  1. I think on 10 pound you're going to blow the shit out of your motor, not only problems with pinging. Try shit like this on something decent, like an escort. 4k's are a bloody joke.
  2. Notice how it's no longer a rotary? What's that saying? :P
  3. Wow that is small. You're drawing through? Is that really a good idea? Are you using an aftercooler? And have you read the FAQ yet? Apparently these shitty 4k's don't last long over 6-7psi. Stolen from the FAQ: Some general rules for forced induction on K motors are: don't go too big, and don't run lots of boost. A stock K motor can handle 6psi quite happily, at 8psi their life gets reduced noticeably, and they go bang pretty often at 10psi. And 6psi really is jack-shit.
  4. Dodgy second battery job in an attempt to quell my electrical gremlins. Shitty attachments I made. Saving up for cable-ties.
  5. To the dump. LMAO! Sorry. Couldn't help myself. On a serious note, get rid of the 4k. 5k, 7k or 4age are your best bet I'm told.
  6. oi yeah same deal with me but only happens when I turn my headlights on
  7. Having the points set too far apart.
  8. Won't this bugger the coil?
  9. So it's finished? Got an pics?
  10. Sounds like symptoms of a gummy/oily clutch plate. Mum's car does this. Feels like she is skipping the front wheels.
  11. Wow, I can't imagine anyone getting intimidated by a Corolla. My charge light comes on on every flash when I put on my blinkers. You think you have problems!
  12. Alright take it easy on the kid. One might wonder how the F you 'do' a sump gasket though.
  13. Yes indeed, stupid KE55. Best bet is to piss it off and buy an Aussie car. Why don't you try bleeding the rear brakes, or indeed the whole system and see if that works?
  14. Yeah I'm from Newie. Fletcher/Maryland actually :) I'm keen for a mass get-together/cruise, not too keen about driving a 4-speed to Sydney though. :)
  15. Sorry, I didn't mention that I got the second battery free from my Pop, he replaced it when he went around Australia purely because he didn't want it to fail. Does anyone know how much a good second hand alternator is? What kinds of alternator can I use, because I can probably get my mitts on one from a 80 series Landcruiser.
  16. I didn't think it was a problem because they are in parallel? I can't afford a bigger battery dude thats why I'm doing this and I think the regulator on the alternator is rooted, I'm just doing this to get by. Thanks bro
  17. I've poorly installed a dual battery and I understand some, if not all of you may find this stupid. It's just sitting in the engine bay on the floor, connected only by a cable ties which is fine and not dangerous, ie, can't move to contact moving parts, away from heat etc. I was wondering if connecting a lead from it to my positive pole on the original battery, and connecting the negative to the frame is sufficient to give me some more starting torque and not let the lights dim when the car idles. I've had the problem for a while, the car simply drains a brand new battery overnight and I need a cheap fix until I get rid of her. Cheers in advance for your help. :y:
  18. Oh, my bad.
  19. Are you asking a question here? Doesn't matter if you aren't. I doubt 3k's make 43kW, alot of blokes on Toymods dyno stock 4k's and only really seem to get around 23kW. :) But I agree, your power figures are obtainable. Good on ya.
  20. Sorry mate but I refuse to use anything that slightly resembles a Mitsubishi part on my car... ever. Thanks everybody for the help
  21. I used about 15 degrees. Any higher than that, and you will have problems starting it (I believe it's because the engine wants to turn the wrong way:) ). I thought stock timing was 8 degrees BTDC anyway? I was aware that using higher octane fuel in a well timed engine only really gave you higher low-end figures? Not to mention better economy
  22. HAHA this is classic. Me and my mates often disconnect the flange after the resonator and cable tie the rest to the underneath of the car and go for a drive. Gets a lot of attention from the cops, especially when you go roaring past Newcaste station. Sounds like shit on full acceleration, when you are coming down a hill it pops and gurgles and sounds great.
  23. Here's a picture of one Just wondering if I could, they're relatively cheap compared to 32/36's or whatever, and due to their size, might give a considerable increase to power. How do they take your 'down low'?. If they are to do that I'd rather not! What's the go with the Webers again?
  24. Can I fit a 4-barrel 350 Holley on my 4k? Downjetted of course? Or a two barrel?
