  1. No Deal This is a very emotional thing for me - I do not want to part with it at all - but have to be rational with rego coming up. At least a wrecker with give me some money. Thanks for reading the post.
  2. Hello I do not want this on car sales as I need someone in Brisbane to negotiate a price to take this working vehicle. It is not perfect, it has some problems, it is showing its age a little bit, but I do not want it to go to a wrecker but it has to go before rego is due again. It has over 455000k on the clock. It has new: Tyres, windscreen, rear hatch struts, door window rubbers, radiator and battery. Manual five speed, air conditioning factory fitted but not working. Problems: from a recent quote to get a safety certificate to sell the car it requires these things attended to: Rear brakes Diff pinion seal Rear shocks suggested front suspension bushes with a quote coming to around $550 Also the paint is crazed on the roof and peeling on the bonnet. Minor rust. Any takers? available till Monday 11th Jan 2010. send me a PM if you are interested.
  3. I have been driving my KE70 Panel Van for a few weeks now and it goes well for its age. Now regrettably I am selling her - I do not really want to but times as they are... I put a post in the cars for sale.
  4. Went along to all Toyota day with the newly registered green panelvan- there for 5 minutes then urgently called away to hospital with ill Mother. I was looking forward to the day. Maybe next time guys!
  5. REGISTERED AND ON THE ROAD - FINALLY. The car still needs a lot of work though - but I am driving it! Here are some Pics for you! Seriously thinking of going to Lawnton on Sunday if we can fit it in!
  6. Update on my progress on getting the KE70 1981 Panel van up to scratch to register it. You may recall that it has been sitting idle in my front yard for two years in an almost finished state. After getting in a tow truck driver who could not move it. Then another mobile mechanic who told me what I needed to get it up to saftey certificate standard. 1 - Engine degrease 2- Door trims in place 3- Bumper Bar in place and finally a wiring tidy up. My husband did all I asked him to this week end and the car looks great. Washed Polished and works fine or should I say worked fine. Murphy struck! Whilst it was reversing the installed viper alarm set itself in immobiliser mode - in the driveway in the way of my normal drive. (I do not think it should go to that mode whilst in motion!) The siren was going off - we could not stop it. Eventually we gave in and disconnected the battery and pushed it back to where it has been sitting for two years. But we will get there, and soon very soon I will be able to drive this car! :y:
  7. I do not know about legal stuff. But my first car was a well used KE70 and it came with whitewall tyres - I was very upset at the time when I had to replace the tyres and could not find whitewalls. (1907's)
  8. The list of jobs around the house is endless - and he is the one that makes it not me so I do not want to push too hard. So I thought I would see if I could hire someone who had a passion for corolla's to help me out.
  9. The picture comes out black - but it is actually Brittish Racing Green! I know hubby or son could do it- but they have so many other things they would prefer to do. I think I will have a go myself - watch out women at work! :fuzz:
  10. Sorry meant to put in North Side of Brisbane. Not at a job at present and I can work around other people schedules. Do I post my email address to you here or can you get from the forum site?
  11. Brand new member of the female kind a little technical but not enough to finish this project. We have a KE70 Panel van (imported version) that we have got to registration standard - ALMOST. we had a safety cetificate but it lapsed because the window tinting did not comply with rules. I removed that easily enough with a home steamer. Now I want to drive it! Needs some minor finishing off - Bumper bar on, Side Panels on Doors mounted and battery in place. All of it is here somewhere in house and garage. Yet my hubby has gone on to other projects and this car has sit idly in our front yard for nearly two years. I would like to be able to drive it! I am looking for help to get it up to scratch - I do not think it should be more than half a days work - providing I can find the parts. Can anyone help me? :no2:
