nd before eventually it'll sink in Most of the info i've come across has been with cold start issues on the t50. Mine has been running for about 30min @ 110kmph. I'm guessing its a synchro issue but i wanted to throw it out to you guys to see what you have to say It is possible to run the synchros dry on the other gears if I'm in 5th for an extendend period of time? ie: too much heat :S any feedback is appreciated
  9. 1.4 would be ideal pm sent demuire
  10. hey demuire i'll ask for you tomorrow. Afaik all parts on the compak compressors are replaceable unlike some. They come with a warranty...i can't quite remember the rest of the details but i'll post the info tomorrow
  11. ive used a program called Ace Media Player. If you've got Media Player, Quicktime, Divx etc it kinda combines all of them (i don't explain things well). It's run a few movies ive had codec issues with but maybe thats just me being computer illiterate
  12. my 100kw 4age (ae93 seca) went in using the rwd 4ac t50. I would assume the 86 & 100kw boxes would bolt up the 100kw flywheel is 212mm from memory...slightly larger than the 86kw *i think* motor could set you back anywhere from 600-900. Keep an eye on toymods, i've seen a few 4age's for sale recently...a complete bolt in package (ie starter, loom etc) went for 1k not long ago. You could prolly make some of your money back selling the stuff you don't need
  13. if you need measurements pm mlaser on toymods...he owns it now. The brakes look awesome with the cross drilled discs & they are frigging massive. I think he's got 14"s on it atm but has very little clearance
  14. hehe theres a good vid on top gear of 'family vans' racing. They stuck a few pro drivers behind some taragos & espatse's (sp?) good for a laugh
  15. 3 most common upgrades ive found 1. jdm caliper upgrade...this allows you to use a larger, vented rotor 2. s13...i was under the impression you would need to change the struts for this but upon speaking with Anthony Kellam he doesnt believe its necessary 3. rx7 the rx7 upgrade basically bolts on with the exception of making mounting brackets for the calipers ive come across various threads on toymods, club 4ag etc that elude to 300zx, ma61 supra, non turbo r32 & 728i bmw upgrades....the only person i know thats done one of these is mr shin from toymods...i believe he's done the r32 upgrade most people seem to think the TTT kit is overkill and too heavy...some argue the same about the rx7 upgrade most of you would know simon simon-ae86 from toyotacarclub.net & toymods...he's done the s13 strut & brake upgrade if you wanted to pm him for some info for the ke25 i would say the jdm caliper upgrade, braided brake lines etc would be the cheapest & most effective upgrade as the car is light & wouldnt need much to pull it up...plus you'd save a few kilos I'm actually considering pulling out of the rx7 upgrade and going ahead with the jdm upgrade. With the right pads, fluid & lines i think it would be more than adequate. Ive got 233mm x 18mm rotors to suit & i believe its enough i'll measure the lca's tomorrow after i get home from work
  16. howdy I thought i'd share some of whats currently happening with my gte sprinter. I don't know what ive posted previously so i'll give you all a brief history. Most of the current work on this particular sprinter is being done at a workshop as I'm after a1 results. My daily sprinter is my diy pig  Recent Mods: 1993 ae101 4agze motor T series disc brake rear end cusco 1.5 way lsd custom 1 piece tailshaft w57 gearbox custom bellhousing ihi vj6 turbo (mazda famila) calsonic fmic Kouki Levin front end (lights, grill & bar) cusco catch can I'm focusing on the engine bay & suspension before i get to asthetics Current Mods: Familia turbo has departed thanks to a piece of gasket finding its way into the oil feed line...how the hell it got in there is a mystery the following work is being done atm: GT28R & manifold adapting to suit larger fmic fuel reg 3" stainless exhaust rust removal work to follow includes: custom radiator ecu RX7 Series 4 front brake upgrade suspension "upgrades" Bride Ergo seats I then intend on fitting my Whiteline tailights to perfect the JDM AE86 look...then its off to Ken Streeter for a wing, sideskirts & a respray i took a few pics of the engine bay today...so far only the turbo has been fitted but its gives you an idea of whats going on. Engine Bay 1 Engine Bay 2 Engine Bay 3 excuse the photo quality as pics were taken with my phone. I'll add more info/pics as it progresses oh and heres one of my 4age daily driver...i'll get more pics of it when i get a real camera Daily Driver i forgot to take pics when i did the engine swap. As far as swaps go it was really easy as the engine was taken out of another sprinter....only thing that needed changing was the sump. Whole ordeal took about 2 days ie: removing 4ac, removing 4age and transplant. I managed to scavenge the 2.25" exhaust off my gte sprinter to save a few $$$ i was going to upload some pics in the folder you created for me in the gallery nick but i couldnt figure out how :D
  17. a good mate of mine works/runs (family business) a place called Compak. They specialise in compressors, battery chargers & air tools http://www.compak.com.au/index.html if you see something you like i may be able to get a good price for you. Their stuff is top quality
  18. I'm no guru but in my limited experience i'd first sand back to bare metal around the areas i'd want to treat. Then grab a grinder and cut out the rust...personally i'd try to keep the cuts square as i'd find it easier to weld a new piece on that way. Grab a sheet of steel and cut out shapes similar to what you've removed from the car...but slightly larger. Position the new piece of metal on the inside of the panel and proceed to weld it to the body. Smooth over dags etc and prime ok so thats my dodgy backyard tip...i don't know if this is right or not but its been a useful way for me to attack the odd, small rust spot here and there with the overall paint job itself most of the $$$ is in the prep work...so if you don't want to spray it yourself i'd think about sanding it back, taping the glass etc to save a few bucks I may be able to help with the fmic & turbo depending on what you're after: ive just pulled my old fmic off my sprinter...its a calsonic & in good condition apart from a few stuff ups when it was fitted initally ie: a few more welds than normal but it works well...its more of an asthetic issue. I also have a turbo...an ihi vf10 of a subaru liberty 60k excellent condition. I recently bought it to put on the sprinter but other ideas developed so I'm looking at offloading it to fund the new scheme http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/sharpens/turbo.jpg i don't have a pic of the cooler yet but its coming
  19. offtopic but did anyone see him at the Autobarn drift day...he was in a rwd converted wrx. It was only his first time in the car so he obviously wasnt as home as in the sprinter but it was interesting
  20. came across this link on another forum and just had to share. At the top of the page there are links to other pages... http://omega.med.yale.edu/~pcy5/japanese/teacher.html diaries of an american teaching english in japan...some funny stories http://omega.med.yale.edu/%7Epcy5/flash/flash.htm#Xiaoxiao games & flash animations such as stick men fighting http://omega.med.yale.edu/%7Epcy5/misc/overlord1.htm top 100 things to do if you ever became an overlord http://omega.med.yale.edu/%7Epcy5/base/allyourbase.swf most of you should remember this one :D etc etc good for procrastination

  22. argh! the nightmares :D
  23. yikes...have you got any photos Mr Revhead? the quality must be pretty darn good
  24. yep...custom bellhousing or adaptor plate...both will set you back between 300-400 theres a guy on the gold coast that makes the adaptor plate...you can find him on twincam.org under Aza510 bellhousing can be sourced from garagedori, dellows or a-spec...mine came from malaysia but i can't remember where you'll need a custom tailshaft also
  25. Ontario is a nice place I'm heading there at the end of the year to visit some family :insane:
