  1. I have noticed differing ideas and problems with a number of things but the main concern seems to be the overlap, as I going to go with the supercharger (sc 12) because I don't Intend to race or drag the car, I just wanted something for out on the highway as that is where I spend most of my driving time, to many cops in Hobart to take the chance of having me car confiscated and it's a bloody long walk home. thanks for all of the info and food for thought, ROCKINROLLA :D :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
  2. The question is, is it worth putting a mild camm into an engine that is supercharged , intercooled and efi, will it give any real bennifit or be a waste of time ????????? :D :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: any comments are appreciated on this subject.
  3.  ;) From what I have seen when I pulled one of my 5ks apart, the 4k and 5k share the same crank as it is only the bore that is larger on the 5k and the crank had raised lettering saying 4k.
  4. Thanks to every one that has helped with the input, I have a corolla ke20 that i drive every day with the normal big port 3k head, ballanced 4k bottom end, the factory twin down draft carbies and extractors with the 2 1/4 inch exhaust, but I wanted to do something different with the 5k as the missus has has hit the E brake with any more cars, so I have decided to keep the ke20 and build engines, as she didn't say anything about engines and equipment. the Idea of an intake chamber lilke a plenum chamber for the carbies, it will be a trial and error job but worth it I think. Thanks again :P :P :wootjump: :bounce:
  5. I have a 5k in the shed, a couple of heads to choose from an intercooler and am trying to aquire a nother ke20 to use as a test car, basically I needed to know which would be the best one for a 1500cc engine with out having to work it to hard. The other problem is that I would like to use the twin carbie set up just for something a little different.
  6. I'm looking at supercharging the rolla but the Q is AMR 300, AMR 500, Sc12 or Sc14 5K Ke20, does anyone have any experience with any of these and what do you think is the best one to use, keeping in mind I need to be able to drive it every day on pulp, any input is appreciated  :lmao: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
  7. to fit 235s if you can find them in 13s you need to do a little flaring and 215s the rear guards will need to be lipped but as for rim size 13 X 7 is a good size and I've seen a set of 17 X 7s on one.
  8. If all else fails buy another door that works :jamie: :P :)
  9. Sorry I havn't replied earlier but all the information was fantastic, I went and located a 5K and pulled it apart and tried a lot of things and found the best set up and another test car to put it in so I could compare the results, I have scince told my son that he will eventually have the 5K and 5 speed but will have to learn in the 4K and 5 speed single carb version as I'm having to much fun. Thank You to everyone for all of the information, I'm having an absolute ball. :jamie: :P :) :lolcry: :lolcry: :lolcry: :lolcry: :lolcry: :jamie: :jamie: :jamie:
  10. thanks for that, I'll give them ago, the local guys said they couldn't help and to contact some mailand cam companies, it looks like that may be my only option, thanks for the address.
  11. I have been building an engine for my sons first car (KE20) so far I have balanced the 4K bottom end, 3k big port head, factory twin carbies, extractors and a 2 inch sports exhaust, with a 5 speed, the car will be spending a lot of time on the highway so 2500rpm upwards will be the starting point and hopefully it wont be going past 7000rpm to often, but boys being boys he'll give it his best shot, but does anyone out there have any good ideas of what profile to use of where to find out. :D :) :) :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
  12. Where abouts in tassie are you, I have a couple of KE20s and have a 5K and intercooler, but need the injection and a turbo or supercharger to finnish it off, would love to see and hear how it runs. I'm at Richmond
  13. I had a set of extractors fitted for $170 to my KE20 6 months ago and the prices havn't gone up that much 4-2-1 type Bellerive suspention and Exhaust in Hobart, if you need to know anyhting about K Engines give Peter robinson a call on (03) 95441162.
  14. With the 3k motor there are two different types of head, the one with a welsh plug type of casting mark in the back of it has larger inlet and exhaust ports as well as slightly larger valves, the combustion chamber looks the same as a normal 3k head but, there are slight differences which raise the copression ratio as opposed to the one with the plate screwed to the back of the head, the for mentioned head also goes well on the 4k as it raises the compression ratio even further but you may have to run octane booster or retard your timing a little to stop it from pinning, I have tried one of these setup just to see the difference for my self, the increase in power response was quite noticable.
